Elantra GD (2013+) :: Noisy HVAC Fan / Squeaking?

Have a noisy HVAC fan? Mine squeaks and it's really annoying? Did your dealer honor the warranty repair?

View 9 RepliesI have a 2013 Elantra GT and I noticed the other days, couple of days, where we had really cold mornings when I started my car I could hear the valves or lifters tick ticking away. Now I know that when its cold it takes a few minutes for the thick oil to warm up but I was surprised at the noise. The car has about 200km and my wife's 2010 Elantra with about 40, 000 km doesn't make any.
View 9 RepliesI just bought a 2013 Elantra GLS last weekend. When the engine is running at idle and I'm standing outside of the car, the engine seems to be noisy. Maybe to the point where there is a small exhaust leak somewhere. I don't notice the noise when I'm driving the car - interior noise seems normal. Is it normal for the 1.8L engine to be a bit noisy at idle? The car just turned 100 miles.
View 5 RepliesI will have had my car 2 years in March so this is the 2nd winter. This happened last winter and now just happened again. This year has been pretty warm actually so this is the first cold snap. I don't have recirculate on so that's not an issue. I don't get a lot of snow or anything in the car either but I notice on some cold nights in the morning I have frost inside the windows, especially the windshield. I thought this morning when I left ( -18 C ) and hit a small pothole that it almost sounded like the windshield creaked.
The other thing is noisy valves / lifters. When it's cold and I first start the car my engine sounds kind of like a diesel or at least the vales seem noisy. I only have 23,000km and have religiously changed the oil every 5,000 km.
My GT is very quiet when running and I like that. However, the AC system seems noisy when it is on. When I turn on the fan and heater, I hear a distinct whining sound that increases in frequency as I increase speed. When I turn the fan off, the car is whisper quiet. Also, when I turn the AC on, I can hear what sounds like coolant circulating through the system. At first it sounded like it was coming from the glove compartment and I thought it might be associated with the glove-compartment cooling feature, but I don't believe it is. The noise is not unbearable but it is noticeable and distracting to me.
Is this a noisy climate-control system or is this something unique to my car.
My Elantra has about 5,500 miles on it now. I went on a road trip up to Washington D.C. during spring break about two weeks ago.
Anyway, it has been making a squeaking noise when I turn right at around 15-20 mph. It makes a sound similar to a swing when its swinging. It's slightly high pitched and sounds like it's metal on metal. It's getting kind of annoying and I think I might take it in to have it checked out.
I have a 2013 Camry SE that is, out of the blue, not blowing any air from the HVAC system. I checked the 2 A/C fuses any they are ok. The lights light up on the control panel like normal and the rear window defogger works correctly, so I don't think it's the control panel. I can't find any fuses or relays relayed to the blower motor in either fuse box.
What else should I check? The car is still under warranty (for a month!) but if it's a cheap and easy fix, I'd rather save the hassle of giving it to the dealer for a day and fix it myself.
My '13 GTI want to automatically turn on the a/c whenever I select fan on the climate controls. Am I missing something here? Can't I just have it in fan mode w/o the a/c coming on?
View 4 RepliesDuring the recent cold snap I have noticed that one of my HVAC fans has become audible and makes a squealing sound as it spins. If the radio is on loud enough you cannot hear it, but without if is ANNOYING to say the least. I know it is the HVAC fan for sure cause when it is switched off, it slows and stops with the fan. Should I wait it out and see if it disappears during the eventual return to warmer weather or have it replaced? If so, what is involved? Is it an easy fix or does the dash have to be removed to get at it? If it is the latter, I am inclined to wait and see if it goes away on its own..
View 5 RepliesMy 05 beta 2 (CVVT) lifters are a bit noisy. On startup its a bit loud but quiets down after it warms up, but its still there. Kinda sounds like it needs a valve adjustment. Not sure if there is another way around the noise. Like a full synthetic or a heavier weight oil?
View 2 RepliesBought a '13 RX 350 CPO from Rohrich Lexus in Pittsburgh. It has 16,800 miles on it. It's the wife's daily driver. She tells me the brakes are making noise today. I drive it...sure enough sounds like metal on metal coming from the left front. Like the pads are worn and they are scraping the rotor. No pulsation through the pedal though.
I used a pressure washer to make sure there is no brake dust build up or debris between the pads & rotor. The rotors look ok, no pitting or scoring. At 17K the pads CAN'T be worn already?! I'll jack it up tomorrow and take the wheel off for a better inspection.
By mistake I hit the manual gear on my camry 2013. Luckily traffic was bad so I was driving for a few minutes around 40 mph and reached 60. The engine was noisy but I didn't know what's going on until later. I switch back to auto mode and noise went away. How bad is that? Do I have to do sthg?
View 15 RepliesExperienced a noisy blower from the engine bay when turning on the A/C? It's kinda a squeaky noise. But when I turn off the A/C, just the fan...it doesn't sound as loud.
View 4 RepliesJust got rid of my 2011 Audi a4 for 2012 Elantra Limited with tech pkg. I like the car a lot but man is it noisy at highway speeds. Really makes phone calls and radio listening difficult.

Someone with a similar problem said it was a timing chain cover issue and someone else a cam shaft issue. It's a 2012 elantra limited 1.8L with 55000km the short block was replaced around 45000km.
How to replace this bad flex pipe....
View 25 RepliesI have elantra 2012 with approx mileage of 47,000 kms. I started to fell that the front suspension becoming noisy while driving slowely on the bumps and rough roads. This noise feels even on steering wheel that this has some connection to steering rod in somewhere.
I had took the car to local dealership here in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia where the kept the car for about a weak and return it say that the car is fixed, but the noise was there or came back in days only.
Second time, the same thing happened, approached the dealership they took and hand over the car, removing some air from all 4 tires a (which i have noticed). but the problem remains the same.
I have noticed as well that the car is not so stable on the roads while driving at different speeds.
My door hinges are noisy (creak sound) even more so since this spring mostly on the back doors. I've been using white lithium grease (lots of it) like it's suggested but it doesn't last (only a couple days) ...
View 11 RepliesThe front end of my 2013 Elantra GLS "Creaks" when I go over large bumps especially when the tires/springs extend - like when you go over a smooth rut in the road or if I make a sharp turn and the weight of the car shits to one side. Of course it doesn't happen all the time so that's the perfect excuse for the dealer to look the other way. I haven't taken it there yet because I know if I don't point them in the right direction it'll take 4 times as long to remedy the problem.
Anyway, temperature doesn't seem to affect as much but in the mornings when it's colder it's slightly more noticeable. I've tried to record the sound but that's easier said then done. I've push down on the front end to see if I could reproduce the sound but it doesn't happen when the shocks are compressed but rather when the spring extends. The creaking sounds like when you walk on a old wooden floor or opening an old door kinda thing. What it could be?
My 2002 Elantra Gls 1.8 got some weird sound coming from all 4 corners of the wheel... Recently I had replaced the front wheel bearing as the car goes very noisy when come into corners... But there still some knock... knock... sound after the car warming up especially from rear wheel.
I replaced all 4 absorbers 1 year ago as well as the tie-rods end... Still facing the same problems, the mechanic also don't know where to start...
What should I replace to settle the problem??? All the rubber bush??? Recently mileage on my car is 190000miles.
I leased a (non F-Sport) '15 GS about four months ago. Loving the GS so far except for one thing - the highway ride is rather busy and noisy, which does not at all suit the character of this car. I specifically avoided F-Sport package because I wanted a luxury car ride. My previous car, BMW 535i, had way quieter and smoother ride in spite of having run-flats. Go figure.
Can I get meaningful improvement by upgrading the OEM tires? The GS came with Bridgestore Turanza ER33. I'm thinking about replacing them with Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season Plus, which gets a lot of praise in Clublexus.
