My 96 xj started to get this annoying squeak on the passenger side. It does it when you turn the wheel in any direction, I traced it to the wheel hub area but not sure what is causing the squeak, i just replaced the tie rod and I went and greased all the fittings on that side side but it still does it The ball joints were replaced just over a year ago.
View 9 RepliesI have a 96 grand Cherokee Laredo, and the other day it just wouldn't start. The jeep will not turn over, so i started checking some things out and determined that it was not getting a spark. Since i replaced the distributor cap recently i figured it had to be the ignition coil, so i replaced that. Still no go, i tested to see if the ignition coil was getting a spark by using an ohm meter, and nothing.
So something is preventing the spark even getting that far. I do not know much about vehicles, and i have to think it is something in the electrical system (like a chip or something),possibly security system, or NSS.
I have a problem on my 2009 Lexus ES 350, this morning I found out the passenger side power seat is not moving at all in any directions (up, down, front, back etc.) However the driver's side is working. It was working in the past, but I would not know for how long it has stopped working as I don't normally press the buttons on the passenger side except when I want to clean the car.
I tried going through the owners manual to check if it is a blown fuse, but on opening the hood the fuse referred to as Power seat fuse is big fuse that cannot be pulled, also checked the one under the steering compartment, I could not find it either as from the manual it is not a regular fuse either. On second thought I was thinking if it a blown fuse both seats should not be working except they are wired separately (I don't know, just a guess).
I have a low-mid pitched chunky clunking sound/feel in the front end of my jeep. It MAY be there because I drove over a cattle guard (auto gate for some of you) and one of the iron pieces popped up and hit the under of my car. on the right front underbody. Not sure what it hit. No body damage. A few days later I felt/hear clunking. Not so much on highway. Worse at slower speeds and on more irregular surfaces, bumps in streets/gravel roads.
There is a scratch on one of the stabilizer bars where it loops down near the wheel. The one on the right will move slightly when you give it a good shake. The left one is solid.
I have a 2004 Jeep Cherokee and the passenger window recently popped open. Something is wrong with the power windows (I can't shut it either automatically, or manually).
View 1 RepliesAbout a week after I picked up my "vee" one of the passenger side brakes started to squeak when I would leave the house only after sitting for a while. Is this normal it only seems to be happening on the passenger side. I am thinking it might just be some condensation on the rotor or something but its definitely only coming from one wheel and goes away after driving about a block.
I am planning on having the dealer look at it as there is already a seat squeak / groan. I know where its coming from but I will leave the dealer to fix it.
I have had a bad squeak on the front passenger side suspension. It only happens while you are pulling into a driveway, going over a speed bump, or driving slow on a bumpy road. I brought my car to my mechanic and he thought it was the control arms that were shot. They were changed after forking over some cash. I noticed right away the handling was better due to the control arms which is said were shot. But... the squeak is still there, and has not become lower sounding at all. He said it might have something to do with the suspension but it is not worth it to change all the parts.
View 11 RepliesMy wife and I noticed that our passenger side wheels, both of them, are flaking paint... We've got an early VIN '04 Touareg. We're fixing to take it in for 10K maintenance. We are not avid off-roaders, however we HAVE gone off-roading twice with it and I'm sure hoping that isn't why the paint is flaking.
View 12 RepliesOdd problem has arisen in my wife's Passat. It's a sort of "chirp" or squeak that seems to be coming from underneath the passenger side dash. It only makes the noise while moving (whether it's 1mph or 100mph) but it's still intermittent and doesn't seem to happen under and exact driving conditions (happens most frequently when turning at low speeds, but can also happen rolling straight down the highway).
My first though would be the blower motor, sometimes it happens with the A/C off. I took it to the shop a few weeks ago and of course it stopped making the noise on the way there and it started back up on the way back. So now it's in the shop again.. Anyway, I managed to catch it on video [URL] ....
There's been a reoccurring squeak and click coming from my passenger side for a while now recently it has been a lot more consistent. For the longest while I'd thought it was my springs/swaybar or something generally just not being tight. Suffice to say I was surprised when I jacked up the front of my car to do an oil change today and happened to catch a glance to the rear while working under there. One of the four subframe bolts in the rear (passenger side, closest to the rear of car, not the one next to the control arms) is apparently no longer doing it's job.
The subframe was hanging free of the body there as though no bolt was there, but upon inspecting the bolt in the subframe itself it is torques to spec (74 lb/ft). So whatever it should be attaching to up in the car is apparently no longer doing it and if I feel around the back of the subframe and rubber bushing I can feel a nut that I suppose should be up in car to accept the thread of the bolt. The hole above the frame doesn't appear broken or deformed, what gives? I've never torques this bolt or removed it, I can only assume the damage was done to it long ago and has just been getting worse ( I've only had the car for a year now). Is there so kind of rivnut type action that I can insert up into the hole, do I need the dealer to fix this for me?
Have had the '13 SE 2.0 for a week. Wife said there was a squeak ?? I drove it today. Seems to be from front passenger side..
View 14 RepliesI just took in my 2007 RX350 to the Lexus dealer for a "once over" as I recently purchased it, as well as a squeak that was coming from the passenger side wiper blades.
After several replacements (including the high end Rainx and Michelin from Home Depot) the squeak would not go away.
Lexus indicated that the "aftermarket" blades were causing the problem and I needed Lexus blades.
I pushed back as they were about $120 for both, but, much to my surprise no squeak.
Not sure what the OEM blades are and I guess I could have researched it more, but, was at my witts end with the squeak.
Anyway, that fixed the problem.
My driver's side and passenger side door handles squeak when using them to close or open the door. Its kind of an annoying issue which surprised me due to the quality and fit and finish on the rest of the car. The door handles do NOT make noise when driving the car, only when I grab and squeeze and close or open the door. I will be taking it to my dealer's service centre at my earliest convenience to see if they can remedy the issue.

I can usually track these down, but this one is eluding me. It seems to be coming from the rear passenger side and really only bad when turning left or veering left at slow speeds.
View 11 RepliesWhere another 09 owner had what he thought was a cold weather related squeak coming from the passenger side dash / windshield area. Mine does this and it's highly annoying. Here's what I've observed:
- seems to happen in cold temps, though I can't say what "cold" is...<40F perhaps?
- noticeable over bumps or whenever the car frame twists as a result of uneven road surface
- source seems to be the dash / windshield interface on the passenger side
- it's *possible* it may be coming from the top of the windshield as well
- it's very noticeable and highly irritating
Either with an 09 or earlier model? I cut a pool noodle and shoved it down between the glass and dash hoping the pressure would relieve whatever is rubbing. It appeared to work until the temps dropped into the 20s. Then it returned. I have a 2009 GLS, 5MT Sonata.
I own a 04 Grand Cherokee and have recently had problems with my passenger side brake light. Now the light itself does work under normal running light conditions, but when I go to press the brake pedal it doesn't engage the bright brake light. Drivers side works fine and so do all my other lights, I replaced the bulb to no avail, and am now currently looking into replacing the bulb socket.

I've notice a bumping around, rattle type noise in the wheel well or below the adjacent floor at the right rear tire. I'm still looking into the cause at this point.
The "tracking bar" was replaced last year, and is firm and tight. The rear exhaust pipe was also replaced last year, and I've checked that it might be "tapping" on the body of the van by checking it's range of movement.
The shocks are relatively new (<50,000 miles)...
I can't get my passenger door open. The car has electric door locks, they are working, the door does have a key, it works, both handles seem ok, but the door does not unlatch. I can't get the inside panel off since it is closed. I'm considering trying pop a lock???

View 1 RepliesI have a problem with the steering. Sometimes a clicking noise is coming out from the front left side when I sharply turn the wheels or hit the brake. The car was in a local garage today and they couldn't find the problem. 2 mechanics checked the suspension, cv joint, axle, wheel bearing... also 1 of them driven the car and found nothing. Tomorrow I show them the clip below.
