I got Corolla 2012. Dome light fuse 10 amp is blowing off as soon as you put it in. Light bulbs checked seems it is not a problem. Maybe relay?
View 11 RepliesEvery time I replace the fuse(under the hood) it blows almost immediately and no interior light work. When on all doors and overhead lights do work so I don't believe it's one of them shorting. Even tried bigger fuse.
View 5 RepliesI attempted to remove a 7.5 amp fuse from the interior panel under the dash on the left side. Using the fuse removal tool in from the fuse block under the hood, I grabbed one and worked it out slowly.
When I got it out, the metal prongs were broken off of the plastic housing. I thought this was weird and looked into the fuse block trying to see if I can see the prongs. No luck!
I attempted to pull another fuse to see if it will come out and sure enough, the metal prongs are broken off in the fuse block. I tried again to see if I could see the the prongs but again, no luck!
I put the plastic housing (top half of the fuse) back into the slot and the electronics for that fuse is working. However, I am concerned that something is wrong and causing the fuses to break when attempting to pull them out.
My sis has a 09 corolla le and was fine until 4months back. Her STOP fuse #9 would blow. She took it in to toyota, they replace her fuse for her and let her go.. A month later it happen she took it back and they replace it again, so about a week later it happen. Now the Toyota guy tries to check it and but cant find out the problem and tells her that she needs to go see an electrician... he replace for her and gave her extras for the long run... recently until now it was running fine, then it happen again, the #9 fuse blew up yesterday and today!... Her brake lights won't come on when she steps on it and it wont go into drive from park unless she press on that bypass switch.. I know that there could be a shortage somewhere..

View 1 RepliesDid a search and read the manual and I cant seem to turn of the dome lights when I open the doors. For example... Sometimes my daughter falls asleep and I want to open the door at night without the lights coming on... Or If the mosquitoes are going crazy I might want to turn off the light so I don't get killed... I know I can hold the switch to the right and it turns lights on with doors closed, and hold for a second to the left to turn off. But what about opening the door? I know my old 2007 was able to do this function...

But when I connect the negative wire to a metal part the light turns on and doesn't turn off unless i take it off. I want to make the lights turn on when i turn on the fog lights. View 2 RepliesI just replaced the alternator on my car last week, and thought the electrical bugs were gone. Today, I tried to replace the two rear dome lights with LED bulbs. I removed the original bulb, put the new one in and noticed that it did not work...so I put the old one back in and noticed it was no longer working either (everything was fine before I took the old one out).
I then tried to turn on the dome/map lights by the rear view mirror, and those won't come on anymore either. I then tried to close the door and lock it with my key remote, but it also no longer functions. Even if I "manually" lock the doors from the inside (via the lock button on the door panel OR actually pressing the lock down into its hole) they just pop back up and won't lock. Obviously I do not want to leave my car like this as someone can now open it and get in... Does this problem sound like a blown fuse? If it doesn't sound like a blown fuse, what else could it be?
Toyota corolla 2013 automatic gear reverse lights don't work after I installed new stereo it's my fault i shorted 12v positive backup (reverse) light trigger camera stereo v12+ cable to ground while backup (gear R) in place. As a result reserve lights don't work beside gear indicator doesn't show on main screen. I can drive without problem but problem still intact.
I checked all fuses and they are all okay I need to identify problem or possible repair too I only find 2 fuses behind glove box i think they call "instrument panel" there are bunch of cable and underneath of cables there is only 2 rectangle shape fuses I could not see anything else, the other fuse box is in engine compartment i thoroughly tested each small fuses they are all okay is there anything else i forgot to check ?

My interior lights, including mirror lights and overhead interior light keep blowing my fuse. This is the 3rd fuse that's gone in a month. I am out of warranty finally. Would it be safe to upgrade the 5 amp to a 7 or 10 amp fuse. I am not about to chase down a possible short through my headliner/dash...
View 14 Replies2005 Nissan Quest with 80k. No interior dome/map or door lights work. The instrument cluster and center column lights all work. Basically all the bright lights are gone but you can see speed, radio, etc. Have changed every fuse inside the van with no luck. Inspected the fuses in the engine compartment and none seem to be bad. This all happened after i some IKEA boxs, wonder if something got knocked loose that i cant find.
View 4 RepliesSo today I was driving around and suddenly my VSC ABS and Brake light came on. I thought it was because I didn't engage my e brake so I stopped pulled it up and put it down. It was still there but disappeared after a while
Then later it came back up. This time I went to slow down and pull aside. While slowing down my car suddenly had a grinding/jerking noise and motion.
Now my passenger HID doesn't work. Also when I turn off car it kind of shudders/shakes.
Could it be a voltage issue?My brakes are kind of going bad. I switched the builds around by putting the driver bulb into the passenger bulb and it works. So is that a bulb issue or is it related to the VSC?
I noticed my tail light isnt working, so I decided to change the bulb. And bought a 7443LL Sylvania bulb from Oreilly. Fits perfectly but noob that hasnt opened a car before. Old bulb is greyish, I guess its blown out or something. I change both bulb because you buy them in pairs. Anyhow, I thought its the bulb is the problem but now its not. Since both break light and tail are of the same bulb but tail light isnt working. So I figured the bulb isn't the culprit. I called a friend and he says its the fuse. Found the fuse, bought and replace the fuse. I turn on the car, tail light is still not working. Check the new fuse, its blown, put another one, the same thing happen. It keeps blowing my tail light fuse everytime I start the car. Im quite sure I got the right 7443, its dual filament bulb (I can see 4 wires at the base and 2 string that would light up for tail and break.
Is there 2 fuse for the tail light, I only found one by the break pedal, its just below the turn signal/hazard relay.
My daughter's 2010 Corolla has an issue . She was driving and the battery light came. She kept driving and the car finally stopped. Prior to stopping the power steering stopped. I checked under the hood. I found corrosion on the positive battery post. I cleaned it and put a new end on and replaced the battery. The red battery light is still on which I guess indicates we need a new alternator. The power steering still doesn't work.Will a bad alternator keep the power steering from working? Could there be a fuseable link or relay for the electric power steering some where I should check? I hope the alternator is the fix. I checked on a new power steering motor which is part of the rack and assembly. I hope I don't have to replace these.
View 3 RepliesWe just purchased a used 2010 LE model a couple weeks ago and for the first time actually drove it during the night. So I decided to check out how the fog lights look. Problem is, when I turned them on it didn't light up any of the road between the low beams and the front bumper of the car. In fact acted kind of acted as high beams. They are currently aimed higher than my low beams!!!
This doesn't seem right to me.
- Were the lights installed upside down?
- They should be lighting up the area on the road between my low beams and front bumper correct?
- Is it possible that they are able to be aimed that high if installed correctly?
I'm at my wit's end trying to install cruise control in my 2009 Corolla. I thought it was a relatively easy install, but then after putting the airbag in place, I find that the horn no longer works. I test out the cruise control, and the green "Cruise" lights up on the dashboard..but it doesn't actually work.
