Corolla / Matrix 2009-13 :: Car Is Bouncy After Installing Coilover
Jan 12, 2016
I just installed BC BR type coilovers on my 2010 Toyota Corolla S and now even driving at 55 on a smooth highway my car is a bit bouncy. Its really bouncy if I hit a dip or hole. The dampening setting is still at factory setting which is 8 clicks from full hard. I haven't lowered the car anymore than just putting the coilovers on so its about .5-1 inch lower than stock I would say.

I just got my bc extreme drop kit installed, after taking out struts i imagined my corolla would be lighter and faster cuz the struts weigh way more than the coilovers, but when i drove it for first time after install, i noticed the acceleration is weaker and not as responsive, why this is? is it supposed to be like that, whats happening?

So last week I bought and installed a set of Megan EZ street coilovers for my 2011 corolla s. Everything was installed correctly and I lowered them as far as they would go without messing with the spring preload. They don't rub and I don't bottom out and everything was going fine until I pulled the wheels off to re plasti-dip them. At this point I noticed that the end link tab on my front right coil-over was bent. After doing some research I have found that this is a common problem when you lower a car and don't adjust the sway bar preload with adjustable end links. However I have looked high and low on the internet and cant find adjustable end links for a 2011 corolla. I can try and bend the tab back before it breaks or if it does break I can re-weld it back on but I don't want the problem to persist.

I have a 2009 corolla XRS with the JBL speaker package and recently received a new stereo GPS unit from eonon, the GM5169.[URL] Their website says its suppose to work with the model car and year, but did not say anything about not working with the JBL speakers.
When I went to install it yesterday the wiring harness did not match up with the set up that was already in the original stereo. The only one that did connect was the controls for the steering wheel.

Yeah, like what I said on other thread (what did you do....) I installed new set of tires. I know most of guys here prefer not to have light on their dash, but I was worried because after I installed it the light did now show up even my new tires doesn't have TPMS sensor.

I would like to install a usb power cord that would somehow run out from the front of my dash (near the windshield). How difficult is this and have others on this site done it (links)? I would like to route the wire to either my GPS or cell phone mount and not take up a cigarette lighter plug.

After installing a new audio system to my corolla (front/rear speakers, amp) all of my power windows stopped working. None of the controls from any of the doors will work. What could be the problem? A blown fuse perhaps?

Ok so i just installed the trd front strut as my first"upgrade" on my 2009 corolla LE 2 days ago. Immediately i noticed when taking corners there was muchhh much less body roll which i love and i can take corners at a faster speed. BUT i have noticed at highway speeds it feels like the car is "swaying" left and right even if the car is moving in a straight line.Mainly the back of the car feels like its moving back and forth especially when its uneven roads while the front remains "even" Its quite unsettling as it feels like the back of the car will fishtail and lose control at any second. And yesterday it seems even at low speeds around 20 mph it feels like slight swaying. My question is, is this normal simply because everything else suspension wise is stock while the front has a strut bar? Maybe something else is wrong? Maybe its my imagination and its just the uneven roads?

I am looking to install a rear view mirror gps system with built in backup camera on my 2011 Corolla S. I have been searching for various different types and so far I have found these two links which look to be suitable.
will the wireless camera work good or is it better to get a wired one? Sounds like the gps system included maps for Canada & US. I am not sure if the camera will fit properly on this car or will it stick out. Also whether running a wire from the mirror to the camera will be challenging.

I'm at my wit's end trying to install cruise control in my 2009 Corolla. I thought it was a relatively easy install, but then after putting the airbag in place, I find that the horn no longer works. I test out the cruise control, and the green "Cruise" lights up on the dashboard..but it doesn't actually work.

The strut is lose, I can spin it hardly but I can't get the rotor to go down far enough, already disassembled the control arm but it didn't do much considering I couldn't move it forward or backward so the rotor still sits on a corner or the arm. I did the drivers side already.

So I want to disable the ABS on my Corolla. I was wondering if I could pull the fuse in my bonnet to disable the ABS and if I were to do so which fuse would I pull.
I think if I were to pull the fuse from the interior, the other car features that are tied into the fuse wouldn't work.
If I can't pull the fuse in the bonnet, what are the other ways I could disable ABS? I read that removing the relay is an option.
Also is there anything I should know if I were to reactivate ABS? For instance, would the ABS light be off when I presumably reactivate it or do I need to perform some extra steps to remove the ABS light?

I was wondering would the 2.4 2az-fe fit in to my 1.8 corolla I want to get a bare block or blown engine and build it up and turbo it and then put it into my corolla. Would the 2.4 bolt up in place of the 1.8 and if so where I can get a bare block or a complete engine?

09 le 1.8 135k miles. Had serpentine belt break while driving home, pulled over, had car pulled in on a trailer. Pulled old belt and found water pump was bad along with belt broken. replaced both, car would fire off as should, but would still run hot while leaving parked running. pulled thermostat, found it would not open until about 15 degrees above opening temp. replaced thermostat, now car will turn but won't start.
Disconnected battery to try and clear any codes that would prevent it from starting, still won't start. have had to charge battery a couple times so wondering if it's the battery not having enough charge to start car up? i wouldn't think so, and it doesn't make sense for it to be plugs since it was starting up without a problem before changing thermostat.

The air coming out when the on the drivers side is significantly warmer than the air coming out on the passenger side when the A/C is cranked to four. At times it is borderline hot unless I kick back the setting to a two or three and then the sides even out a bit more, but it still seems like the right side of the car is much cooler.
