Why do the GT's drip water out of a little hose under the car? Condensation drain of some sort? Seems like it would be messy in a garage, though I guess it's just water, I think...
View 13 RepliesOn my 2011, I have been running AC in the normal setting and in max setting, but don't get the water dripping on the ground like I am used to seeing, especially with the high heat and humidity. My 2000 truck used to make lots of water and the wife's '09 Flex does too.
Is this normal with the new trucks?
I have the 3.5 V6 Automatic 2010 95k miles. I have read places that say any fluid SP-III will work, then others that say any SP-IV. To my understanding, SP-III is not correct, and the fluid will need to meet SP-IV, is this correct? (Additionally, all the auto-part stores said Mecron SP-6 which is not easy to find).
Also, I have a mystery water leak, it is solely water dripping onto the exhaust just between the firewall and the engine. This happens for about an hour after the car is shut off; its getting cold here in Germany and haven't been running the A/C so that is not the issue.
We've been noticing that upon pulling into and out of our parking spot, there has been water puddles and upon close inspection today after pulling our car into the parking spot, I looked under and saw water dripping. This is possibly A/C-related because we are running the climate control on auto every time we drive? Our car is brand new and has about 400kms on it.

I noticed while ago that after I parked for almost 4 hours already and there are still water dripping.
Twice now, I've felt a cold drop of water, drip onto my foot while driving the wife's new 2014 2.0T. She's never mentioned it but she also doesn't wear sandals so she may never feel it. The carpet is not wet there, so whatever it is, it's not enough to soak the floor. It was dry out so it's not rain or car wash, but I was running the AC on both occasions, but I couldn't imagine anything AC related above the drivers footwell? I'm sure the dealer will not be able to recreate the problem so I'm likely stuck dealing with it myself...
View 5 RepliesI just noticed my 13 FX4 isn't draining water, but I checked inside and the carpets feel dry. Maybe I'm just being paranoid but the wifes Jeep always has a huge puddle under it. I'm sure the drain is somewhere under all that silver sound deadener. Is this common?

I've noticed a small crack. The crack seems internal and not completely through so I don't think that is the reason. There also seems to be a vent around the water washer nozzle which should allow the light to dry out. It just seems to be taking days! Do that gap around the washer nozzle is intact a vent or are theses lights sealed. My one is the LED version.
My 2004 Odyssey climate control is blowing hot air even when I set the controls to max cold. Not just outside type hot air but the heater is on to max hot air. Pushing the a/c off button does nothing. When I turn the a/c system on I can hear the motor's rpm drop and I see the fan turn on. I think the system is still still getting cold because when I stop I can see condensation dripping under the vehicle. How to fix this or to at least get it to blow cold all the time?

Also my car air vents smells. Tried to clean it twice with Klimaclean foam spray but both times, no water came out from under the car.
I've come to the conclusion that the drain plug is clogged. Where he drain plug is located? It's easier for me to look for it if I kind of have a general location rather than to search the entire car.
On my 1.8t jetta she is leaking coolant slowly. Just started when it got cold out. It is dripping down the oil pan right down the center. It is falling off the oil drain plug. Was reading that it could be the water pump leaking but then it wouldn't be in the center of the pan. Got it jacked up now so here are some pics.
View 6 RepliesThis morning I went to put some stuff in my hatch to go to a job and looked at the paper towel role I keep wedged in the small little cubby in the front corner and lifted it up and it was SOAKING wet! I literally could squeeze the paper towel and water would come out of it (like you submerged a paper towel in water and immediately squeezed it out). Its rained about 1.5 inches in the past few days and my car had been sitting while it was raining but had been driven between the two storms. I WILL be contacting the dealer very soon.
The funny thing is my Genesis has a recall for the water Leakage through the tail light housing.
Not sure if it was because I had the AC on..But after going thorough a car wash we noticed a noise when we turn right.
From the left-hand side of the dash when we turn right you hear a nice like..well at first I thought it sound like something moving, like the pouring of sand. Then we did it with the AC turned off and you could hear the sound of water moving.
I think the fan is making some contact with water when I turn right as water would move to the left side of the car and then perhaps make contact with something.
I have a 2013 Elantra and yesterday all this water came into the car underneath the glove box / under the dash. When making right or left hand turns you can hear the water sloshing around behind the dash. Its definitely water. What is causing water to leak into the car?
View 7 RepliesI have a large puddle of water under the spare tire. This happened a couple of months ago and I took the car to the dealership. They said it was a seam above the rear tail light that wasn't properly sealed. They re-sealed. I checked it every couple of weeks and no water but heavy rain over the past few days (car sitting) I decided to check again and there is more water than previously noticed. It looks like it's dripping down the side of the spare-wheel area.
First noticed at 1300KM now again @ 17000 KM Elantra 2013 GT GLS....
Just noticed a considerable amount of condensation on the lenses of both fog lamps. Since I rarely, if ever use them, I'm wondering if this will be a problem over a period of time. Does this indicate a flaw that I should address with my dealer?
View 15 RepliesI noticed today, when I opened the hood, that there is water condensation on the air conditioning pipes when the A/C is on. When it's fully on there is enough sweat on the pipes, and water starts dripping.
I added two images. In the first one you can see the water condensates on the two ends of the pipe with the white cap. In the second image, while it's not so clear, there is another pipe a bit deeper that also sweats.
Is this normal or not? Never noticed it.
There is water condensation (not much) behind the section of my drivers side headlight assembly where the turn signal is located and it REALLY bugs the hell out of me. The only way I could think it got there was when I was washing under the hood. The good news is the turn signal socket is easy to access and remove.
View 4 RepliesRecently my 2013 Hyundai Elantra was subject to a hit and run. It is a new car with less than 2000 miles on it since October 2013. There was 9K in damage, most of which pertained to the back driver's side and the axle. Bumper, quarter panel, trunk floor, axle, wheel bearings, and two rims had to be replaced. Plus incidentals like tail lights and such. Because this is a new car, I received all new parts as a replacement. When the car was returned to me, the back seat kept getting wet in the rain.
After taking back to the shop twice, they finally diagnosed a small hole in the seal in a seam of the quarter panel area---something must have happened when putting everything back together. The door is fine and there is no moon / sun roof on the vehicle. I do not completely understand what this means. I know some basics about cars, but not to this level of detail. I searched by topic area and couldn't find anything that was related to this type of reason for water in the car.
Have the following questions: How a small hole in a quarter panel area would cause water to get into the back seat (on seat and floor)? What would be good things to watch out for post-fix? It is still a bit damp and rainy here, so I can't open the windows for things to dry out. Would have been nice for the collision center to dry the seats. How can I make sure mold/mildew won't develop?
I have a 2006 Sonata and has trouble with the windshield seal or if it is usually just sunroof issues.
