Turn wipers on and motor growls but wipers do not move, checked 30 amp fuse and it is good, all other functions of the multifunction switch are good.
View 2 RepliesMy wipers quit mid wipe. I think it might be the motor. Here is what I know. I can hear the motor when I turn the wipers on, but they are stuck in the middle. If I push the blades down, it gets through the middle of the stroke, but stops in the middle again on the next pass. The solvent squinter is not working (yes there is wiper fluid). I am not hearing a grinding or anything.

View 4 RepliesI have no wipers or windshield washer. when I turn on the wipers I can hear a click in the cowl at the wiper motor. fuses are good #106 30amp fuse and #33 15 amp fuse. I have 12volts at the wiring on the motor left side with key on and 4.5 volts on the green wire with key off. I replaced the wiper motor and same thing, just clicks when I try wipers. I connected a jumper wire to the ground and no luck.
View 11 Replies i have a 2000 Chrysler Grand Voyager. So as a preface, I've had some intermittent electrical issues, the wipers all of a sudden started acting odd ,not turning off, the intermittent setting working oddly, or won't return to the park position. So as i pull off the highway to day my van just stops running. I was fortunately close to my destination, and was able to get towed by a friend the rest of the way.
Now here is the odd part, any time there was a load on the tow strap (attached to the motor mount) it tried to start itself, yes i was in neutral, the speedo would act up (jumping from no reading to 120mph), and the wipers started to go!?!?! I've gt a charger on it wondering if I have some issues due to funky battery voltage, other than that I'm not sure what way to go with this.
Used to have the wipers move up or down about 1" at stop lights to reverse the blade and extend their life. Now, that doesn't seem to happen. I went into the convenience settings some time ago, but don't believe I changed anything relating to this.
View 4 RepliesSometimes when I take the key out of the ignition, the wipers move up slightly. I notice the passenger's blade most as it parks a bit higher than the driver's blade, so when they move up the right one is more obvious. They don't move a full cycle, just up about an inch and stop.

View 3 RepliesI have a 2003 Chrysler Town and Country and my problem started with no reverse after starting car. If I pushed it back and drove forward 10 or 15 feet then reverse would work fine and shift properly. As long as I could drive forward first then reverse would work. This was like this for a few days then the vehicle wouldn't move at all. There wasn't any error codes. The fluid is full and clean.
When the van was about a year old I took it to the dealer with harsh shifting and they said there was a broken wire to the trans, I am thinking this is when they came out with the 3 wire slice people where talking about.
I wasn't needing the van so it has been sitting now for almost a year. Now I want to get it working again...
I have to over rev the engine to get the van to move. After that the tranny seems to work fine. Tranny fluid level is OK, and it does not smell burnt. After I over rev the engine to get moving, the engine revs seem to get back into sync for the speed I'm doing - usually just as the van starts moving, the over-revving is no longer there. Do I need to adjust the bands??
View 2 RepliesI bought a good running and clean ' 87 Caravan last year and it's a good one. When I bought it, the speed of the windshield wipers were very slow. The delay part of the wipers didn't work. Recently, the wipers quit working all together. I checked the fuses, they are fine. I have an ' 89 Caravan parts van that I removed the "tested and working" wiper motor. Installed it and it's still not working. What else am I missing here?

I press the washer lever towards and the washer fluid comes out, but the wipers don't move. They are not stuck on the windshield because of ice or anything either. What can I check?The next question is the turn signal. What does the lever do when you push the lever towards the dash? It clicks, but I don't notice that it does anything?
View 8 RepliesMy wipers are set in "maintenance mode" or something needs to be adjusted. Every time I start my car and start to move, the wipers move slightly and make a jolt sound. At first I wasn't sure what it was, thought maybe it was the brakes or something but a few weeks ago I realized it was the wipers moving. It only happens after I start the car and start moving. After that initial take-off, they don't move anymore until I re-start the engine.
Is this normal or do I need to adjust something? Just know that the wipers do have a maintenance mode.
The gear shift works fine, and we lifted the hood and saw that the mech. arm IS working when we shift. However, the van will not move into any gear. won't go forward, reverse, etc... it acts like it isn't shifting.
i was driving down the highway, and noticed it wasn't accelerating and stepped on the gas.. .and nothing. I stopped the van, put in park, turned it off. Started it again, and put in D and wouldn't go, just engine revved. then put in reverse and same thing... didn't move but engine revved.
I've had problems with "phantom" or "ghost" wipers on my 1998 Dodge Caravan for the last few years. They come on at random, whether the switch is engaged or not, and stay on for random times, sometimes continuously. No manipulation in the multifunction switch changes the operation. They just come on and go off as they please. Furthermore, the climate control blower will often act up, not coming on right away, sometimes taking several minutes of driving before it starts blowing. I've also noticed a very occasional problem with the instrument panel not functioning and then later starting to work again. I've seen a lot about the BCM being the problem, but it would seem like if the BCM was malfunctioning it wouldn't ever work right. This FEELS like a grounding or wiring damage issue.
View 8 RepliesWe were borrowing my brother-in-law's 2006 Jetta and the day after a snow storm, the windshield wipers stopped working. They came up half way and then stopped and don't move further. You can hear a whirring noise,like something is trying to go, but no movement. We've been quoted $500-600 to replace the windshield wipers and motor, but we don't think they need to be replaced, just repaired.
View 6 RepliesI'm having trouble with my 96' 3.0L, its kind of crazy its intermittent and while driving the engines surges one or twice and then dies... when I try to crank it up again cranks but don't starts if I try again it wont even crank ( no starter winding up ) what I noticed is that is I'm driving when it dies my check engine light disappears for a while and if I connect my OBD 2 reader does not link up with the ECU if I wait a while and I crank it up again its starts and the while cranking up I can hear a bang noise from the engine compartment drives side and then after a couple of minutes dies again...

View 1 RepliesI have a 96 voyager, it has been a great car for the last 10 years I've had it. My brake pedal goes down to the floor, it gives brake but I think barely and my brake light comes on. I have Bled it twice and changed the master cylinder , neither worked, I'm perplexed, my mechanic thinks it is the abs.
View 3 Replies1996 Plymouth Voyager ... My Van has about 90,000 miles and runs good. The heat worked great last year but is just blowing cold air out this year. I do not know where to start looking for the problem. I do not have a over-heating problem and it blows air out just as strong as before this problem. I had to replace the battery last month, could that have anything to do with this problem?
View 3 RepliesI have a 2006 Dodge Caravan that when I drive at highway speeds and it's wet out, my air bad light comes on and about 50% of the time, the radio, fan, windshield wipers, and 12v outlet stop working suggesting the fuse or some other wiring is getting wet. The dealer cannot replicate and will not suggest any fixes. What do I have my local mechanic replace or seal?
I know there's a Chrysler recall on 2005-2006 Caravans, #J38, but my Caravan falls outside the specs by 2 mths (it was for vehicles in service between Jan 2005 and April 2006).
