Have a 2004 Dodge Sprinter. Headlights not working unless turning on the bright lights and also left blinkers are on. At this point if bright lights are turned off then the headlights working.
View 3 RepliesI just bought a 97 Dodge Ram 1500. The Tail lights work when I just have running lights on, but don't work when I pull the light switch out far enough for the headlights to come on. Also, and probably related, the dashboard and radio lights don't work at all. I replaced the switch assembly already and that didn't fix the problem (i didn't use the supplied wiring though, only the switch). The previous owner used it to pull his boat so the rear end may have been backed into the water. The brake and reverse lights.
View 3 RepliesWe have a 2004 Dodge Sprinter 2500 Van 5 Cylinder Mercedes Turbo Diesel. Just recently, at 68,400 miles, the engine stopped abruptly (on the freeway) and various instrument panel lights turned on. When we tried to start the van again, the instrument panel lights turned on again, and there was a humming coming from under the hood. After letting the van sit for awhile, it started normally, but the engine control unit light remained on. We took it in to a nearby Dodge dealer and the mechanic recommended replacing the fuel filter. We had the filter replaced.
The engine has not stopped abruptly anymore, however, when we try to start the van immediately after shutting it down, sometimes it will not start. Instrument panel lights light up, and there is a humming coming from under the hood again. After letting the van sit for awhile longer, the van starts normally.
Previously, at 34,150 miles, the engine control unit light went on when the engine was started and stayed on for about 250 miles. The van drove normally during this time. The same thing happened at 59,100 miles and the light stayed on for about 250 miles again.
I have a customer that brought this in when he was pulled over by the police. The brake lights burn bright when turning on the headlights. When I unplug the the wiring harness at the left rear the right tail lamp lights up as regular tail lights the left turns off. The voltage at harness when tail light on is 10 wher as the voltage when the brake lights are on is 8.65.

View 1 RepliesI have a 2006 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer with Towing Package. I just recently bought a Trailer and when they tested my 7 pin plug, I was only getting Running lights and 12v Charging. Im not getting Left/Right Blinkers or Brake. There is NO power. I checked all Fuses. The problem is, I cant find the Blinker/Brake fuse. The manufacture book does not show one.

We take the Sprinter on long trips, and now we hold our breaths while starting the engine.
I have had my 2005 Dodge Sprinter, 2500, with 214,000 miles, for one month. When I bought it the seller told me that after I drove it for a while it would become sluggish and not keep up to 70MPH. I have found that when this happens it may slow down to 50MPH going up a hill and takes a while to get back up to 65+ on the flat. Sometimes it goes into slug mode when I cannot accelerate normally in heavy city traffic. Slug mode happens at all speeds. When it happens I can get back to peppy mode by shifting into neutral, turning the engine off, coasting and turning the engine on. I tried this because I noticed when I stopped to go in a store and shut the engine off, it was peppy even if if the stop is only a few minutes.

The heater appears to start working, since we can hear and smell the burner, but the heating ceases within a few minutes. The unusual sounds continue until the heater is turned off.
View 3 RepliesI drive a 2006 Dodge Sprinter, 3500 with dual wheels. When changing from park to drive, the gears would not automatically shift from first to second gear. The engine kept revving, so I stopped the vehicle, and started it again. No problem. I spoke with a retired mechanic (friend of mine's father) and he said we should probably change the transmission fluid. When I called the dealer, he said they could do it but that he also saw problems arise when the fluid was changed on vehicles with high mileage (it has 225,000 miles on it).
Should I go ahead and change the fluid, or not?
I recently purchased my first car/jetta. When i switch the knob to turn on the instrument lights on my 2000 jetta the headlights don't come on. But when i turn the knob off the auto headlights turn on. Any insight on this? when i first got the car everything was working fine. It only started to happen after I replaced the radiator.

We the car was started and she drove off, the Day Time running lights were not on. Will the DRL not work with the FOG lights on? Am I missing something?
View 19 RepliesFor some reason my headlights and fog lights dont work as well as the turn signals, however the marker lights and 4ways do. The ac and fan also dont work. This all happened at once yesterday. I checked the fuses and they are fine. They must not be getting any power.
View 7 RepliesI have an 07 Camry LE and I bought a Kensun H11 HID slim ballast kit they worked great for a while but I had one go out on the passenger side, the ballast stopped working so I bought another kit and replaced both sides with brand new bulbs and ballasts so I would know they both would work as they are supposed to This worked for a while then suddenly the drivers side light is no longer as bright as the passenger side I tried replacing the bulb with a spare new one I had and still same light output I know overlap makes the passenger side look brighter but even against the wall they're different
You can see in the pics how one is a nice bright light with the cutoff and the other looks more like a reflection of the light I still have stock projectors by the way and I know I still need to do the squirrel spotters but not yet sure of best way to do it
Find that the elantra headlights aren't bright. I have a 2011 Elantra GL and find my headlights are very dim compared to other modern cars.
View 15 RepliesThe stock headlights on my 02' Elantra GLS Automatic were not bright enough, I could barely see anything at night. So in December I put in Silverstar 55w bulbs. In May the passenger side bulb died. I warranty replaced the bulb. The same bulb died again last week. I replaced it again with the same bulbs. Is it possibly my car can only handle 35W bulbs, or wiring issues, or faulty fuse? Not sure whats going on.

View 1 RepliesI have a 2006 Sonata, last night I was driving and when using my high beam headlights they would stay bright and then dim then brighten up again. The battery has not been replaced since I have had this car, but I didn't know if it could be the battery, alternator or maybe the headlights? They work fine on regular beam, no dimming on this setting.

View 3 RepliesI have a 2001 Dodge Caravan. When I put my turn signal on all the dashboard lights fail and the gauges drop as if the van was powered off. After a couple seconds they come back on, then the seat belt reminder ding goes off. I've tried things like replacing fuses, checking the headlights and seeing if a wire or bulb was the issue. Found some wiring in the passenger side seat belt panel and thought that may have been the issue. The blinkers were working for a bit.
Recently they began failing again and so I've just messed with any wire I could find; maybe there's a poor connection or something. I saw some other discussion posted on blinkers and my hazard lights seem to have something to do with this; occasionally if I press the hazard lights the gauges will react slightly; they jump up a little. It's a hit and miss; sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. I feel very unsafe and would hate to be responsible for someone rear-ending me because my blinkers didn't work.
