Really like the Blind Spot Monitor system in the car. The visual part of with the mirrors works great but the volume part in the car is too low especially with radio on. I'm told by Dealership Service that it cannot be adjusted. I find this hard to believe especially seeing this is an all electronic system. There's got to be a way to have a volume control or menu control on it????

View 2 RepliesI just noticed this morning that both rear parking assist and BSD on my 2015 SFS Limited are not working. Other than the button near the shifter to turn off the audible alarm for parking, I don't recall any other buttons or settings that would turn both systems off. I won't have access to the user manual until later this evening. I did clean off the rear parking sensors but that didn't change anything. Am I missing something?? What's common? Perhaps a fuse?

On 5 or 6 occasions, during the 8 weeks I have owned it, a yellow warning light has appeared, together with a message on the Multifunction Display stating: "Check Blind Spot Monitoring System." While this is displayed, the BSM does not work. Turning the ignition off and then on again resolved the problem immediately each time, with one exception, when I had to do it twice. Pushing the On-Off button for the BSM on the left side of the dash did not resolve the problem.
Lately I've noticed the blind spot monitoring light in the mirrors is coming on randomly when I'm driving down the road with no cars around me.
When having my phone hooked via blue tooth and playing music the song will change over the speakers but the screen will still show the prior song I was listening to. Any thoughts?
I'm getting a little concerned that as this car ages all the sophisticated electronics might start failing.
The left side (driver's mirror) indicates and beeps if a car is in the blind spot however, the right mirror works sometimes and then does not. Also, it will "alert" once in a while and sporadically.
First, where are the sensors? Could I unplug for five minutes and let them reset? Second, this almost sounds like a software glitch?

View 8 RepliesCan't find the Blind Spot Monitoring system under settings. On page 139 of the Owner's Manual it says, "Make sure not to cancel the systems accidentally". And that's just what I've done. Now how do I get this back? And why would there be a way to "Cancel" a feature that can be turned ON/OFF?
View 1 RepliesI have a 2015 Avalon Limited. The BSM works fine during the day, but at night, if I raise the rear sunscreen to block headlights behind me, the driver's side BSM does not recognize cars in the blind spot. If the screen is lowered, everything is fine.
View 5 RepliesIn my 2010 Prius,My wife and I and another friend have noticed a blind spot behind the mirror on the windshield, such that I don't "see" drivers approaching from the right on a "4-way" intersection. I am a cautious driver, yet noticed several years ago that I occasionally started up across an intersection before the car on my right....I didn't SEE THEM.
This is because the mirror is mounted relatively low. I am only 6'1'' but my wife who is 5"10 also noticed this problem. In San Francisco, going down a hill, it is often hard to see a car approaching from the right. I am going to the dealer for something else and will ask that my mirror be remounted.
We're looking to buy a 2013 or 2014 RX350 and have a couple questions about equipment. Specifically, is blind spot monitoring standard equipment for either year 2013 or 2014 or is this an option?
If heated seats are listed as an option for an RX does this mean that "cooled" or Ventilated seats are automatically included for years 2013 or 2014? I ask because I've seen "heated" seats listed on Autotrader, but the controllers pictured include heated and cooled. Of the cars, we've looked at they only had both heated/cooled or nothing. We haven't seen heated only.
If the RX does NOT have heated seats, is the leather still perforated for 2013/2014 models or is it solid like previous years?
I am curious; is it NOT suppose to beep when BSM has detected a car and you try to put blinker on? Mine just blinks the icon on the mirror, which is not nearly as noticeable as a audible sound. Also, what about the backup camera? Obviously, this car has sensors... but why don't the beep?

View 14 RepliesI have annoying problem with the car feeling flat while driving it braking into a corner then coming out of the corner I feel I get no response from the pedal unless I push it down further. While pushing down a little further it roars out of the corner. I have noticed it more now because of the icy roads when I have traction control turned off. Push pedal down slightly with no response, then push 1mm further and the tires spin slowly.
I performed my own test in neutral of the auto transmission. While idling at usual idle speed, push pedal slowly and stop, kept doing this a little further each time to see what the rpm was reading. Finally it went from Idle speed under 1000 rpm and shot up to over 3000 rpm? I tried this dozens of times and could not rev the engine to anything between idle speed and roughly 3 grand. Took to dealer "no codes" I believe this will affect fuel consumption.
I was wondering do any black color touch up paint works on the black color spot on the side mirror?

This is possibly A/C-related because we are running the climate control on auto every time we drive? Our car is brand new and has about 400kms on it.

There was a shiny spot in the middle of the dash, so I took some Dawn dish washing liquid and a micro fiber towel and gently tried to remove the shiny spot. Well, after I wiped it with clean water, it dried as a whitish spot now, as if some of the dye came off! Any remedy for this mistake I did?
View 14 RepliesAbout 3 weeks into the new 13 Elantra. Liking it pretty good. I seem to be hearing a noise of some sort. Almost sounds like a flat spot on a tire. Seems to be more rapid the faster I go and more or less noticeable on different types of asphalt. Didn't really notice it at first. The only thing I did was let some air out of the tires. They had almost 40 psi when I got it. They call for 32.

The 3 year/36,000 mile paint warranty included with the purchase of the Elantra should take care of this, correct? It's small so I was gonna sand it down myself and use a touch-up pen, but now having second thoughts. Should I take it to the dealership instead?
