View 11 RepliesIt's been quite hot here for a while now (30-34 degrees C, summer) and I noticed that even in the evenings when the outside temp as dropped to a pleasant 25-28 degrees C (still nice for on the beach) that if I do not use the aircon that the normal air blower/vents blow pretty hot air. Like a hair-dryer hot. Certainly hotter than the air outside.
I suspect that either the pollen filter is getting hot because it's in the engine-bay and that filter heats the otherwise cold air from outside.
Trying to save the environment by not always using the A/C
So the question ; if it's hot outside, and your engine is warm, do the vents also blow hotter air into the car than the normal outside air?
Have experienced really annoying buzzing when listening to the stereo when it's noticeably cold out? I know the car is cold ( it's been below zero in MN for most of the week) but if there is remotely any bass, I hear this faint buzzing from the doors that is driving me insane, I hope I'm not the only one? Had the car for a month and aside from that it's been great.
View 5 RepliesI might trade this '13 Elantra GT for a '14 or '15. Too many problems. I knew I shouldn't have bought a first year model.
When the engine is cold, the clutch slips. When it warms up, the clutch is strong like how it should be. Having a slipping clutch when engine is cold? My car only has 7,000 miles and I drive conservatively.
When starting the car and ONLY when it's a cold start, like sitting overnight, it makes this weird "groaning" or "whining" noise. I took a video of it because if I drive it to the dealer, then start the car there, it's not going to do it as it only happens after a long period of being off. Listen really closely after the car starts and right before the radio comes on, you will hear a faint groaning noise. It's louder in person, but this is the best I could do.

I'm new to this whole working on my car thing and I would like to add some stuff to my car. Is it even possible to get a cold air intake on a 2006 VW Passat 2.0T ? If so i cant find one anywhere.
View 10 RepliesSo I was driving down the highway on my way to work today and this thing fell off my car and I ran it over. It has a part number and it says that it is some kind of an air duct housing. I looked underneath the car and it was right inside of the driver's side wheel well.
My questions is, is this something I need to replace? The hose is still there, and the housing up top with the air filter is still fine. To me it just looks like this was something to keep the hose in place that draws air in.
The car is pretty beat up from an accident, but still only has 140,000 miles and runs well so I think it has a few years left, but I'm trying to keep costs down since it is just my "beater" car I drive to work.
I installed an Injen cold air intake and 2 days later, the check engine light went on. I had it reset at the dealer and next day, again. Am I stuck with this or is there a way to keep it off, other than putting back the original air box?
View 18 RepliesSo I dont have the money to but a new intake, I am having problems with water getting into my cold air intake under the car. What i could do or something cheap to buy to prevent this problem??
View 13 RepliesI have a 337 with Injen cai. Well, I have since removed the cai due to the fact that rainwater/water during a car wash will run off the hood and onto the top of the inside of the drivers side fender (under hood) and eventually run down onto the filter itself, thus causing it to become water logged. This of course is not good. My question.. I've tried so many things to no avail.
View 7 RepliesAfter installing my cai, I couldn't find where to put this breather hose, I'm lost to if I need it and where to put it...
View 2 RepliesNeed to know the part number to F Sport Cold Air intake for a 2006 GS300?
I have the car since day one and absolutely loved it since. Starting finally to a couple of Mods, recently installed a Strut Tower Bar, this weekend installing F-Sport Sway Bars (front and rear).
What does it mean when you find oil in in the cold air intake, is this normal?
View 14 RepliesI would like to install a cold air intake in my 2011 Ford Ranger. What brand should I go for? Volant or K&N?
View 4 RepliesJust bought a 2005 Toyota echo 2 door. I'm getting it this week, just getting detailed and all that good stuff. I want to add mods to it, such as cold air intake, muffler and much more. Sadly it's an automatic but it will do. Any link to a website for a cold air intake?
View 2 RepliesI have a 77 bronco with a 5.0 efi engine from a 97 Ford Explorer. I noticed there is oil in the cold air intake area and upper intake manifold. I was checking on things and noticed oil around the PCV valve and on the outside of the cold air intake system. Should I be concerned about this? I have done some research. I checked the PCV valve and intake manifold gasket which appear to look fine.
The PCV valve rattles and the gasket is intact. Granted there isn't a lot of oil when I looked inside the upper intake manifold but thought I should write and ask if this is a problem or not. Should I just replace them pcv valve any ways and recheck it after driving it for a few miles? The explorer did have 110K on it but when we took it apart we thought the engine looked great for how many miles it had on it. We did change out the cam and timing chain but as far as the other parts, we did not replace.
I am also getting a unusual reading to not reading with my oil gauge. When driving for a about 30 minutes or so, My oil gauge goes down to zero when I'm stopped but when I'm drive off then the pressure comes back up. When I have it in park the gauge reads fine.
Today me and my son installed a new K&N air intake on his 98' passat 1.8t, everything looks good but when you start it up the engine does not idle properly and it now starting to smoke.. Also it is leaking some sort of black gunk out of the exhaust pipe, we didn't drive it but when you give it some gas it hardly accelerates.
View 4 RepliesWhistle thru intake. I have a f150 2005 with a 5.4 and it likes to whistle when cold weather when I press the gas it goes away until it idles down?
View 11 Repliesso new motor new intake , rear passenger side decides to leak when roughly about 10 degrese or lower and being -13 yesterday and-18 this morning.

I put in a cold air intake in my 05 5.4l. Now truck will start up then die, the throttle doesnt seem to open up when i step on the gas. everything was working fine before I started on it.
View 4 RepliesI have an 01 Accent GL 1.6L. It will not turn over. Battery, terminals, and wires are all new. Alternator is also good. There is a buzzing noise coming from beside the cold air intake. I'm not sure what part that is. The part that is buzzing is where the cam position sensor is connected to. It also has wires that run into the firewall.
