View 2 RepliesI installed a set of brushed aluminum pedal about a month ago and now I feel that the car does not have the same power and acceleration like before! I mean if on 60mph cruising I want to accelerate to pass a car and push the pedal all the way up to the acceleration bottom the Trani only downshifts up to 3000 rpm and if I want pass quicker then push it all the way to the bottom then it shifts to 5000 rpm, in sport mode it is different and looks OK.
View 8 RepliesI got a 2009 Corolla LE and I am wondering if the a/c dial lights up with the dash lights? Its been a while since I've been inside the car but I have this feeling that the dial used to light up. The dial has an on/off push button to activate the ac. That ac button does light up when depressed, the rest of it does not. if the dial does indeed light up, how would one fix this? is there a fuse or something just for the dial?
View 4 RepliesI finally pulled the trigger on a dark grey Corolla S yesterday, and it turns out that it rattles on the driver side top dash. When I push on it, it stops, but it's pretty annoying and noticeable. I guess I should take it back.
View 14 RepliesGetting discoloring or scratch looking marks around radio/temperature controls? What can I do about this???? My friend suggested using a glosser but I'm not sure that's the way to go. Its beginning to look really bad!
View 2 RepliesI removed my key and was about to go to the store but when i walked across my car, I noticed my engine was still running. I go to place my hand on my good and it is still running with my key in my hand. I go back into the car and realized some of the dash lights are still on. Key still removed. Gear shifter is locked. I step on my brake pedal to see if that will shut it off and it still doesnt work and is left on. Only way to turn off the car is to disconnect the battery.
View 1 RepliesI just used ArmorAll cleaning wipes on the dash of my 2012 corolla and as soon as it dried out I noticed black scratches (thin black lines) as if the gray paint came off. I don't know how is possible. Even if the wipes had a problem, I don't think dash paint should get scratched so easily.
View 8 RepliesI've got a 2009 Corolla LE. Everything is factory, no remote start, alarm or rust module.. It is equipped with smart start and has about 73000km on the vehicle.
The beep is rather loud, louder than seatbelt and seems to be coming from dash near the steering wheel. I have disconnected the battery hoping to reset something but the darn thing keeps beeping every 30 seconds even while it's disconnected!
Strangely enough I haven't found much on this it must be a very uncommon problem.
The warning light on the dash is on that shows the seatbelt and airbag. What does tis mean as the book only says to take it to a dealer.
View 2 RepliesI would like to install a usb power cord that would somehow run out from the front of my dash (near the windshield). How difficult is this and have others on this site done it (links)? I would like to route the wire to either my GPS or cell phone mount and not take up a cigarette lighter plug.
View 1 RepliesI bought a brand new 2013 Corolla S just 10 days ago. Everything seemed to be working great and I was really enjoying my car, until yesterday when we had a slight drizzle. I put my wipers into intermittent mode, and immediately noticed an audible "click" sound similar to that of the turn signals.
I was quite freaked out at first, so after parking my car I investigated a bit and found the noise was coming from the dash rather than from the wipers. After a few hours of digging around on the Internet, I'm 95% certain it's coming from the wiper relay, and that this is supposed to be "normal".
This is bugging the hell out of me, so my question is, if you can replace just the wiper relay, or would you have to replace the entire stalk/motor assembly? At this point I actually don't mind shelving out $200 if it means I can get some peace of mind, literally.
Which reminds me, if say you could get an OEM (or an ever better aftermarket) wiper relay, and you went to a mechanic to have it installed, would that void the warranty?
I understand there's variations and tolerances exist in manufacturing, but you'd think Toyota would've gotten something as simple as a wiper relay figured out! The 2013 Corolla S I rented for 3 months never had this issue, nor did my mom's 2005 Corolla, or my dad's 2011 RAV4. So why my car?
2010 Matrix XR, car drives great except while driving off of parking lot going slow over bumps I hear a bit of rattling noise coming what seems like the driver side dash area... it almost feels like its coming perhaps from the steering wheel but the steering wheel feels very tight with no play at all.. Other than that it's all good can not hear anything wrong driving on a smooth road or a highway...
View 9 RepliesI'm at my wit's end trying to install cruise control in my 2009 Corolla. I thought it was a relatively easy install, but then after putting the airbag in place, I find that the horn no longer works. I test out the cruise control, and the green "Cruise" lights up on the dashboard..but it doesn't actually work.

View 1 RepliesSo I want to disable the ABS on my Corolla. I was wondering if I could pull the fuse in my bonnet to disable the ABS and if I were to do so which fuse would I pull.
I think if I were to pull the fuse from the interior, the other car features that are tied into the fuse wouldn't work.
If I can't pull the fuse in the bonnet, what are the other ways I could disable ABS? I read that removing the relay is an option.
Also is there anything I should know if I were to reactivate ABS? For instance, would the ABS light be off when I presumably reactivate it or do I need to perform some extra steps to remove the ABS light?
My 09 corolla has a whine at around 35-50 mph it does sound like its rpm related. When i let off the throttle it isn't as loud.

I was wondering would the 2.4 2az-fe fit in to my 1.8 corolla I want to get a bare block or blown engine and build it up and turbo it and then put it into my corolla. Would the 2.4 bolt up in place of the 1.8 and if so where I can get a bare block or a complete engine?
View 10 Replies09 le 1.8 135k miles. Had serpentine belt break while driving home, pulled over, had car pulled in on a trailer. Pulled old belt and found water pump was bad along with belt broken. replaced both, car would fire off as should, but would still run hot while leaving parked running. pulled thermostat, found it would not open until about 15 degrees above opening temp. replaced thermostat, now car will turn but won't start.
Disconnected battery to try and clear any codes that would prevent it from starting, still won't start. have had to charge battery a couple times so wondering if it's the battery not having enough charge to start car up? i wouldn't think so, and it doesn't make sense for it to be plugs since it was starting up without a problem before changing thermostat.
The air coming out when the on the drivers side is significantly warmer than the air coming out on the passenger side when the A/C is cranked to four. At times it is borderline hot unless I kick back the setting to a two or three and then the sides even out a bit more, but it still seems like the right side of the car is much cooler.
