View 1 RepliesMy 10 months old 2011 Corolla started acting up. Two days ago I noticed the light on the clock is gone, so now I cannot see time at night or when driving in a parking garage.
Today in the morning I turned the headlights on and oops...the radio is playing fine but the display is black. If I want to see station #'s, I have to turn off the lights.
What's wrong with the clock light and radio display? Do I have to take to the dealer right away or can it wait until I go for an oil change in a week or so?
I have a 2010 Corolla (purchased December of '09) and just recently the radio has started acting up. Since it got cold last year, it seems after long periods with the heater on, the radio unit display will go haywire. Today, the display did the same thing after my car sat in the sun for a couple of hours (and it was pretty warm inside). Obviously it doesn't make any sense to me, but I thought the display was trying to tell me that it's "too hot" Buttons on the unit will intermittently malfunction as well.
For example, hitting "2" will turn the unit off, pressing another preset number will switch the radio from FM to AM. Keeping the unit off while driving doesn't seem to fix the issue - but it does correct itself after a while.
I just purchased a 2012 Toyota Corolla LE. The factory radio has a 'Phone' button on the right hand side of the radio. When I push the button, the display shows 'Unavailable.' What this button is for? With the Blu Logic kit, it has a separate phone button that mounts in the dash knockouts. Can the phone button on the radio be used instead?
View 2 Replies I am trying to install the amp and subs that I have. The radio doesn't have a rca jack on the back and I don't know which wires I am suppose to splice into.
by the way I just purchased my 2011 Corolla S 2 weeks ago n loving it!
I have searched and probably have just missed it but: I have a new 2012 Corolla S. The manual says " displays elapsed time since the engine was started or since the function was reset." Mine has never reset. Does this mean I switch between two different modes? If so, how?
View 5 RepliesI recently purchased a 2009 Corolla LE. I noticed that at night, my radio does NOT light up. However, when the car is in the 'on' or during the day, the radio screen is lit. I just know this can't be right. Is there something I can do to fix this backward problem? Or do I need to take it in?

View 14 RepliesExperience issues with their XM radio signal? It seems I have "no signal" more often than not.
I also have XM on my 05 Suburban and never experience a loss of signal other than going under over passes or through tunnels.
I recently got my corolla (2009) repaired and the technician said that the radio was not connected to the battery for about two weeks. Now the radio (even the backlight) won't turn on regardless of any buttons I press. All the fuses have been checked and are fine. Could this be some anti-theft mode in which something must be done to turn it back on.
View 1 Repliesyesterday, I was driving along a stretch of road I have driven hundreds of times. The difference this time was my radio decided to turn the volume very low then back to normal. When I heard the sound start to lower I looked at the radio & I could see the numbers for the volume level decline then go back up.
View 7 Replies2009-10 Toyota corolla hear a lot of noise in the center console below the radio? I know those radio bezels can be noisy along with the area underneath the radio.. The plastic there tends to creak when you go over rough tar roads or uneven bumpy roads. Especially when its hot outside..
Will this be resolved by insulating those area..? Also, when you go over a bumpy road the back of the headliner tends to make a creaking sound..
I have a 2009 Corolla LE and the radio does not work. It keeps popping the fuse for the radio under the hood. Is this a common problem? If not any system wiring diagram? I am about to take the car on a big trip and if I cant get the radio to function....its gonna be a long ride...
View 1 RepliesSo I have the dreaded "rear defroster/radio static interference" issue on my 2011 Corolla LE. I turn on my radio and all is good. I turn on my rear window defroster and my FM reception goes away.I am pretty sure I did it to myself because it only started happening after I cleaned the rear window with some windshield washing fluid and a paper towel. I do have a knack for being a bit gruff on things and people unintentionally so I guess I am not surprised. I must have damaged the elements of the rear defroster in the process of cleaning the window. I should have left it dirty.
Anyway, I've read many posts detailing how breaks in the rear defroster grid can introduce EMI that effects the factory radio antennae in the rear window. Some of the answers I have seen suggested are:
1) replace the rear window (really?)
2) use a repair kit. URL...
3) completely replace the the rear defroster grid with an after market kit. URL...
4) replace the factory antennae with an after market unit that is not internally mounted
5) live with it
Are there any other options that I haven't found? If the root cause is the rear defroster, the repair kit seems like the way to go (even if it looks like an annoying task to perform upside down in such tight and cramped spaces). Might fix the defroster if its broken but will it resolve the EMI problem ...
I just got a 2012 LE. iPhone 4 5.01. Not having any luck adding any contacts to the radio via bluetooth.
View 9 RepliesWe have the basic stock CD / radio model number A518A1 and the XM Radio module with the fit kit installed in the passenger side wheel well in the trunk in a 2010 Corolla S.
Installation of the XM Radio & fit kit was dead simple and we're using the built-in OEM antenna on the roof of the car.
The problem we're having is the dreaded NO SIGNAL message when trying to listen to XM Radio.
I have the Lynx portable XM Radio installed in my car and when both cars are in the driveway, I can get the signal all day long and in her car she gets the NO SIGNAL message.
We've already called XM Radio and had the signal resent to the radio numerous times with no success.
I've gone to our Toyota dealer and the only thing they can recommend is to replace the OEM roof antenna. That part alone is $80 and you have to completely disassemble the headliner to get at the antenna.
Wiring up an actual XM antenna to take the place of the OEM roof antenna? I've searched the web and can't find an adapter plug.
The Aux input on my 09 Corolla has started to malfunction.I plug my ipod into the auxiliary input and if the cable wobbles as i drive and hit bumps, the AUX mode switches over to RADIO mode and the radio starts to play, instead of the ipod. I have to wiggle the cable before i press the AUX button for it to start playing the ipod.

View 4 RepliesI just got a 2011 corolla le with 45k miles and the gas millage is terrible. I have a 2005 acura rsx and I drive about 20 miles a day and I can go a whole month without refilling. I Put in half a tank in our corolla and only got 115 miles out of it. I drive the same way I do in my acura which Is pretty fuel efficient. My car tells me I am getting 27 mpg. But if I calculated correctly (115miles /7 gallons= about 1 8 mpg, my acura will get nearly twice that millage. What do you think I need to do. I've only put 500-1000 miles on it and not sure when the last tune up was. Should I take it to Toyota?
View 7 RepliesI don't expect many people to still be running OEM radios, but having issues with the stock radio? My girlfriend left town yesterday, and on the 3 hour drive, she said her radio just shuts off. Sometimes, when its on, the volume controls wont work, etc. W the model number for the stock 2010 Toyota Corolla S touch screen OEM stereo?
View 7 RepliesThe radio trim/bezels around the center console and down to the shifter tend to be noisy when its hot outside and the car driven over rough roads. How to insulate these radio bezels with felt or some kind of insulation so the noise is dampened? I think any rough road tends to make them creak and the hooks tend to rub against the plastic..
