I folded down my rear seats on my 2012 Elantra and now I am unable to get them to lock back in normal position. It doesn't matter how hard I slam the seats I cannot get them to lock. This is the second time I folded down the seats and I am not sure if they locked from the last time I folded them down. Maybe it is the cold weather in NY that has an affect on the lock.

Just recently I heard a rattle that appeared to be coming from the rear of the vehicle, but after moving my head around I have since been able to isolate it to the sunroof right about the driver's head. I can reach up there an pull down on a metal hinge, and the rattling stops. Drives me crazy listening to a rattle right above my head.

View 20 RepliesI have a 2013 Limited w/o nav, and 3 days ago I noticed my car won't honk after I lock it using the key fob, but it will lock it. How can I turn that feature back on? I like that reassuring honk! If I can avoid a trip to the dealership, that'd be best!
View 6 RepliesI noticed that if I forget the lights on when locking the car, I don't get any warning. Is that normal? On the Toyota, you get that chime sound that tells you you forgot something like the key in the ignition or the lights on.
View 16 RepliesI have a 2007 Sonata, performs flawlessly, my wife's 2011 Elantra, not so much. We've had issues with her car from the get-go. The Elantra has 32k miles on it. About 15k miles ago the dealership reprogrammed the transmission. Problem seemed to be fixed, to a degree. Hiccup here and there.
Last night when my wife came home from work she said it was shifting hard. I just shrugged it off. We came in to town, about 5 miles down a busy highway. 55mph, no problems.
Car sat for a couple hours. We got in the car to come home, buttery smooth first few shifts to 35 mph. Car had probably been running about 5 minutes. Pulled out onto highway, shifts 1-2 fine, 2-3 holds about 2500 rpms, won't shift, won't shift, BAM! repeat 3-4, and I believe 4-5. I was so shaken up I didn't count. I pulled off and took the back road and it continued to do it for about 3 miles. It almost feels like the torque converter is locking up. Someone mentioned a transmission temperature sensor, but that is only in Sonata's, no one has seen it in an Elantra.
By the time we got home, the car was shifting normal. This morning I get in it because now my wife won't drive it, and it works fine. Works fine all day.
Go into dealership, they say everything is fine, they called Hyundai, they say nothing wrong, come back when you have a problem.
Ever since I installed my L.e.d. lights in my doors the automatic door lock once moving keep locking like 3 times. I don't know why this would happen I didn't touch anything I shouldn't have. Why this would be happening.

Whenever I get out of my car for a few minutes, I keep the engine running, so what I do is, I keep the Smart Key inside the car, and remove the physical key trying to lock the doors from outside (I do this to keep the car cool from inside because the heat in my country is scorching!)...what I found recently is that as I do this, only the driver door gets locked, and all the other doors are still unlocked...I don't know if this is a fault or standard....
I try to raise my car, but the rear locking string stuck. I can't get them move. I try turn the small ring counter clockwise and clockwise for the bigger ring as the same way I did for rear right, but it doesn't work on the left side. This is Megan racing coilover. I also used liquid wrench but no luck.
View 3 RepliesElantra GT ... Most of the time I leave the right side rear seat folded down. Every once in a while I need to return it to the normal upright configuration. That goes fine, but then later when I try to fold the seat down again the cushion (the one that you sit on) gets stuck and I have a hard time folding the seat back down again. I yank on the strap, pulling forward, upward etc. and it doesn't do anything.
Eventually, and seemingly at random, the cushion pops loose and I can fold the seat down. I can't figure out where it is getting stuck. Can I lubricate the metal parts with silicone spray or Lemon Pledge or something (I wouldn't want to use anything greasy that would get on the seat cushions)? Yes, I read the owners manual and I am following the proper procedure for folding/unfolding the seat.
I have Toyota aqua 2012 model imported from Japan mileage about 82000 Km.

View 1 RepliesI guess this feature is standard in newer cars, but how to turn off that annoying beeper for seat belts and keys in the ignition? Perhaps there's a wire that can be cut.
After all, I know enough to buckle my seat belt and feel uncomfortable and unsafe if I do not. I don't need to be beeped at to remind me. Plus, I know when I leave the keys in the ignition and exit the car.
I have noticed on my 2011 Elantra, that the heated seat no longer remains on. I turn it on, level 1 or level 2, and a second later it turns off.
This only happens for the driver seat, passenger seat works fine. Why this might be?
I want to remove the rear seat bottom cushion of a 2012 Camry L, to put on some seat covers. Do I just grasp the front center of the cushion and pull up, or will that break something?
View 7 RepliesI've had 2013 Elantra for a month. Love it, but a week ago, the driver's seat started squeaking when stopping, accelerating, and going around curves. Crazy making! I took the car in today. Svc mgr said its a weight issue. The two driver/owners weigh 150 and 160 lbs! Exactly, he said. Apparently, we do not weigh enough to prevent squeak. The only fix would be to replace the seat and there's no guarantee it would work. Also must be approved by regional svc mgr so have to go back in a.m. Told them similar issues posted online (Genesis and Sonata) and was easily resolved lubricant issue. They could at least try what appears to work. No going.
Have other Elantra owners experienced this squeaking? If Hyundai knows this is a recurring issue with their products, at what point do they make engineering changes to resolve the issue? Don't want to, but I am rapidly losing my love for the car as it sounds like a cheap tin can when it squeaks.
I would like information how to remove the rear seat back on a 2012 F250. I want to remove the head rests and from what I can find out they are bolted solid to the rear panel. I asked the same question earlier and got a reply for 2011, would that be the same? Is there any place I could get a schematic, a picture is worth a thousand words.
View 5 RepliesI have a 2010 Lexus RX 350 with 27K on the odometer. Since around the 15K mile mark I've been dealing with rear seat rattles, and that's a nice way of putting it. When I drive over the wonderfully pocked marked roads of Los Angeles, the rear seats vibrate, rattle and clang as if they are coming apart. I replicated the noise for the service guys at my local dealer. To their credit they replaced the track locating pins on the rear seats.
Unfortunately, that made things worse. The car rattles and clangs more than before. It has gotten so bad that I am considering selling a car which I bought outright just 2 years ago. By the way, I have already ruled out common sources of rattle complaints like the trunk cover.
How the rear seat vent works? When you started your car and car was moving, did you notice that vent is always blowing? OK, I just notice that my rear seat vent just keeps blowing when my car is moving. Especially, it is loud as I hear when I turn off my radio.
