Celica :: 1995 Toyota GT - Crankshaft Pulley Have A Slight Wobble

Aug 24, 2015

I have a 95 Toyota Celica GT which started making a noise today. It does not seem to increase when the engine is revved. The crankshaft pulley seems to have a slight wobble, belt feels tight, does not appear worn. Does not matter if AC is on or off. No performance issues. I'm thinking harmonic balancer replacement.

Toyota - Celica :: How To Remove Spark Plugs To Turn Crankshaft

I'm trying to turn the crankshaft by hand to verify my timing belt alignment, but meeting some resistance. is this because I have the spark plugs in? do i have to take them out to turn the crank? also, that little groove in the belt guide doesn't seem to line up with anything or get held by the rib on the crankshaft. does that matter, or have i got it installed wrong?

Escort :: How To Tighten Crankshaft Pulley Bolt

On a 96 ford escort 1.9 liter with automatic trans, after replacing the timing belt, how do you tighten the crankshaft pulley bolt when I only have hand tools? It needs 90 or 95 foot pounds but you can't tighten it because the crankshaft just turns around and I can't find a way to lock the crankshaft without causing possible damage to the pulley or putting stress on the new timing belt. I thought of taking out the starter motor and somehow blocking the flywheel but I don't want to cause any damage to the flywheel teeth. Is there a special tool or method to do this???????

Ford - Escort :: 1993 - Crankshaft Pulley Touching Wheel Well / Body Of Car

I was driving my '93 Ford Escort and it threw off the serpentine belt that I had just replaced. When I went to replace it, I found that I couldn't get the serpentine belt on because the crankshaft pulley was touching the wheel well/car body.

A friend suggested that it is probably an engine mount issue, and I have replaced the front, and passenger side engine mounts, but that has not solved the problem. I'm planning on checking the rear engine mount and the transmission mount, but I was interested in hearing what else might be causing this?

Other details in case they are relevant: It's the 1.9l engine with 5 speed manual transmission. The engine itself seems to be running fine, except that the crank pulley rubs the wheel well.

Ford Ranger / B-Series :: 1989 2.3L - Stubborn Crankshaft Pulley / Not Come Off Easily

Needing to do a timing belt on the Ranger I bought, the crankshaft pulley just feels it needs to be stubborn and not come off easy. I know the front pulley is pushed on and kept in place with a pin, however I think my puller may be too large to fit where it needs to be to pull it off. I want to say I am just pulling an pushing on the same part but not sure. This is my first 4banger vehicle and I have never ran into such a deal even with working on the heavy OTR diesels.

I sprayed things down with Liquid wrench and let it sit while I unloaded and mounted an engine onto a stand last night. I think I might have to buy another puller and reduce the diameter of the pivoting end to fit, which I don't know why Ford would make a pulley on a 4banger engine family different than a 6 or V8 platform. Am I just dealing with a stuck piece?

Toyota - Celica :: 1995 - Won't Start - White Smoke From Engine?

95 Toyota Celica wouldn't start. Jumped off the battery and it starts but kills after only a few minutes. White smoke pours from the engine area - smoke not steam. I'm selling this car and have been starting and running it a couple times a week. This is the first time it's done this.

Chevrolet - Silverado :: Screeching Noise From Crankshaft Pulley When Engine Is Warm And Idling

Have a 1992 5.7 litre silverado with a screeching noise from the crankshaft pulley when engine is warm and idling. Noise goes away when engine is accelerated. Noise remains on crank pulley when serpentine belt is off pulleys. Did replace tensioner pulley, alternator, and idler pulley. No noise noted when started cold. Serpentine belt is only weeks old no signs of damage. No rough idle or performance changes noted just a annoying noise similar to a turbo but only when no torque is applied.

Toyota - 4 Runner :: 1995 - Hum / Slight Vibration Above 60 Mph

Ok. I can't figure this out, and 2 mechanics I took it to haven't figured it out yet. When I am at highway speeds, 6-70 mph, and I gently let off the gas, I can feel a slight vibration in the floor. You can also hear it if you listen. It stops when I completely let off the gas though, unless I'm going downhill, then it hums a few seconds longer before going away. I've had an alignment done, brand new pitman arm, idler arm, steering damper, and tune up. Also repacked the bearings in the right front wheel.

The mechanics do not see anything else that looks worn. They said the u-joints look ok. I don't get any clunking or banging anywhere. What else should I have them look at? Would that only cause the hum/vibration at highway speed? I was going to have the tires rotated and rebalanced to see if that fixes it.

I'm planning a 800 mile round trip camping trip in a week and would like to get this fixed before then. '95 4Runner 4x4 ....

Ford A/C :: Pulley Play (wobble) / Awful Noise Under The Hood But Not Constant

I have been hearing on occasion (not constant) an awfull noise under the hood. Even when I turn on the ac it doesn't change the depth of sound. I took the belt off and spun the idler pulley, tensioner, and ac pulley. When I spun the ac pulley I notice quite a bit of play (wobble). last summer sometimes I needed to give the clutch a bit of persuasion in order for it to kick in. Is this play (wobble) in the pulley normal? I've never had to replace an ac clutch so I don't have any experience to go on.

Phaeton :: Slight Wheel Wobble At High Speed

Ive had my new Phaeton just over three weeks and have ha to take it back to the dealer with a slight wheel wobble at high speed, I gather the geometry on these is quite complex and the alignment is usually done on all four wheels. Ford Super Duty (1999-2016) :: Slight Wobble After Hitting A Bump In The Road

I purchased the truck from a used car lot about 3 months ago and after driving for a few thousand miles I am feeling a slight wobble after hitting a bump in the road. Here is my truck set up:

- 2011 Ford Lariat F250 4X4 FX4 6.7 ltr
- 67400 miles
- Tires stock and great tread
- Rancho steering stabilizer kit
- Rancho Shocks
- Rear air bags

It does appear one of the rancho stabilizer dampers is leaking slightly. Why would the previous owner install a rancho stabilizer kit? Is it because of the rear air bags?

Vibration - Villager :: 1995 - Extreme Wobble All The Time / Driver Side Wheel Bearing Grease Squished Out

Could the constant wobble be caused from a bad wheel bearing? The wobbling and vibration gets really bad and it try's to setup an insistent shaking & vibrating at 35mph and I have to slow down to around 18 - 20mph to make it calm down. It sounds and feels like it wants to turn into the 'death wobble thing'. It is coming from the drivers side and after removing the drivers side front wheel, I've noticed the wheel bearing grease has all squished out all around the bearing on the inside of the bearing where the axle enters the bearing right after the ribbed boot. See the attached video. Does this grease coming out all over indicate that the wheel bearing is completely blown out thereby causing this extreme wobble and vibration?

Or could it be a from a combination of a worn tire on that side (which it has) and worn tie rods, ball joints, etc? ...after all the car is 19 years old.

I also have a problem with the heater blower - it does not work at any speed, doesn't even turn on. I can feel heat coming up into the car defrost and vents, but without the assistance of the blower. I can hear the relay click when I turn the heat on and off, and I already put in a new blower motor resistor. Could it be the fan switch itself? Or could the blower motor be blown? The fuses have been checked and are all good.
