This morning while driving with a/c on, water was coming out on the side of the center console. It's leaking a lot, that a spot is soaking wet.
View 4 RepliesIt's a lite creaking clunk/shifting sound and only occurs in forward and when braking to a stop.It only makes the noise... when the brakes are initially applied.If the brakes maintain their engagement the noise no longer occurs.So... if the peddle is intermittently pressed when braking to a slow stop the slight shift/clunk noise will occur on each depression of the pedal.
The sound is located inside the engine compartment..guessing related to the brakes /or suspension components.If I were to take a stab at it's location in the bay.I would think it's loudest nearer the driver's side.I don't really hear it when I brake hard/stop abruptly.It's fairly audible within the cabin.I can't say it's a clunk... at least not fully yet but something has to be shifting slightly !? well maybe the front brake calipers/bolts are loose and the caliper is moving slightly... ? Or maybe a loose bolt on the suspension might be culprit.Could even be described similarly that of a dry coil-over seal compressing.but surely these struts/shocks can't have failed at only 30k ?I haven't pulled the front wheels off, yet, to inspect.
Very difficult for me to ascertain what might be moving/shifting while I'm operating the vehicle to make it occur.But I have to believe that fault lay with either the brakes or suspension.I'd also like to avoid the cost of a dealership diagnosis

So today I'm out running errands. Its hot and the ac is on. I notice water is coming out from underneath the dashboard on the passenger side. I pull the floor mat and water is everywhere. Soaked!! Ok so the ac water that's supposed to drip outside and underneath the car is now dripping inside the car. I pull off all the plastic crap, glove box to see if I can tell where its coming from. Not seeing it. Also some crap must have gotten wet because my check engine light is on along with a flashing vsr off light.

I'm also thinking that there isn't adequate lubrication near the gear assembly or the belt. Could there be a problem with the tension in the belt?
View 7 RepliesI bought these lights on ebay. It was direct replacement for stock and it has Fan and ballast built in. Light is good and all good but im hearing some low frequency humming noise when im inside car and waiting in any traffic light.
I also opened the hood and tested it is there but less. Im hearing more in cabin. When i turn off the lights its gone. Is it the fan ? How to control it.
I am looking at a 2013 S 1.8 with 38k miles... it seems to have oil leaking at or near what looks like the oil pressure sensor, but i have struck out finding a picture of one in place on the engine.
The oil stain is above and behind the harmonic balancer at a sensor that sticks straight out towards the firewall and looks like the oil pressure sensor.
The engine has not been washed and there are no other stains above it. I am more than capable of changing the sensor... if that is what it is. Is this a cause for concern?
Here is the problem, door and the driver and passenger side is on the lock position but can be open from the inside but not outside. The back 2 door works fine, its on the lock, you cant open it and you can only open it if you put it on the unlock position. Child lock in not active on all doors (I think its only back tho). Wireless lock/unlock works fine, I hear them lock but if you are on a driver or a passenger and the door in on lock position, you can easily open the door inside even tho its on lock position, but outside, its lock and cant be open.
View 1 RepliesClear water comes into car my Corolla 2011 on drivers side and both the passenger and drivers rear floor panels. I checked and not coming from the body. Think it's from A/C but it's a lot of water. Front passenger side is bone dry. Looks like it may be coming from the center console and spreading out. Could the A/C evaporator drain be plugged. If so where do I find the hose?
View 11 RepliesYesterday, I upgraded my door speakers to Fosgate PPS4-8's. They Fit beautifully, and I just have them in the original hole, standing on 3/4" spacers.
Removing my fosgate power 6.75's, I found that there were droplets of water all over the back of them. When you are driving in the rain, water comes in the drain right under the speaker.
The new 8's have baffles that I made out of cheap paint buckets from lowes until the real ones get here. I'm kinda unhappy with Toyota right now. I had assumed that because the stock speaker didn't have any protection, that it would be good.
The PPS4-8's are a midbass speaker, not a woofer. They are good for 80Hz to 5KHz. I went with them because I had a huge hole in my midrange that I couldn't correct because I had no midrange drivers. All 2-way's.
On 2010 Corolla. If I fill the reservoir it empties on ground rapidly. Will not spray before it is completely empty. Seems like a hose has come off in reservoir area. I have never had this happen with any other car.

There is a bolt above the oil filter and near a sensor that is leaking. I marked it in red in the below picture. I am having trouble looking up what to do without knowing enough about it to search.
View 5 RepliesMy car was shaking badly during idle and the Engine and VSC Off lights came on simultaneously. I took it to a local garage (not dealership) and they said that there is anti-freeze leaking into a cylinder. They said the only way to clean it out/fix it is to first remove the entire engine from the car so it could be worked on. It will cost a total of $2,700. My engine has 141,000 miles on it so they said this may be risky since it is so used. They said for $3,500 they could swap it with an engine that only has 31,000 miles on it (and a 6 month guarantee.) By numbers this sounds like a no brainer (I am assuming?) but I am curious if swapping the engines would be worth it seeing as the rest of the car has still traveled 141,000 miles. I have kept it in good condition and such though. I am also curious if the engine really does need to be removed to fix this sort of problem or it it could be done cheaper.
View 4 RepliesSo recently every time I start up the Rolla I get a chirping noise real quick and everything seems to run alright. I had my neighbor, a GM mechanic just look quick; and on the belt connected to the water pump looked like it was unusually worn on spots of it.
The car has about 27XXX miles on it ('10 Rolla S).
Going for an oil change next week, going to try and find out what's going on with this thing. I've seen other threads talking about the water pump causing the symptoms I've described at around the same amount of miles. Seems like a common part to fail on the car.
My father put my f150 into reverse he says he didn't gas it. It was 2-3 feet in between the cars and the hitch went into the bottom grill below the front license plate. Coolant is leaking from the left side between the radiator and the block. Now the trucks hitch didn't go far enough to hit the radiator, or anything else I can see. I have cleaned the coolant and am in the waiting process try to identify the location. I believe that it is oozing from the water pump ( most of the coolant is underneath it), on the other hand there is coolant also by the radiator just not as much. I have the ability to fix this just not the tools. My family is going to take it to the dealer ship I just do not want them to get finagled around.
View 3 RepliesRecently blew the belt that runs the water pump, etc while on a vacation. Had to leave the car at a small mechanic in Winthrop, WA. He replaced the Water pump which had gone bad and the belt that shredded. The car ran beautifully for a week. Now there is this constant rattling sound coming from the water pump area. the link is a video with the sound. The sound will quicken as you accelerate. At cold start up it is usually not present then starts a couple of minutes in.

2009 Toyota Corolla base model
We took our vehicle to our local Goodyear because we had been hearing a noise and they discovered that the water pump had actually dislodged itself from the engine and was only being held on by the belt itself.
Also when I said the brakes weren't working they would work but since they were getting coolant on them they were making a horrible grinding noise. I took the vehicle to brake check to ensure the brakes were good because we have lifetime warranty and they assured us the brakes were fine.
It wasn't until we noticed the water pump that the Goodyear tech also showed us that the coolant had made it's way onto our braking system on the passenger side.

I hear water sloshing around behind the dashboard on driver side and when I make turns to the right I can hear what sounds like water boiling and/or steaming.
I am think I need to either unclog the the heater core lines...or replace the heater core entirely.
I do have a little bit of water on the floor of my passenger side...but not a lot and it is clear water.
I just bought a used 2009 corolla, turns out a few weeks in, I am getting the infamous water pump/ac compressor clicking noise from the drive belt area.
View 3 RepliesWe noticed that the driver side floorboard was soggy, so we removed the floor mat, propped the carpet up, and drained about an inch of water using the rubber plug. Well, it was left with the plug in and the carpet propped up over the weekend and, this morning, there's over an inch of water sitting on the metal.
I'm assuming it's coming from the sunroof drain but, although I was able to find the exit point for the drain, I couldn't find where the water actually enters said drain. Also, what's the best way to clear this issue?
I've got a 2009 Corolla CE, 5 speed. I've only had the car since september and had no issues until now. Now that there's snow on the roads, my car's ABS has starting coming on a lot more. Whenever it comes on, there's a noise that sounds very similar to grinding gears in a transmission coming from the front of the car. It's the first car I've ever had with ABS, and I've never heard this noise in any of my friend's cars with ABS, so I don't know if this is normal or not.
View 8 RepliesI own a 2009 superwhite corolla xrs. I've owned the car now for several months . Ever since I got It, I've heard a noise coming from the engine bay . Sounds like a Metallic rattling .seems to do it in the cold and warm weather . I have a feeling that its the water pump . Every time I take it to the dealer it doesn't make the noise. It's makes the noise on a regular basis . Check out the video... ignore the dirty dash low fuel light... I was parked by a gas station i swear.
