My airbag light flashes six times when I turn my car on. Then it remains on while I'm driving. I have no clue what this means.

Pontiac - Sunfire :: 2002 - Check Engine Light Turned On Again?
Check engine light issue. For the past 3 months, my check engine light has been turning on. The first time it happened, the garage replaced the EVAP Purge Solenoid (which includes the vapor can purge solenoid and the EVAP canister purge solenoid). Of course, a few months later, the check engine light turned on again. The second time, the garage replaced the gas cap. Then the check engine light turned on again the next day.
So, the third time, the garage performed maintenance/repair on the vapor can purge solenoid and the EVAP canister purge solenoid. Of course, three days after driving my car, the check engine light turned back on. I've contacted the garage for the fourth time now. I explained that their diagnostics have obviously been exhausted, and they aren't really sure what the problem is. I'm going back in a few days to speak to the lead mechanic hoping to be compensated for their guess-work or at the least to be given an honest "I don't know" answer.

I had to replace the chain tensionor 3 times. I would like to know if that is a common problem with the 2.2L engines. How the chain is oiled while in operation.

I had been having battery issues with my 97 ford f150 4.6 liter for the longest time, thought i had a short under dash, i pulled entire dash out, disconnecting bat first of course, and inspected all wiring harness connections and fixing my issues and putting it all back together. now with new bat and all put back together i am now getting the airbag light flashing 5 times then 2 times (error code 52) i know it has some thing to do with power failure or backup battery, but now with the new battery in i cant seem to get it to reset. How to do this?

I just put a brand new engine in my 2004 f-150 4X4. Truck ran fine for two days. Yesterday I started the truck as usual put it in reverse. As I was backing up it just stopped running no warning nothing just stopped. All electrical still working fine gauges radio etc. When I turn the key I get nothing no starter nothing. The security light continues to flash slowly even when the key is turned on. Basically the best way I can describe it is. The truck is acting like it is in gear when I turn the key. And the odometer reads check gauges.

-At first, the car stereo wouldnt turn off when the car was turned off (the battery died many times :P) -I learned my lesson, and manually turned it off every time I got out.
-Then the radio started acting weird an randomly shut off, switched modes etc.
-Then while driving one day.. the "Theft" light turned on while driving and the radio shut off. The odometer read "error". It would go back to normal, but stay for longer periods of time when it happened.
-Then the car had problems starting, AND the day lights wouldn't turn off 50% of the time (I had too unhook the battery)
-Eventually the radio just stopped working and wouldn't turn on, and ALL the dash lights stayed on while driving, with none of the gauges working, while the odometer reads "error".
-After about a week of that, I decided to remove the radio. That actually worked alot. The MPH gauge and the RPM gauge now work, the front lights are back to normal. The car starts every time!
-However, the Gas gauge and Temp gauge still don't work, and the lights are all lit up on the dash and it still reads "ERROR"
I know it can be many things, but what steps can I take to find the "short" or "bad wire" or fix the problem. I know the hard part, is actually figuring out what is causing it.
Lexus GX 2004-09 :: Maintenance Required Light Blinked Five Times And Turned Off
So just trying to find out if this is normal. This is my wife's car so I don't drive it every day. I started it up to pull out of the garage and noticed the maint Req'd light blinking, it blinked about five times and turned off. Does it mean anything? if so, what? Just rolled over 100K. We bought it in late january and all the PM was done just wondering if they reset the oil reminder or what.

I have a 2000 Dakota quad cab with a 4.7 l when I turn on either turn signal itll flash 2-3 times or sometimes not even flash at all when it does it just stops u can hear the flasher working . What to check and how to check/ replace parts I need to get it working again is there a flasher inside the steering column. or is there just a relay on the side where the fuses are ?

Every time I start the truck, the Passenger Side Airbag light is on, which is saying the airbag is turned "OFF." I have to push the button to turn the light off, which turns the airbag "ON." How do I reset this to where the airbag is "ON" until I turn it "OFF?"

I have a 2000 passat wagon 1.8t and recently my oil pressure light comes on after engine temp. reaches about 175degrees... but it only comes on when I am running below 1650rpm's it will come on and beep and flash a couple times then go away what could cause this... oil pump? worn camshaft?
It does leak oil from somewhere on the bottom half of the block but its a very very very small leak and its had that since i got the car about 3 years ago. The car has 193,xxx miles on it now and I've also noticed i have cracked and broken oil breather hose? ... that starts from underneath the intake manifold...
Y+This hose goes from the engine block to the back of the engine then forward to the other side of the engine to my air filter... I've removed this hose and it is infact broken and dry rotted into about 4 pieces but I don't even know what the hell it is it also looks like i'll have to remove the intake manifold to put this hose back on and on the engine block!!
Camry 2012+ :: On Startup Maintenance Light Would Come On / Flash A Few Times Then Go Off

Basically the only way we can get my car to start is by hooking another battery up to it. Like, we plugged the tractor's battery up to it as we were going to jump it, but we didn't turn the tractor on. Then my car would start. The second we take the jumper cables off my battery it will die though. One time it did hold a charge for a minute or two before shutting off.
Also, my battery light is constantly on, even when hooked up to another battery, like the tractor one. We replaced the alternator today (got a brand new one) thinking that was the problem but still no dice. What else could it be? Could it be my battery that's less than 7-8 months old? It shows 11 volts when we put the meter on it. The new alternator is also showing that it's getting charge.
Cavalier :: 1996 Sunfire Is Not Shifting From 3rd To 4th Gear
My sunfire is not shifting from 3rd to 4th gear. I will shift fine all the way up to 3rd and then ir revs like it is in neutral when i hit about 43 mph. it gets a little bit of a jump if i get off the gas all the way and then back on it and i can get it up to 55 but the rpm's are at 4.5. I read a few different posts that seemed like they may have had the same problem but they werent describing the way my car is acting. I went and got the fluid exchanged today and also changed the throttle position sensor on a whim because someone told me it could be the problem.

I have 99 Sunfire 2.2L doesn't like to start right away. You turn the key and it cranks, cranks, cranks, and does that for about 5-8 seconds then start. If I shut the car off and turn it back on within an hour it seems to start pretty quick,(my only crank for a second or two).. It seems to be when it sets for a few hours it just hates to start. It always cranks strong .. i.e. it doesn't crank weak or slow like when your batter is very low.
I put a new alternator in it about 3 years ago and new battery in it last week. I do not have a system or any accessories that maybe causing any interruption. I have had this problem for year now and I have had it.
Caprice :: 1989 - Battery Warning Light Flash Several Times When Driving
Today, I was driving my 89 Caprice, and I got the "Battery" warning light flash several times.
After, I noticed my headlamp not turning on anymore, as well as the instrument panel light. After playing around, my interior light doesn't work as well.
When I have the radio on, and I press the "headlamp" switch on the left side, the Radio goes into static. What could the issue be?
Cavalier :: 2000 Sunfire - Engine Stalls Out / Drop In RPM
2000 sunfire SE 2.2 L engine. Firstly, I should mention the present temperature out here is -37 C.
So here is the issue I am experiencing. The car does not idle smoothly. In fact I find it idles a lot lower then my fiances 2005 sunfire (hers idles at about 1000 RPM). My car idles around 750 RPM. and I've noticed for last couple months when just idling its not very smooth. The RPM will idle at 750 and then drop down a bit and back up again. It never has been a big problem till now.
While driving it yesterday, whenever I would let go of the accelerator the RPM would drop right down to 500RPM, and you would hear as the heater (air blowing) would completely drop down, and lights would dim significantly, and then within a split second, RPM would jump back up to 750 and blower and lights would return to normal. It almost feels as if the RPM is too low for Alternator?? That it's not able to produce enough power for electrical devices. As well, while braking if the ABS kicks in again I see this drop in RPM along with lights dim and blower airflow drop. Once again only for a split second though.
Here is the big problem. the drop in RPM and amount of disruption it causes actually had my car stall when I let go of gas and hit brake and had ABS kick in.
I am not sure if this is a problem with having the idle set too low, spark plug problem or something do with alternator?
Cavalier :: 2001 Sunfire / 2.4 L Engine - Car Shaking Back And Forth
I have a 2001 Pontiac Sunfire with a 2.4 liter engine.
I just had the waterpump replaced and the lower coolant tube, I believe it's called, by a mechanic, which was quite a long job and a bit of a costly bill.
I went to pick the car up earlier and as soon as I started it up, the car was shaking back and forth as I was sitting in park. I immediately got out and went and told the mechanic. He looked under the hood, and the engine was very clearly shaking back and forth.
He couldn't give me an explanation as to why it would be shaking like this - and it wasn't doing it before I brought it in to have the water pump changed. It's the weekend now and he's closed on the weekend, but he said to just drive it for a couple days to see if it evens itself out.
What would be causing this and if there's any issues that could have occurred when he was replacing the water pump that could cause the engine to do this? Also, the engine light is not on.
Cavalier :: 2002 Sunfire / Growling Noises From Transmission / Axles?
Brief history: Took possession two days ago - wife's car (we've separated). In December she put the car in a ditch during a snowstorm. The car has been driven less than 100 miles since that happened. She said that she thought she'd damaged something, since it made a strange sound when driving. I figure it would make a good work transportation vehicle.
I jacked it up today to have a look and there was some plastic splash guards on the pass. side which were damaged and rubbing on the tire. I thought! Removed them and still had the noise.
It appears that the pass. front wheel took the brunt of the impact (broken splash guard and the wheel cover was cracked). I thought maybe the wheel bearing/hub may be bad, but after checking it out (pulling top to bottom, side to side), it didn't seem too bad. I checked at the point where the axle enters the transmission and there is a bit of play when pushing up on the axle. I could also hear a click inside the transmission while doing so, like a gear hitting into another.
It also looks as if the axle is pulled out about a 1/4 inch or so from the transmission seal, as the metal is shiny and not rusted as if it had been this way for a long time. ( I have pics of this but no site to host them).
my question is this - could it be the differential bearing (hope not, don't feel like cracking tranny apart)? Should I attempt to try and whack the axle back in that 1/4 inch? Has ever heard of an axle pulling out of the tranny after an accident?
Ford Escape / Hybrid :: 2001 - Airbag Light C1414 Flash Code 29
I picked up a 2001 Escape 2.0 manual with 160K. She runs great but I realized that the airbag light was burned out so I hooked up my scanner and pulled 2 codes C1414 and B1869. I changed the bulb and cleared the B1869 but the C1414 remains. the airbag light also flashes and gives me a 29 code. I am not finding much on the subject. The airbags appear to be there and it does not appear that it has been wrecked. I am guessing that it is the airbag control module. Where the module is located on this vehicle.

I've got a 2004 Cavalier and when the heater is turned on it makes a clicking noise (sounds like someone on a snare drum playing over and over again) You can feel it if you touch the bottom of the Heater/AC module on the passenger side of the car above your feet. It stops when you turn the heater control to the recirculation position.
My guess is it's the recirculation door actuator motor, but I can't find it through NAPA or any automotive parts online sites, what the Chevy part number is for this, and/or a parts blowup of the HVAC module? Also, the factory service manual I've got says that the entire HVAC unit needs to be drained of 134 and removed from the vehicle to replace this actuator, does it can be done without removing the entire unit? From the few pictures it shows of where the actuator is, that part appears to be near the top (that's why I'd like to see a parts blowup if possible).
Chevrolet - Cavalier :: 2004 - Rattling Noise When Turned On
Last week my car started making a rattling noise whenever I turned it on and when I went over bumps or potholes in the road. It sounded like it was coming from the trunk latch or something. It also started squeaking- I knew it wasn't my breaks because I wasn't using my brakes when the squeaking happened. I finally realized my muffler is jiggling around, so I crawled under my car to check it out. There's a part on the left of the muffler right by the rear tire that connects the muffler to the under side of the car. It looks like something is missing- rubber or something that holds the pieces of metal there. Is this something I can find and fix myself? Or do I need to go to a mechanic? I was going to zip-tie it up, but there's not really anything to loop it through. Will my car be further damaged if I don't fix it soon? (2004 Chevy Cavalier)
