View 4 RepliesSo a noise has come up in my Sonata. Sounds like it's behind the dash. Only happens when the car is idling in drive and the AC is on. With the slightest increase in rpm, it goes away. Doesn't happen in N or P. Sometimes goes away, but also sometimes gets louder than what I recorded below. I've only checked the dash and glove box so far. [URL] ......
View 5 RepliesI've got a 2007 Camry V6. My front rotors were doing great until about 42k miles, when they started vibrating. I knew that it was relatively common, and I replaced them with NAPA OEM parts.
That lasted about 15k, when they started vibrating again.I halfway expected this, and replaced them with high end NAPA parts - ceramic pads, the high end rotor thinking that better parts would equal longer life.
So here I am about 10k or 12k later, and I've got wavy rotors again. I've let it ride for a while, but now I'm tired of it.
Is there a permanent solution for this? A particular brand of pads and rotors? Do I need to replace the whole brake system on both of the front wheels?
I have a 2011 Camry and I have noticed that there is always a rotating sound coming from the front wheels. The frequency increase as I speed up and decreases as I speed down. I don't think it is the bearing since it always comes, not while turning or changing lanes.
I have attached a video. You can listen to it. The noise starts at 00:27 mark. It is very noticeable around the 1:10 mark. Sounds like something is rubbing against the wheel. Not sure what can cause this sound.

I have a 2012 SE 4 Cylinder Special Edition and just hit 60,000. Lately, I have been noticing this vibrating/shaking in the front of the car when I'm coasting or accelerating at a slow speed. What it could be? I got my front end alignment done thinking it could be that but it still continued.
View 7 RepliesI replaced the front brake pads of my 2001 B5 Passat with the PBR metal master brake pads. Recently, I've been getting a vibrating noise from my front suspension when I drive. The noise is like something is about to fall apart. After checking it out at the local dealership, the service advisor told me that the brake pads didn't have any clamps to secure it thus causing the ticking noise. He said I need to get the OEM brake pads. I know that PBR is not the OEM brake pads, but I thought no brake pads come with a clamp like he is describing. He insist that the OEM brake pads do. I checked the brake pads that I replaced and they were Akebonos.
My questions are:
1. What clamp is he talking about?
2. Is the clamp something that comes with the brake pads or a separate part that I have to get somewhere else?
I have a 2006 Camry SE 4cylinder. Started the car this morning and heard a vibrating noise from under the hood. Popped the hood and listen closely and it was the alternator wire vibrating. I put my hands on the wire to confirm the vibration. I shook the wire and the vibration stop, but then smoke was coming out of the alternator. Is this a sign of a bad alternator?
View 11 RepliesI have an 08 camry v6 with 31K. I noticed when I got off the highway after driving for about a 1/2 hour the engine had a loud vibrating/ticking noise when I stepped on the gas. This morning when the car was cold and I drove it locally it was fine, i also checked the oil and it's clean and full. Not sure what's going on. Also this only happened after I had the whole car painted not sure if it's related since I dont know if they take parts off to paint a whole car.

View 5 RepliesI've got a loud, intermittent, swooshing, vibrating noise from the front left wheel area at highway speeds. I put a camera down there and saw that when there was noise, the front driveshaft and front left halfshaft were spinning. When they stopped spinning on their own, the noise stopped. Hubs are Warn Premium (gold) and unlocked. Unit bearing already replaced. What could it be?
View 10 Replies2011 F350 diesel with 10,000 miles. I have been experiencing problems with the truck loosing power, making rough running noise (pinging like an older diesel), and vibrating. As though the motor is bogging down. It usually occurs on small inclines or hills with the truck in higher gears and low rpms. It will also occur running on flat ground 65-70 mph. Had it occur once while turning the truck around in 1st gear and low rpms. Depressing the accelerator will bring the truck out of it.
This problem occurs randomly sometimes a couple of times a week to not at all. Took to dealer and they found no codes and of couse it didn't do it on the hour long test drive I took the mechanic on. However they did say they had two other owners come in with the same complaints, but could not get trucks to repeat the issue. Problem usually occurs in the hotter part of the day, maybe just coincidence. I had seen similar posts with this problem but no conclusions.
For Camry owners with a possible diagnosis for a bad front wheel bearing. About a week ago, I started to hear a low pitched hum from the front of the car, noticeable at first between 35 and 40MPH. Above 40 MPH, the sound kind of mixed with road noise, so it was difficult for me to determine if the sound got louder, etc.
This sound was reduced as the car was braking and disappeared completely when stopped at a light or parked in neutral.
I did not notice any change in the noise when turning left or right, but this observation MAY NOT have been accurate since I do not make many turns at 35-40 mph.
Took the car into the dealership and they diagnosed a bad front wheel bearing, which they had to order. Since this is a 2011 Camry with only 11,000 miles on it, it is a warranty repair.
I've recently noticed that my 2013 hyundai sonata would start vibrating/shaking, if I were to release my brakes slowly (It doesn't shake if I release it fast). I was wondering if there are any problems with that?
I do not feel any vibration in the car when I press /slam the brake. The only time I feel the car shaking is when I would slowly release the brake.
When driving my 2013 Sonata with the rear windows open the deck below the back window starts vibrating horribly. You can actually see it moving up and down. If I also have the stereo on the vibrations distort the sound something awful. Close the window and the vibration goes away. Is it a defect, and is there a quick fix? Only problem with the car so far.
View 2 RepliesI have a 2011 camry le, just got its 10,000 service the other day. When I am stopped with my foot on the brake and the vehicle in drive gear, I can hear a rattle coming from the front. But when i let go of break and accelerate it stops rattling. I told the dealer at the service but they told me they could no duplicate it.
View 12 RepliesI have a 2011 base model Camry.
The passenger side front door lock (electronic) stopped working a while back.
I fixed the drivers side issue when replacing the speakers in the car (driver side would stick and sometime not move by hand).
What is the best way to determine if the door lock actuator is dead or something else is wrong?
There's a pump or ?? I'm not sure . Our "11 6.7 is making whining vibrating sound coming off passenger side , front of valve cover . Not sure what this is . Nothing I'm searching is telling me n I'm not best with diesels .
View 3 RepliesOver the last few weeks, my '12 Azera has developed some sort of noise I assume to be from the suspension, particularly on the right front. When the car sits for a long amount of time, there is a bumping/rattling noise when driving it. It takes a long time for it to go away. If I drive it a bit, turn it off for a bit, then drive it again, it won't do it any more.
I'm thinking it could be the strut mount bearing. I had a GM car that did the same thing and that was the problem. They replaced the strut mount and never did it again.
I have a 2012 camry se i4 (29k miles). So, when i shift to R the car start vibrates, i can feel it when i hold the steering wheel. Also, something at the stop sign or red light, i can feel the car vibrates. I live in MN, the weather is really cold and a lot of snow now. Is that why?
View 6 RepliesI'm trying to find why my car's steering wheel vibrates. This happens at all speeds regardless or acceleration or breaking.
View 3 RepliesWhen sitting around in Drive at idle, my 2013 Camry is vibrating VERY noticeably at idle when the A/C is running. Turn the A/C off and idle goes back to normal.
I don't seem to remember this last summer - is this pretty normal for the I4 models? It seems to happen when the engine is at low RPM in gear and goes away if I blip the throttle or put the car into Neutral or Park. Even more shaky in reverse.
I usually run 87 octane, but have tried a tank of 89 and 93 with much the same result, but a little more power from a stop in hot weather. This feels very unusual for a 2013 car - my old 2002 Nissan didn't seem to even notice that the A/C was on.
