I just purchased a 2012 Toyota Corolla LE. The factory radio has a 'Phone' button on the right hand side of the radio. When I push the button, the display shows 'Unavailable.' What this button is for? With the Blu Logic kit, it has a separate phone button that mounts in the dash knockouts. Can the phone button on the radio be used instead?

View 1 RepliesMy 10 months old 2011 Corolla started acting up. Two days ago I noticed the light on the clock is gone, so now I cannot see time at night or when driving in a parking garage.
Today in the morning I turned the headlights on and oops...the radio is playing fine but the display is black. If I want to see station #'s, I have to turn off the lights.
What's wrong with the clock light and radio display? Do I have to take to the dealer right away or can it wait until I go for an oil change in a week or so?
I have a 2010 Corolla (purchased December of '09) and just recently the radio has started acting up. Since it got cold last year, it seems after long periods with the heater on, the radio unit display will go haywire. Today, the display did the same thing after my car sat in the sun for a couple of hours (and it was pretty warm inside). Obviously it doesn't make any sense to me, but I thought the display was trying to tell me that it's "too hot" Buttons on the unit will intermittently malfunction as well.
For example, hitting "2" will turn the unit off, pressing another preset number will switch the radio from FM to AM. Keeping the unit off while driving doesn't seem to fix the issue - but it does correct itself after a while.
I just got a 2012 LE. iPhone 4 5.01. Not having any luck adding any contacts to the radio via bluetooth.

My girlfriend left town yesterday, and on the 3 hour drive, she said her radio just shuts off. It has done this since shortly after I bought the vehicle. Dealer has checked cabin air filter and says it is OK.

For a long time now I have dealt with a whining sound in my 2012 Toyota corolla. The symptoms are that the sound only happens when the accelerator pedal is slightly engaged. This happens at any speed. At the slightest push of the pedal a whining/spinning sound happens and if you maintain pedal engagement the sound of whining/spinning continues. The sound goes away instantly when the pedal is depressed and will again come back when engaged subsequent times.
I have been researching on the internet and I seem to be pointed in the direction of the transmission fluid to change from the Toyota Genuine ATF WS currently being used in the 2012 Toyota Corolla as the stock transmission fluid to Redline D4 as others have experienced a similar noise problem in 2010 corolla models and have made the noise go away by using the Redline D4 because of viscosity differences. I am not sure however if the same transmission model (U341E) is being used in all Corolla models.
The check engine light on my 09 Corolla came on so, after it continuing to stay on, I bought a OBD ll Code Reader. The scan showed 10 faults but, only 3 code numbers were given for the 10 faults. Each of the 3 code numbers appeared twice for a total of 6 out of the 10 faults indicated. The remaining 4 faults had no corresponding code numbers. Don't know why but, they just didn't. Even after multiple scans.
Here are the code numbers that did show.
P2401(twice)
P2402(twice)
P2419(twice)
According to the CD that came with the reader, this is what the codes mean.
P2401.. evap emission system leak detection pump control circuit low.
P2402.. same thing as above except control circuit high.
P2419.. evap emission system switching valve control circuit low.
Looking for more specific explanation to me what this all means then it has something to do with emissions. Is it something that should be of concerned? I have erased the codes a couple of times but after a day or two, the engine light comes on again. This has been going on for over a month now but, the car is working great. Last road trip, I got approx 52 mpg.

I also have XM on my 05 Suburban and never experience a loss of signal other than going under over passes or through tunnels.
I recently got my corolla (2009) repaired and the technician said that the radio was not connected to the battery for about two weeks. Now the radio (even the backlight) won't turn on regardless of any buttons I press. All the fuses have been checked and are fine. Could this be some anti-theft mode in which something must be done to turn it back on.

When I heard the sound start to lower I looked at the radio & I could see the numbers for the volume level decline then go back up.
View 7 RepliesI just got my '09 Corolla last night and it's doing something I'm not sure it is supposed to do. When I go out to my car I press the unlock button and open the door. A beeping noise starts immediately before the key is even in the ignition. When I do put the key in the beeping continues and does not stop until I close the door. The car I had before this was an '89 Corolla so I don't have any experience with these keyless entry things.

View 9 Replies2009-10 Toyota corolla hear a lot of noise in the center console below the radio? I know those radio bezels can be noisy along with the area underneath the radio.. The plastic there tends to creak when you go over rough tar roads or uneven bumpy roads. Especially when its hot outside..
Will this be resolved by insulating those area..? Also, when you go over a bumpy road the back of the headliner tends to make a creaking sound..
