Celica :: Leak At Both Top And Bottom
Sep 6, 2011
Our family celica has a leak at both the top and the bottom. There is a crack on the top where the leak is coming from but I can't see where the bottom is leaking from.

View 1 RepliesI am new to working on cars. SO i think my water pump went out on my 1991 celica gts, there is a large water leak where the bottom hose from the radiator connects to the what i presume is the water pump or thermostat, need to know if I am on the right track...
View 5 RepliesI am currently on the highway in a remote area and have an oil leak at bottom of engine. There is a small hole where two housings come together, see photo.
View 9 RepliesI have water coming into the car at the bottom of the passenger door and collecting in both the real and front footwells. How to fix it. New rubber lining or door adjustment.?
View 3 RepliesMy 2000 Jetta 2.0 has a coolant leak. I searched and found a lot of mentions of the flange on the driver's side, and I have coolant dripping from the bottom of the car in a location that seems consistent with that, but I felt all around the flange and the hoses that are connected to it and it feels dry.
Where else could it be coming from? (yeah, I could jack it up climb under and look, but I haven't had time yet). I also seem to have an oil leak around the same location, but the dipstick tube was cracked near where it went in to the engine so I'm hoping that was the source of the oil.
Maybe I am running out of my beginner's luck. Recently when I did the second oil change at 10K miles, I placed the drain pan without taking into account the fact that the oil drains partially sideways. The oil stream ended up splashing off the edge of the drain pan and made a mess. Then I did not withdraw my hand fast enough when unscrewing the oil filter and allowed a stream of oil running down my arm and staining my new shirt. The I filled the new oil filter too full and had one more spill when installing it.
About two weeks later I found there was a very thin coat of oil at the bottom of the oil filter but no drips either on the filter or on the ground. I checked the oil level and it was the same as before. I checked the filter tightness with a torque wrench and it was also as tight as before. I wiped the bottom of the filter clean with paper towel. Now about another two weeks passed and a corner of the bottom of the filter is coated with oil again.
I am thinking maybe it was just the spilled oil gradually making its way from the (outside) top of the filter to the bottom? If there is a leak then I should get at least some drips, not just a thin film every two weeks, right? I also thought about untightening the filter and then tighten it again but I was afraid of large amount of oil coming out, would it? Also I had carefully checked the o-ring and wiped the flange clean before installing the filter and there are so many threads to screw the filter on - it is hard to imaging the filter would not seat correctly.
Notice a leak at the bottom of the Line coming out of the reservoir and turning under at the bottom of the radiator... Not sure at this point whether this is the suction return or supply , probably return, from the looks of the spring clamps used.
It appears that some steel line is used to make a 2 ft or so loop under the radiator before it goes back to the rack.... Cooling??
This line app. 3/8 " in diamater is supported by some rubber isolators, and no doubt there is some rust which has formed in there where the line passes through the rubber, small pinhole maybe??
Come out to the this am and notice a small puddle that was not there last night. Pull the car out and it's start burning something off. Roll the car in first thought is oil (maybe the turbo return line is leaking) no its coolant. On the lower portion of the down pipe and running across the bottom. I'm at a loss as where the leak could be coming from being back there.
View 6 RepliesI have a 1999 jeep cherokee 4x4 four liter inline 6. have a coolant drip at bottom radiator hose, change hose. but still drip. Could water pump be leaking. and it running down on the bottom radiator hose.
View 4 RepliesI have coolant leaking from the bottom of this hose on my brothers car. I am not very familiar with the BEW's as I drive an ALH. Just looking for info about part number or name on this hose so I can get a new one. Has a part number MH3364 on it but that is not working anywhere.
View 2 RepliesI've noticed a spring of coolant shooting out of a connector that I'm assuming is connected to the bottom radiator hose via a smaller hose. Is there a hose that splits off the bottom radiator hose that is smaller. The leak is not coming from the hose, but the connector it's hooked to. Is this a replaceable part? What is it for?

I bought a used 2011 corolla from a dealer 15 days ago and found a leak at the bottom of the engine. It is not dripping but i can see "wet" area at the bottom of the engine...near the oil pressure switch. Is it possible that the switch is faulty or there could be other reason? Facing the front the leaks can be seen at the bottom of the either side of the engine. I have some images, but not sure how to share on this platform.
View 1 RepliesI was draining my separator and noticed some oil accumulating on the bottom of the cylinder head right under the oil fill on the drivers side. My truck is 12 days out of engine warranty.
It's last service was probably around a year ago when the engine was torn down to replace the exhaust valves per the TSB.
Have another oil leak, just finished the pan flange gasket last weekend, made it 150 miles, now a new leak.
Took the spider out and everything on top, cleaned the valley up good, the fired the truck. HPO lines are good, but have a drip off the back and bottom of the HPOP, when I reach under it from the back, its right below the large 2 inch circle.
What this might be? was thinking possible orings somewhere under there where it seats, but its been 6 years since I replaced all the orings, don't remember exact layouts.
I was surprised by a leak and identified where the water was coming from, the bottom of my vehicle. It's from a gasket or seal on the front of the pan near the flywheel. 1994 Ford Explorer 4X4.
View 6 RepliesI've been having transmission fluid leak from my truck for a while now. Very slow leak. At first I thought it was a hard line and replaced it but it was still leaking. Then I think I found where it was coming from. It looks to be fluid dripping on the bottom of both sides of my intercooler? On both identical spots. I am guessing perhaps I had a crack on my transmission oil cooler and driving blew it into the fins of my intercooler. I took my old one off and couldn't visibly see one. I have a brand new trans cooler installed now. Haven't drove yet as I am waiting on brake parts? I couldn't think of anything else on why it would leak off the intercooler?
View 6 RepliesI have a 95 celica gt with a 2.2 5sfe engine that has a bad oil leak. I was told it is the oil pressure switch. Looking it up it seems to be a cheap and simple fix.
View 7 RepliesI have a 3SFE 1997 engine. I've installed a Toga HV oil pump. My engine also has an oil cooler. But when I turn on the engine and accelerate it oil starts shooting out of the oil filter. When I remove the filter it has blown out the filters O-ring. I use 5W-30 since I've rolled it of the show room. What can it be?
View 4 RepliesMy brother was the original owner then passed it on to me. I then passed it on to my younger cousin about two years ago. The car is completely stock and has never been modified. Everything is OEM.Just a couple of weeks ago I was called by my cousin saying the car broke down on her .The problem is that we took it to a few mechanic shops but they still haven't fixed it ...
Problem with car: When pressing on the gas, the idle drops and then the car dies (a scary event that happened to us and on a main road). I do not wish to bring it to another fail mechanic shop. What the shops did: changed all fluids, distributor cap and plugs, new spark plugs, and replaced air intake piping with oem piping.
I dont know anything about cars, but I recently scratched the bottom of my bumper pretty bad. I see metal, so that would be a deep scratch right? I have done a little research and was wondering if this was the right way to repair it. First I sandpaper it. Then I use something (any recommendations) to fill up the scratch? Finally, I carefully paint it with some touch up paint.
View 3 RepliesI just changed the oil in the 04 GLS. It looks like the intercooler is leaking at the bottom hose. It does leave marks on the garage floor. Also I may have rear main seal leak too.
The car has 45K on it
