The door that hides the power outlet and tray right in front of the armrest .... mine opens about 80 degrees and is sounds like it hits something inside the console as it opens. I was wondering if it is supposed to open straight up and down or not?
View 3 RepliesMy passenger side front and rear windows dont work. Both driver side windows work, just not the right side/passenger side.
Also when I press the master door lock/unlock switch on the driver seat, every door except the rear passenger door works. It stays unchanged so I guess it is not receiving a signal or something is not letting the signal reach the lock.
So last night I go to pick up my daughter and the doors are unlocked but her door won't open. I try from the outside and no luck. I get in the back on the driver's side and the lock button is on. I open the door with some difficulty and it opens. It's been fine since.
Today I tried to open that window and the window wouldn't open from my console or from the rear passenger side switch.
Now that I have the audio upgraded in my LS, we have uncovered a slight issue with the drivers rear door. The installers will work with me, but I thought there is so much knowledge up here, why not ask.
Everything else on the vehicle works perfect, its just this one door as if all the power is off or disconnected.(ACC or ON power it functions fine) I have checked the fuses under the driver side and the ones in the trunk, they are all fine and we took the front driver door apart to make sure any connections were good. everything seems secure, we even looked over the ECU in the door to make sure it didn't seem fried or anything, all functions on front and passenger doors are perfect.
Here are the symptoms: passenger rear door light wont come on with the door open unless the ACC is on. the other 3 turn on, with or without ACC.
The door lock actuator from the outside on this door wont lock the doors or with the sensing when you approach with the fob and grab the handle (as in the lights there wont light up).
The door closer that finishes off the door being slightly open wont grab and pull it in.
The trunk lights wont come on and there is no fuse or connection issue we can see. Its puzzling.
So on my 2001 passat v6 the trunk wont open with the switch on the driver door for some reason and it seems the previous owner wanted to fix it and instead messed up and now the rear driver side door wont open even when its "unlocked".

View 6 RepliesI have a 2005 Toyota Camry that we purchased 14 months ago. When purchased it had bad brakes so the dealer replaced the rotors and calipers at their expense. A month ago I took the car in for a routine oil change and was notified that my rear calipers were stuck open and that my rear brakes were not working and rusted. The rotors look hardly worn, the one on the passenger side has some deep grooves in it and the driver side is pitted. We feel that we had poor work done when the brakes were replaced and that the back never worked. After the brake job was done we would get some "chinging" noise in the back brakes and I had them inspected twice and they said everything was fine. But now we find out they weren't fine.
View 8 RepliesI walk up the car, try to open rear door(doesn't open) drivers side door opens.. get the message, 'side light on' on MFI my lights are set as automatic, no turn signals on. try to start car w/ starter button, no go. try key, nothing. try full left, then full right(as if 1 battery dead) get 'immobile. active' finally got it started, after..[what did it] open hood, close hood. unlock/lock car w/ clicker several times. insert key w/ opposite side up.[normally when using the key, I have an emergency button up]. car starts.
Had a similar issue again later in a day, but got a key icon on MFI after it started. i'm going to try a different key, to see if that makes any difference. as starter button glows and clicker works to unlock/lock. I can't imagine the system doesn't see the key as visible. in the manual, it states that if the key doesn't appear present the immobilizer is activated.
So a few weeks back the rear right door started to not open from the outside and now a cople of days ago the door wont open from the inside...
How can you open a door when the lock or something is broken both from the inside and outside do i have to unscrew the door from the brackets or what?
I have a problem with the rear right door on my 2006 GS300. It wont unlock no matter what I do. When I try with the key it just makes a funny whirring sound, and the inside lock switch does nothing at all. I need to take a look at the door but obviously I cannot get it open to do so.
View 12 RepliesSo I was having a problem with my right rear door on my '99 Passat. Even when unlocked, I could not open it from the outside, just the inside. So today my dad decides to take a look at it and opens it (from the inside) and puts the child safety lock on... and closes the door. So now I can't get in through that door from either way.
View 4 RepliesLearning how to operate my newly acquired 2004 V8 Phaeton...not too mention convincing me to purchase one. I think I even like its occassional quirkiness, such as TPMS faults - its like it has a personality.
Anyway, I have not found an answer to a problem which started yesterday:
- Rear driver-side door won't operate using outside handle
- Confirmed its unlocked, can open from inside & child locks (not that those should affect it) are off
- No problem opening passenger side rear door
- I think I hear a mechanism in the door moving when I pull the outside handle on the working side, don't hear it on the non-working door
I believe there is a cable which is attached to the door handle which may have come loose. I do have a VW Real Driver Warranty (10 Years)...and although door handles are specifically excluded, I don't think this is likely a "door handle" problem, but rather something inside the door which has broken.
I've seen posts about this problem online, but no one has listed a good fix. There seem to be LOTS of '06 Lucernes with back doors that won't open. It is not a child door lock issue as the customer has no kids needing such protection, and the door should open from the outside anyway.
I need to remove the inner door panel, but can't figure out how to do that with the door closed. Once the door panel is off, I can probably see what's going on inside, and maybe fix it.
I am driving a 2012 Sante Fe with a bit of a problem. A rear door does not open from inside nor outside. Is there a way to remove the panel to gain access with the door closed?
View 3 RepliesI finally got rid of my 2.0 and upgraded to the Vr6 5-speed. The other day my driver side rear door just came open. I tried closing it but it just bounce back open. I tried those methods of YouTube to see if that works but still nothing. Now i had to tie my door shut and experience my car not being locked completely. My alarm would go off and everytime i drive my car, i have to deal with that annoying ding the car makes when the doors are open.

How in the world can I find out and fix the problem if I can't get the door open to get the door panel off??? And yes, I've tried unlocking it...
So far I have not been able to get the rear door open on the driver side. I was able to remove the plastic panel so I could see inside. The cable is attached to the handle, but not the latch mechanism at the bottom of the door. I have searched this and other sites and looked for pics on the internet...no luck yet.
Looking for an image of the latch mechanism for the driver barn door ... something that will hopefully show where the cable attaches and/or how I can manually (no cable attached) open the door.
Also, I am having issues with the door ajar light. I am almost certain that this is from the rear of the truck. Is the sensor for door ajar on the hatch, driver barn door, passenger barn door, more than one?
I have a 2000 F150 Super Cab and my son slammed the rear door shut on the passenger side and now it will not open. I can feel the cable flopping around up high in the door, but it is still attached at the mechanism inside the panel. Here's what I have done thus far:
- Pulled the panels off and checked the cables. All are attached at the door lever mechanism under the rear window.
- Pulled the rubber seal back at the top to expose the latch.
- Took a wire coat hanger bent straight and tried in vain to release the upper latch.
- Since it is shut, I can't remove both screws holding the latch in, thus I can't simply take it off and move it to a position where I might get to it easier.
