Whenever I use the pandora app on the nav system my speakers always make a popping/cracking sound. It's not too loud but it can get a little annoying after a while. I do listen to my music loud but I don't think it's the speakers because when I switch to satellite radio or listen to my iPod, the popping stops.
View 3 RepliesI have cd radio and aux all working on my 2010 corolla, the sound do not come from speakers. I tried another radio it works. I tried another stereo with tape in it it doesn't work. I tried my stereo on another car it works. What I don't understand is why only stereo with radio only works but if i have cd or tape player with it don't.
View 9 RepliesI have an '09 Corolla S with the non-JBL sound system, 6 disk in-dash changer and 6 speakers. I am getting no sound from the speakers except a small burst of static when I turn the ignition on and once in a while sporadic static. The Radio is still playing CD's, FM, Etc, but no sound. All fuses are good and the clock works. I disconnected the factory iPod interface and still nothing. I also tried a different aftermarket HU, but still no sound... I'm on the road all the time so I'm over 50,000k and there is no warranty left on the radio. I've also torn the dash out checking wires and connections and can't seem to find anything abnormal.

View 3 RepliesI have a 2009 corolla XRS with the JBL speaker package and recently received a new stereo GPS unit from eonon, the GM5169.[URL] Their website says its suppose to work with the model car and year, but did not say anything about not working with the JBL speakers.
When I went to install it yesterday the wiring harness did not match up with the set up that was already in the original stereo. The only one that did connect was the controls for the steering wheel.
Occasionally, when I play songs, I hear my speakers kind of buzzing, where they sound like they are going bad.
Its super annoying, but I can't think how to replicate it. Any way to show them or what should I do?
My warranty would cover this, right?
Also, if I have installed footwell LEDs, might they argue about that effecting my warranty or anything?
My 2013 corrolla s speakers seem to be malfunctioning.
Symptoms:
50% of the time there is static coming from the front right speaker and all other speakers are mute.
40% of the time there is no sound.
10% of the time the speakers are fine.
Steps taken this far:
Cleaned the ground underneath the battery.
My dad who is a mechanic says possibly a stereo issue while I think it's a connectivity issue. How to diagnose the problem and salvage my speakers.
I have a OEM base model head unit and today both front speakers stopped working out of nowhere I pulled the head unit out to see if everything was plugged in and it all was snug.. I checked all the fuses too. Is there any other way to check to see if its my head unit thats bad or the speakers? And I guess my second question is if I replace my head unit with a aftermarket one do I still need to retain the stock unit? My sunfire had that problem I needed to put my oem radio in the trunk and hook it into my new aftermarket one. I did try adjusting the fade and all the setting too with no luck.
View 3 RepliesSo today I was driving around and suddenly my VSC ABS and Brake light came on. I thought it was because I didn't engage my e brake so I stopped pulled it up and put it down. It was still there but disappeared after a while
Then later it came back up. This time I went to slow down and pull aside. While slowing down my car suddenly had a grinding/jerking noise and motion.
Now my passenger HID doesn't work. Also when I turn off car it kind of shudders/shakes.
Could it be a voltage issue?My brakes are kind of going bad. I switched the builds around by putting the driver bulb into the passenger bulb and it works. So is that a bulb issue or is it related to the VSC?
Got a 2010 Corolla S (105k mi) . I have a noise in the front end. I hear it occasionally when I'm braking, and other times when I'm turning left. Just started tonight. I really need to get this fixed before I go out of town in a few weeks. Don't want to leave my wife with am unsafe car.
Anyway the sound varies, sometimes it's more noticeable then others. The first time I heard it I thought I ran over something metal. It has a sound as if someone pulled on a bar and let go and it sprung into place.

I just bought a 09 Corolla S a month ago. In the last few days I've been hearing a popping/knocking noise while I'm driving. It sounds like it is coming from one of the wheels but which one. It usually happens once I decelerate or driving at low speeds. If I brake the noise will stop. The rhythm of the noise doesn't seem to be consistent with speed I'm driving. It happens more often on bumpy roads but it still happens on smooth roads. I'm wondering what are the possible problems that are could cause this?
I don't know if this would relate to the sounds I mentioned but when I bought this car it had brake problems. It would grind pretty loud. The dealership ended up replacing new rear drums. So when I drove it home everything sounded good for about a week. The grinding noise came back and after I sprayed some brake cleaner it went away for a few days. I'm assuming thats what the dealership did to hide the noise. I went ahead and changed the front pads and that worked for a week or so...but the grinding noise is back. I was about to change my rotors this weekend when the popping/knocking sound I mentioned above started happening.
Have a 2010 Corolla, 42k miles, from a dead stop, turn left under power with wheel about 90% of one full turn, get a clunking popping clicking noise from the front end -- I cannot tell if from the left or right side -- I've been in the back seat too, and cannot determine if the noise is coming from the left or right side up front. I've had the car since 34k miles, has been making this sound ever since, not sure if its gotten worse, if it has, maybe just a little.
No noise if turning while NOT under power (coasting). No noise if turning to the right. No noise while driving in a straight line or veering left at a higher speed. Also, I tried to recreate this noise from a dead stop, turning going in reverse, both left and right, and no noise ever.
If in a parking lot, from a dead start, turn wheel left almost one full turn, accelerating slowly I can get the car to make this sound continuously (until I start going too fast beyond my comfort zone).
Have looked under car jacked up several times, nothing obvious. CV axles have minimal play and the boots are in great shape. Suspension parts appear ok.
My gut tells me could be a CV axle, but not certain, and I don't know which side..... something else that could cause this ?
im looking for spacers on my xrs, and i want to know with STOCK suspension if i can put in wheel spacers and wont rub with stock rims and tires(17") and what are the maximum thickness i can use
second sound system! when i use my 6 speaker oem radio, the sound is automatically adjusted when going to max, meaning the bass goes down ect(with asl off) is there any way to prevent this? and i was thinking of going subs and 4channel amp, but i still want to use my steering wheel controls! is there any 2din(full facia) radio with ipod control/touch and steering wheel controls out there?and for speakers is there any problem switching out the tweeters?(for the rest i am quite good :P)
Have a 2010 Matrix with the blulogic added by the dealer, has worked fine till last week when all sound cut out. Radio lights, shows station, volume, i even get sound for 5 seconds when starting, then nothing. If I play music thru my iPhone, it works perfect. What changed, seems like a setting of some sort?

View 13 RepliesI bought a Kicker 6x9 speakers rated 300watts for the rear of my Corolla 2009, i did not feel any changes in sound and power of the stereo, i tap the stock speakers too just to compare but it sound the same to me even on a 40 and above volume.
View 8 RepliesI have this weird sound. Only does it when the car is at 5mph. The sound is like having a broken strut. Already changed on both sides Ball joint, Links and Struts.

I bought my 06 Corolla LE last week and just started hearing a nasty squeaking sound whenever I applied the brakes. I took it to the dealer today and 4 hours later he calls me and tells me that he had to readjust my back brakes and lube them up and it should be fine..About a half hour into driving the car around town I start hearing this noise again. Now he's telling me to bring back in the morning to see what the issue is.
My question is besides the brake pads and rotors which were checked by another mechanic that said they were good what the hell could be the issue?
I recently bought a 09 corolla le and when the car is at 55-70 mph and probably other times too, a clicking sound starts. It sounds like a relay picking up and dropping out. So at this speed if I lift my foot it stops or decreases in frequency. When I press accelerator it increases in frequency.
It sounds like it is coming from passenger kick panel or behind glove box. I looked behind kick panel and did not see any relays. I could've over looked it.
There's a lot going on behind the glove box but didn't really see many if any relays. One thing that got my attention was a white cube with what may be a red led at the top of the dash behind the glove box. I also have not taken the time to drive and investigate.
I am having an issue where when I turn my car on after its been sitting up for several hours, it makes a noise similar to if you held something to a fan blade or bike spoke while it was turning. The sounds last a couple seconds and only happens after the car has been sitting for several hours.
View 7 RepliesTook my 2010 Corolla in to have it looked at since it has recently developed a clicking/thumping sound when I make a sharp right turn (it's intermittent, but frequent enough to be noticed).
The shop I took it to said the source of the noise was the CV axle, but that after inspection, they didn't see anything really wrong with it, so they recommended simply putting up with the noise to save money, and to keep an eye on it and replace it if/when it actually begins showing signs of significant wear.
