Pulled up to subway today and hit the switch to put the window down for my order. paid the lady got my order hit the switch but the window went half way up and stopped! drove off and tried to make it go down or up, nothing! tried again in a couple of minutes then it went up. I haven't done anything since. Am I looking at a huge repair? Never had a problem before.
View 4 RepliesI have a 2004 Chevy Tahoe with the 4.8L V8. My A/C is blowing hot on the drivers side and cold on passenger side. There is only one controller, not two. What the problem could be...and I'm scared to ask...how much it may cost to fix? It has happened only one other time and that was a year ago, and it has worked fine since then until today.

The problem began when a small accident damaged my driver's side door check (the small bar that keeps the door from swinging open too wide). The check was bent, and the window stopped going all the way down. When I removed the check, the window worked fine. Now I've replaced the check. The door works fine, but the window problem has returned.
View 1 RepliesWhen pulling down my drivers window and then pulling it up it gets stuck half way up. I have to push the window hard toward the outside while pressing the button to get it back up. If I am pulling down the window and stop before this point, I have no problem pulling it up again.
View 11 RepliesI have a 2003 Montana (same as Venture). The driver side window will get stuck half way down and the motor will grind. You can then run it back up, but when closed it will grind again.
View 4 RepliesHad window on drivers side all the way down. Went to push button to raise. Window gets gets half way up and I hear a loud snap! I continue to push button and raised window all the way up. Now I hear wind and whistle sound. Does not seem to be as tight? Afraid to lower window as it may not raise again... Does this sound like the typical window regulator failure? My warranty coverage "excludes " window regulators, go figure. Their brochure says window motors and regulators covered. It recently stopped going up and down, and I want to pull the switch panel out and test the switch before yanking the whole door panel to test the motor. I just need to figure out which connector pins should get tested for continuity.
View 3 Replies98 Tahoe ac giving me warm air once again. 5 weeks ago had it in the garage. they found a leaking schrader valve and re-charged and added dye. checked it and didn't see anymore leaks. they said keep an eye on it and if it stops cooling bring it back. well.........it's going back! it's blowing warm air even though I hear the compressor kick on. what else could be giving me problems? of course i'll take it back but i'm just wondering if a switch failed this time or what the heck is happening. I was surprised to hear the compressor running with warm air.

View 4 RepliesSo my car is just under 2 weeks old. I had the car tinted today and now the drivers side window switch will not operate the passenger side window. The switch on the passenger side works fine and the window operates perfect. The drivers side window operates perfect.
The tint guys are still out there trying to fix this. There isn't some locking mechanism that could be preventing this correct? Or did they somehow short the switch out only on the passenger side switch? So aggravating.
All windows except the drivers window stopped working last night. And the front passenger window is down 2". Wouldn't ya know it before I got home it started raining. Stopped by a store and got a large box of cling-wrap to wrap the top of the door in plus stayed off the interstate to get home without soaking the inside but where do I start looking for the problem? Why the drivers window works fine but not the others. Seems they should all be on the same circuit. Everything else seems to be working fine, door locks, etc.

I dumped it into park and it really howled! I shut off the engine, started it back up and everything was fine! what the heck caused this and what needs fixed?

The last time I recall trying to use it and getting some response was around a week ago to check and see if my window was frozen shut. When the headlights are on, all of my window controls light up except for the drivers window. When the button is depressed to raise the window I feel a slight vibration through the floor.
I'm a complete novice when it comes to car repair, but is this something I could potentially fix myself? Or how much would I be looking at to get this fixed otherwise?
My air conditioner blows cool air (not cold) when I am driving, and when I am stopped, it is warm air. I had to replace the sensor last year. Could it be that again, or something else? Chevy Tahoe 2003 ..

After which it just stops and I have to wait about 5 minutes before it will move again. The window still goes down no problem. It's only when the window's going up that it happens.

View 9 RepliesI have a 2006 Ford F-150 with about 43,000 miles .. love it. However, my driver side window stopped working today. For about the past month when you would power up, it would delay and then go up. This happened every so often. Going down was never a problem. Some times window would go up, then drop down an inch or so. Now this morning I went to the store and the window won't go up and it is down all the way. I do not hear grinding, only clicking. All other windows work fine.
