What is the solution to the "Service 4WD Switch" error message. My 1994 Grand Cherokee Laredo(4WD ALL-Time) keeps displaying this message every 2 minutes and it's so distracting. My mechanic doesn't seem to have a clue.
View 14 RepliesMy 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo won't start...It cranks strong but won't turn over..I can hear my Fuel Pump kick on from the back of the Vehicle but it won't kick on listening from the engine compartment??I checked all fuses.I had a tune up a couple of months ago..My check engine light was on before the tune up and my mechanic said that the tune up corrected the problem the car was coding out... I've been told to check the ALARM by turning the alarm on and off and also unlocking the car Via the driver door.. This didn't work.. I've been told to check the Fuel cut off switch(RESET BUTTON) for my make and year but can't seem to locate it...
View 1 RepliesI have a 94 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo and when I first got it, it revved too high well now it revs too low, when im at a stop light it revs at just barely above 0 RPMS and the engine will cut off. it just ate shutting off yesterday. I took my car back to the dealership to get it fixed and they said "there's nothing wrong with it" well now I just passed my warranty and it starts shutting off on me.

View 9 RepliesFor the last 3 months I've been bringing in my vehicle in and out of the VW dealership trying to find out why once in a while when I turn off my my vehicle the accessory part turns back on by its self and error message displaying "Error: Brakes service now!" In the middle of the cluster & then the car turns off completely. The first time I brought it to the VW dealership they called corporate and they said to change the cluster so they did. Two days after I pick up my car the error message came back on. Took it for the 2nd time and they said that it was the gateway .
And one day later after picking up my car the error message came back on again. I'm getting tired bringing in my Golf R and not fixing this issue. What it could be? Just an FYI, It is a push start. Here's a quick video link so you can see what I'm talking about [URL] ....
I have a 96 grand Cherokee Laredo, and the other day it just wouldn't start. The jeep will not turn over, so i started checking some things out and determined that it was not getting a spark. Since i replaced the distributor cap recently i figured it had to be the ignition coil, so i replaced that. Still no go, i tested to see if the ignition coil was getting a spark by using an ohm meter, and nothing.
So something is preventing the spark even getting that far. I do not know much about vehicles, and i have to think it is something in the electrical system (like a chip or something),possibly security system, or NSS.
Got done driving it one day, parked it, sat approx. 2-3 days, tried to start and it wouldn't start. When the engine was turning sounded like it was getting fire every couple secs but wouldn't fully start. Replaced the fuel filter, tps, distributor cap & rotor, still no luck. Took a look at what color the spark was and it was quite yellow, does it need to be blue?
View 12 RepliesIt started stalling out off and on. Thought maybe bad tank of gas and waited it out. Since then i have had the catalytic converter replaced. Ignition coil replaced complete tune up with new wires distributor and rotor button. Still stalled so they said fuel pump now that's been replaced and on my way home it stalled again.
View 9 RepliesAll of this happened at the same time so has to be related. The a/c system has no power, the brake lights and turn signals don't work, windows wont work, air bag light on. However, the park lights, head lights and hazards work fine. Starts and runs fine. All fuses check out ok. New battery as well.

View 1 Replies1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0. Check engine light will not go out. Took to Autozone , Orileys ,and Jeep Dealer. No codes found. Replaced cooling fan relay, when light first came on. Everything works fine now. Have tried myself to shut light off, disconnect batt. cables 10 min, 30 min. and other methods, no luck , still, on ? I have even traced the cooling fan relay wire to PCM, all OK.

View 1 RepliesI have a 2003 pontiac grand am gt 3.4. About 5 days ago my change oil light came on and did not have time to do it at that point. Then 1 day later my service vehicle soon light came on, I thought it was due to the change oil light being on. Then next day, I changed my oil and pushed the reset button in, let the light flash then held it in until the change oil light went out. But my service vehicle light stayed on, took it to AutoZone and they put the scanner on it and the scanner did not show one thing wrong. So I had him clear the code and the light stayed of for about 10 seconds then came right back on! Is it a faulty issue or what?

Problem "Stalls at idle and at hwy speed" sometimes starts right up and sometime will not start. Sometimes it will lose acceleration but engine will still be running and you can punch the gas and it will go again.
It has been in the shop for most of the last 2 months. Driven in 3 times and hauled in twice.
Low mileage 70,000 - has been great until now - serviced regularly.
Did get new fuel pump only about 10,000 miles ago do to starting problem but in that case it just did not start.
Independent shop replaced distributor cap, rotor, coil, fuel filter. No codes and couldn't duplicate problem.
Jeep dealer replaced fuel pump (they said wiring problem), O2 sensor, engine module no help, they asked us to pick up car because it ran fine. It stalled within 2 miles of shop.
We replaced gas cap just in case.
Limped back to shop to replace crank sensor as it was suggested several places. Ran fine for about 45 minutes then back to old tricks. Relays have been checked. Still at shop trying to trace problem. At least nobody is saying they can't duplicate problem as it now stalls all the time.
I replaced a battery on a 1998 jeep grand Cherokee v6. It started and ran fine, but then in my infinite wisdom, I decided to remove the negative battery cable with the engine running to test the alternator. Some smoke started coming from the back of the engine, so I immediately killed it. It wasn't running for more than 5 seconds. When I started it again, it faltered, but the second time it started fine and ran fine, a little more smoke came out but stopped soon. it smelled like burning oil. We drove it around the block with no problems. I know it wasn't the alternator that was smoking because that's not where it was coming from, and I doubt it was the ecu because then it wouldn't run.
View 3 RepliesI had the service vehicle soon light come on the other day and it took out the gauge back lights, fog lights, and tail lights. Also, when I used to lock and unlock the car with the remote the exterior lights would flash, now they don't. I check all headlights and tail lights and none of them are burnt out.
View 11 RepliesThis morning when I went to start my car i got a Service Now message. Once the car was started it went off and didn't come back on. I have no warning lights present on the dash what so ever. I've never seen this before.
What does it mean? I have an 04 W12 with 60,120 miles. BTW I've had all service work done for the 60,000 service. Car is beyond up to date with it's service.
I had my first service done away from the Volvo dealership. 2004 S60 AWD ... How to reset the service required message. (Canadian model).
The sales rep is trying to find this out for me as well. He knows it involves the pressing of the trip computer button and while holding in another button.
I've had a "need service soon" message and amber triangle symbol for a couple of weeks and cleared all of the reminders for service. The oil change isn't for another 5k. Now the message is "need service" with the same symbol. This is a 2015 LS with 5k on the odo. I called the dealer and was told that only they can turn the light off. This 5K service is free and includes everything that I do at least every month and...resetting the maintenance light! I doubt that this service is required to maintain the warranty so I would like to turn the light off. Is this possible without going to the dealer? Oh, by the way they also check the driver's floor mat.
