Camry :: IS300 OEM Struts Fit On 2002 XLE?

Jul 1, 2014

Sold my slammed 2003 is300 5spd and picked up a less exciting 2002 camry xle. I wanna make the ride stiffer so since I still have the stock struts I was wondering if they would fit? or should I just get lowering springs. Also do seats from solara or is300 swap in?

Camry :: 2002 - Front Or Rear Struts - Which One To Do First

2002 Camry, 140K miles.

While I don't have any leaky struts etc, I have been planning to change struts proactively when I find time. (NOT Quick struts, have monroe OE Spectrum struts).

I understand I have to do them in pairs.

Which one takes more time? Fronts or rears?

And I am guessing alignment won't be way off if I first say do the front set then weeks later the rear?

Lexus IS 2014+ :: IS300 Vs IS350?

I am curious about the new 2016 IS3XX cars - it looks like the mileage is the same, displacement the same, engine the same (?) so what do they do to the car to reduce the HP by about 50? Seems strange that anyone would buy a 300 - do they want less HP and torque?

I wonder how hard it would be to reverse the "detuning" to get he IS300 up to 306 HP?

Camry :: 2009 - Struts Are Leaking

I have a 2009 XLE v6 with 82,000 miles. I have decided to replace the struts because they are leaking bad and beginning to see unusual tire wear (cupping). Based on what I have read, I have decided to use KYB struts. Should the springs be replaced at the same time?

Camry :: The Back Of Car Is Bit High After New Quick Struts

In 2014 I had the rear struts replaced with a set of Quick-Struts. There was an immediate improvement in handling, and although the back of the Camry would sit a bit high, I was told they would eventually settle down. Well, a trip from Arizona, then back down, and now this spring, back up to BC, and they have not "settled" down.

When I got the steering serviced recently at a friends garage, I asked them to confirm the new strut parts. They ran the numbers off the parts and confirmed they are the correct part numbers for my '05 Camry. While I supposed it's great for lots of luggage and two bikes on the rack, it just doesn't look right.

Golf IV / Jetta IV :: 2002 - Swapping Struts And Wheel Bearing Housings

I have an 02 Jetta with the 2.0 that I have been trying to resurrect. We've owned it from new and it's been a great commuting car but it was in desperate need for some TLC. The car has been very reliable for 250k-km and I want to make it last at least another 3 years. So, rather than sell the car for nothing - I've decided to invest some time in swapping parts in from a scrapped GLI w/24v VR6 (with ~130k km) that I picked up for $500. I figure that I'll never feel the pain of depreciation by just never selling the car!

I've already used the GLI to do some cosmetic upgrades (goodbye foggy head lights), replaced a rusted fender and a rock battered hood, a broken side view mirror - as well as do a full leather interior swap. The engine is destined for my Eurovan -- which has left me wondering what other parts I could use off the car before sending it to the wrecker.

So basically -- my 2.0 needs a wheel bearing and the stock suspension has been creaking and noisy for a long time. I see that the brakes and wheel bearing housings are different between 2.0 and VR6 -- but I'm thinking of swapping it all over at once and want to know if this is plausible. The brakes are definitely bigger (FN3 style) with nice factory painted calipers and just in better condition overall -- so I know I need the wheel bearing housing. So- is it possible to swap the entire strut out with the wheel bearing housing and all still attached? Seems this might be less work and faster than actually swapping out the just the wheel bearings.

Will the axles from the 2.0 still work?

Camry :: Weak Struts After Installing Lowering Springs

Few weeks ago, I got the Tein spring installed on my camry. Drop 1.5/1.6 front/rear.

Problem is now I sometimes hear this clunking sound from the rear. It doesn't happen very frequently, just every once in a while when i drive through a small&sudden bump.
Only from the rear, nothing from front of the car.

Another thing is that when i reverse & turn (ex. getting out of garage), it makes one or two cracking noise from the front, small clunking sound from the rear.

I'm suspecting the strut may be bad. The mechanic guy said that my rear struts are bad (when he was installing the springs).

Am I in need to get new struts ?

Camry :: 2003 - Low Front After Installing Gabriel Ready Struts

I just finished replacing front and rear struts on my 2003 Camry SE. I decided to use Gabriel Ready Struts because I needed Boots, and Mounts. My Car has 150,000 miles, I noticed some mild nose diving during hard braking, and I wanted to improve this.

The Ready Struts did improve the nose diving, but I think the car had a better ride with original struts with 150,000.

The Car is lower in the front with the new struts, and higher in the back. Its obvious when you look at the car. I have a regular parking place at work, and the first day I parked I scraped the curb. I have parked there every day since the car was new without problems.

I am considering returning the struts, and buying KYB and using my original struts. I was concerned about using my springs with 150,000.

Toyota - Camry - Struts :: Front Of Car A Little Wiggly / Brakes Locking Up

My husband noticed that our 2001 Camry was driving strange. He thought it was a problem with the brakes locking up. When I drove it, I felt like the front of the car was a little wiggly and thought we might need an alignment. When we took it in, they said that the brakes are okay, but that the front struts are "soft." They said that the front struts need to be replaced, which includes an alignment, and we should replace the rear struts at the same time. They said we should get new tires at the same time.

I've been trying to research it some, and we don't have a lot of the problems associated with bad struts. We haven't noticed any bouncing or anything like that. I think they are honest mechanics, but my husband doesn't trust them. We don't have enough money to get all that work done right now, so my question is, can we wait until we notice bouncing or the tires get worse to have the work done? (We would be trying to save up the money in the meantime.) Or, can we just take care of the front struts and wait on the tires and rear struts? Should we just get a second opinion? (The car does have 145,000 miles on it, and I've never had the struts replaced. I bought it with about 65,000 miles on it.)

Camry :: 2007 CE / 4cyl - Rubber Boots On Both Front And Rear Struts

I have 2007 Camry CE, 4 cyl, 102,500 miles. The rubber boots on both front and rear struts can be easily lifted with a screw driver to reveal the shiny shaft. Strut seems be pass the 'fast brake' test (no bounciness). There is oily residue on the strut body. Is that normal? If replacement is needed, should I go with Monroe or other brand. I want the original Camry ride.

Brake pads seem to have 3/16"-1/4" thickness left. All equipment is original.

Toyota - Camry :: 2005 - Power Steering Rack Leaking And Front Struts Cracked

We have a 2005 Camry XLE, with 102,00 miles on it. It has been very well cared for, and only serviced by our Dealer. We would like to keep the vehicle for another 50,000 miles. We have had an assessment of the vehicle done by the Dealer, because our brakes were very soft.

He found a great deal of air in the lines and flushed them out. He also found:

1.) Leaks in the power steering rack, which he graded as a level 8 severity on a 10 point scale. Repair estimate is $1100 to replace and align.

2.) Both front struts are cracked and graded for severity as an 8 on a scale of 10.

What do you think:

A.) Are these safety issues ?

B.) What are the consequences of delay ?

C.) Are these problems indicative of other likely problems ?

D.) Is it better to have a Dealer perform the repairs ?

Camry :: Replaced Both Front Struts And Creaking Sound Coming From Front End

Last night, I replaced both front struts with Monroe complete sets (new springs, mounts, boots, struts, etc) and I had my front rotors smoothed out. That cleared up about 75% of the noises coming from the front of my car Except for one.

Whenever I'm braking, there is a noise coming from my front left wheel. It's not a brake squeal, but more like a creaking sounds that comes around with each rotation of the wheel. It slows down with the car, and I can make it last longer by doing a slow roll with the brakes one. So when I'm fast it sounds like "Crk! Crk! Crk!" When I'm going slow it's "Creeeeeak... Creeeeeeak... Creeeeeak..."

Last night, I also replaced the sway bar link on that side. The brakes are smooth and the tires were balanced a couple months ago (no steering wobbles at any speed)

Prius (Gen 2) :: Any Other Part To Replace Along With Struts?

After reading up on things to do for maintenance, I've decided to replace my struts around the 95k mile mark.

While I'm down there, is there anything else I should replace/do while the wheels and struts are off?

I've read some people talk about replacing CV joints as a preventative measure, others about bushings but most seem content with just the struts.
