View 2 RepliesI installed a new cabin air filter and I am getting some fan vibration noise. Gets really noticeable around speed 3 or 4. What could be causing it? It is the TY brand filter.
View 4 RepliesI have a 2013 Camry XLE V6, and it now has almost 17,400 miles on it. About a month ago, I replaced the Cabin Air Filter (was definitely dirty) and the Engine Air Filter (was somewhat dirty). I made triply sure that I installed the Cabin Air Filter the correct way (the Air Filter is easier, as there is only one way to put it on).
In any event, after the car sits a while, and I start it up, whether I let air circulate from the outside or not, when I press the fan button for the A/C, initially a "musky" smell is present, but it does go away fairly quickly. (I have not tried this in "heat" (non A/C) mode yet). Why this happens? Seems somewhat strange (by the way, I used the correct STP filters that I previously purchased at AutoZone).
Seems too coincidental to be unrelated. I installed a new K&N filter into my '04 GLX Wagon and 2 days later my MIL light came on. No blinking just always on. Is there a connection between the two? If I swap out the filters will the light go out on it's own or does it need to be reset? If it's not the filter what's the most common cause of the light coming on? Assuming is doesn't start blinking I have read it's OK to drive until fixed.
View 2 RepliesI installed my i-throttle but I might have done some steps wrong don't remember exactly but now my check engine light is on.I throttle works fine. Is there a way to fix this and make the check engine go.
View 2 RepliesSome time late last year a branch or something managed to rip my filter off my cold air intake.. the check engine light came on and I ignored it, simply thinking I had not tightened the gas cap.
So last week, I went to get my 2003 Suzuki Aerio SX, with 160K miles inspected, and they told me it was through a code that the mass air flow sensor was bad.. Later they find out my filter is just missing.. the clamp and a section of the rubber was still on the tip.. but the rest of long gone.
So I have been driving, 4 or 5K miles with no filter. I buy some mass air flow sensor cleaner, spray it and now my car idles at just under 2K RPM but slowly creeps up to around 3K RPM. It drives fine, but when I pop it out of gear or hold the clutch down. it starts to go nuts.
I put a brand new K&N filter on, I didn't add any oil to it as it didn't say it needed any and it wasn't dry, but not soaked either.
Now when I went to remove my Mass Airflow Sensor, I did remove a couple other parts first by mistake. I fiddled with the temperature sensor inside my cold air intake, but I couldn't get it out due to the rubber ring around it holding it in and sealing it. I also removed the Fuel Injection Manifold Pressure Sensor but I am pretty sure I put it back on fine. and I did remove the Throttle Position Sensor.. so maybe thats my issue?
what should I do to troubleshoot it?
I sprayed wd40 on the throttle above the engine, not sure if it was it or not but my engine was idling at a lower 1800 rmp for a while, still high but not as bad, I took it for a ride around the block and when I got back it was at 3K again, it did run at a steady 20 mph in second gear with my foot off the gass completely.
I've got a 2009 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport. I went in to a Jiffy-Lube type of place for an oil change, they showed me I had a dirty air filter and I had them change it. I went in averaging around 25 mpg (between high 24's and mid 25's), and after I left, I began averaging around 20 mpg, it currently reads 19.5. I went back to see if they had installed it incorrectly or left plastic packaging on it or something, but all seemed okay.
View 14 RepliesI need to change the engine and cabin filter on our Camry what brand do you recommend also does it really matter if you purchase the expensive filters vs 5.00 to 10.00 ones? I ask because looks like Toyota OEM filters are normal paper filters.
View 4 RepliesWhat are the toyota part numbers for 2012 SE 4cyl...
1) Engine Air Filter(element)
2) Cabin Air Filter
How to remove the engine air filter you have to unscrew the front and back of the housing? Yeah. So I'm missing the back bolt AND the metal/silver thing that holds it in place. The dealer told me they don't sell the part separately and I'd have to purchase a whole new unit ...
Additionally, the engine air filter housing vibrates heavily. It's not due to the above and what's causing it. It's vibrating so much I'm almost afraid it's going to damage other parts.
This is a 2009 Camry LE 4 cyl.
After replacing fuel filter, pump relay, and air filter for good measure my 2002 f250 v10 gas engine still wont start. What to do?
View 13 RepliesI took my relatively well maintained '98 Camry to Texaco Xpress Lube and they changed my oil and air filter. I then embarked on a 400mile trip to Miami. The next morning when I went to start the car, I fogged the entire neighborhood with a thick low-lying white vapor/smoke. It was ridiculous. So, I opened the hood and noticed my coolant reservoir was nearly empty and my oil dipstick was bone dry. Thinking this was awfully strange, I went to inspect the air filter and noticed that they installed a filter that was short by about 1.5" in one dimension and I could see sand, leaves, and twigs in the bottom of the air box. The shop basically put a square filter in a rectangular air box. After some preliminary research, I've concluded that my engine is now completely ruined because of this. From what I gather, the sand in the airbox enterred the combustion chamber and proceeded to grind the internal components to smithereens. Is this a reasonable conclusion considering my engine has never had these problems before. Also, how would I even start to get some rectification?
View 19 RepliesIs it easy, I see that LE Camrys are pre-wired for fogs.
View 14 RepliesI am looking to install HID lights into my headlight. Successfully i have installed the regular hid into the headlamp for regular use lights. Now i have a question on the high beam which is together with the Drl. Do i have to get a bixenon kit for this socket to get the drl running and the high beam when selected? Or can i just install a regular lo/hi hid. And will it send low output for the drl and then when selected for the high beam it will function as it should?

View 4 RepliesI'm very eager tall footwell led lights connected to dome, looking for step by step methods since I am not familiar with wiring. What supplies are needed to perform this job and how to install.
Btw have Camry SE 2010 no sunroof. Interested installing both front and back footwell.
I don't like how they aren't in the middle of the slots of the front bumper. Where the chrome strips are. I wish they were in the middle of that, instead of towards the outside.
In this video the technician shows that there are holes that you need to drill. This allows you to fasten the DRLs to the bumper.. can I drill the holes in the middle? Would it look stupid up close?

View 1 RepliesI have a 2006 Solara convertable. I would like to install a new deck with PS/Nav/ Bluetooth. First will a deck fro a Carmy fit in a Solara? If so what years are compatable?
View 1 RepliesFew weeks ago, I got the Tein spring installed on my camry. Drop 1.5/1.6 front/rear.
Problem is now I sometimes hear this clunking sound from the rear. It doesn't happen very frequently, just every once in a while when i drive through a small&sudden bump.
Only from the rear, nothing from front of the car.
Another thing is that when i reverse & turn (ex. getting out of garage), it makes one or two cracking noise from the front, small clunking sound from the rear.
I'm suspecting the strut may be bad. The mechanic guy said that my rear struts are bad (when he was installing the springs).
Am I in need to get new struts ?
