Corolla / Matrix 2009-13 :: Seat Cushion Covers - Replaceable?
Oct 16, 2013
I had a bottle of Draino spill on my passenger seat, and now I have these big white stains that don't come off.. and the Draino ate through my seat cover. How do I get this fixed? Do they sell the seat cover as it comes with the vehicle OEM?

I have a corolla 2009 and everything has been running great except that we found a falling part under the car yesterday. I don't know where the part came from or if it's even part of the car. Tell me if it's a major problem or something minor or a non-issue.
This was found under the passenger side under the car pretty much where the middle of the door is. [URL] …..

I have a 2010 corolla s and only one of the rear seats drops down when I pull the corresponding latch in the trunk. On the side that does not work, the latch still appears to "pull" out the same amount as the latch that works, except the seat won't release and drop down.

My aunt somehow managed to drop coins that landed on/in the driver's seat track. How would I be able to remove the coins? Also, are there any electric wires I should know of before beginning the process?

I've noticed a noise coming out of the rear seat for awhile now. Noticed today the driver side rear seat won't latch into position. Don't know how long it was like that. Even the lever inside the trunk is stuck in the closed position. It seems like I shouldn't be able to fold the seat down but I can't get it to close. The dealer said it would be a time consuming fix because they actually have to crawl inside the trunk to get to the assembly.

If your experiencing a clicking noise coming from the lower right side of your driver seat, more noticeable over rough roads with pressure applied to the backrest, read on. After much trial and error troubleshooting, here's what worked for me.
I removed the tension on a small clock like spring located on the driver seat back right side pivot point. Since having done so, no more annoying clicking sound and I haven't noticed any difference or adverse side-effect in seat operation /adjustment. I've got photos....

I am a two Corolla owner. I have a 2004 with 205, 000 kms and a 2010 with 70,000 kms. By far, my favourite car to drive is the 2004. The build quality is by far better. I could list other issues or pt peeves of mine about the 2010.
My 2010 is giving me some issues.
For starters my seat and console squeak like crazy. About 10, 000 kms ago I had the dealer try to deal with it under a TBS.
The next issue I have is that when I turn my steering wheel I hear a low pinging noise!
Lastly, in my trunk that plastic pieces that hold the trunk latch cable to the trunk arm have broken.
As for those plastic pieces in the trunk, what the part numbers might be?

I own a 2010 Toyota Corolla LE. I've noticed recently that the driver's seat moves either forwards or backwards when coming to a stop. The movement is not dramatic, but sure is noticeable and annoying. I took the car into the dealership, and they told me if this problem was not caused by the car itself and was occurring because of me, they will charge me around 125 dollars for a diagnosis charge. I took the car right out. Is it just normal wear? My solution was to remove the whole seat and see if there are any loose nuts. By the way, the seats are manual.

Am I still the only one with an irritating scrunchy sound coming from the left bolster of the driver's seat back?
When the temperature is above 0 Celsius the bolster makes a scrunchy squeak every time I lean back, accelerate, or take off from a stop.
It would appear to be the supplemental air bag material rubbing against the foam or upholstery of the seat.
Toyota says this should be under warranty, but it has been too cold out lately to demonstrate to the service dept.
I know that I could fix it by removing the factory seat cover and tweaking the air bag placement somewhat, but this is not as easy as it sounds, potentially dangerous, and if it is under warranty, I'd prefer the "experts" to address the problem.

Lately I've really been noticing these bars and sharp points being able to be felt through the seat cushion on the driver's seat. I had the dealership replace the seat cushion recently cos it was already deformed (< 2 years), and now I feel several bars through the cushion (along the seams in the seat cover). The bars were able to be felt before they replaced the cushion; I thought maybe replacing the cushion would fix this problem somehow. No luck.
To be specific, I feel these bars when sitting on the seat normally. It's getting annoying.
Passenger seat feels fine. I would be surprised if this is normal for the driver's seat, if so, *bad* seat design.
I feel an entire seat replacement is warranted perhaps. Car is still under warranty (3 years / 36K).

I need to replace my drivers seat because of a broken seat mount.
I found a used seat on eBay but there is a rip in the seat cushion. If I bought the seat, can if just swap the seat cushion with my old seat? If so, how difficult would that be to do?

I want to remove the rear seat bottom cushion of a 2012 Camry L, to put on some seat covers. Do I just grasp the front center of the cushion and pull up, or will that break something?

Elantra GT ... Most of the time I leave the right side rear seat folded down. Every once in a while I need to return it to the normal upright configuration. That goes fine, but then later when I try to fold the seat down again the cushion (the one that you sit on) gets stuck and I have a hard time folding the seat back down again. I yank on the strap, pulling forward, upward etc. and it doesn't do anything.
Eventually, and seemingly at random, the cushion pops loose and I can fold the seat down. I can't figure out where it is getting stuck. Can I lubricate the metal parts with silicone spray or Lemon Pledge or something (I wouldn't want to use anything greasy that would get on the seat cushions)? Yes, I read the owners manual and I am following the proper procedure for folding/unfolding the seat.

Yesterday, after lifting back my rear seat backrest (40% section) I found out that the seat cushion moved forward and now I just can't find a way to put it back into place.

My '99 Explorer XL has the standard bucket seats. After having two owners (first one '99-09, then me '09-present) climbing in and out over 11 years and 95,000 miles, the driver's seat has broken down on the left side near the reclining lever. Every time I go around a right turn, I feel like Im going to tip over against the driver's door. Is there a replacement cushion for these Explorers?

So I want to disable the ABS on my Corolla. I was wondering if I could pull the fuse in my bonnet to disable the ABS and if I were to do so which fuse would I pull.
I think if I were to pull the fuse from the interior, the other car features that are tied into the fuse wouldn't work.
If I can't pull the fuse in the bonnet, what are the other ways I could disable ABS? I read that removing the relay is an option.
Also is there anything I should know if I were to reactivate ABS? For instance, would the ABS light be off when I presumably reactivate it or do I need to perform some extra steps to remove the ABS light?

I was wondering would the 2.4 2az-fe fit in to my 1.8 corolla I want to get a bare block or blown engine and build it up and turbo it and then put it into my corolla. Would the 2.4 bolt up in place of the 1.8 and if so where I can get a bare block or a complete engine?

09 le 1.8 135k miles. Had serpentine belt break while driving home, pulled over, had car pulled in on a trailer. Pulled old belt and found water pump was bad along with belt broken. replaced both, car would fire off as should, but would still run hot while leaving parked running. pulled thermostat, found it would not open until about 15 degrees above opening temp. replaced thermostat, now car will turn but won't start.
Disconnected battery to try and clear any codes that would prevent it from starting, still won't start. have had to charge battery a couple times so wondering if it's the battery not having enough charge to start car up? i wouldn't think so, and it doesn't make sense for it to be plugs since it was starting up without a problem before changing thermostat.

The air coming out when the on the drivers side is significantly warmer than the air coming out on the passenger side when the A/C is cranked to four. At times it is borderline hot unless I kick back the setting to a two or three and then the sides even out a bit more, but it still seems like the right side of the car is much cooler.
