How to take it off so I can install LED white lights to make it bright. I already got the rear or middle light whatever you call it. I am afraid to put force on it to break any tab or the light cover it self so that is why I am asking.

Mine has some extremely sticky substance on it and i tried goof off soap and wirebrush but it won't go away.
I'm new to modding and I've been having a really hard time finding a forum that gives a good DIY instructions on how to wire the map lights to function as the dome lights so they (the map lights) turn on when the doors are opened.
Any parts required (relays or anything else of that sort)
In the process of selling my car and had my guy take my speakers out for the stock JBL ones but noticed after that my clock on the dash and dome lights aren't on at all. Is there a simple plug that cold have been missed?
View 1 RepliesWife's Tig had an issue with its rear doors. Dome lights would activate only with front doors. If you opened the rear doors only, no dome lights.
VW dealer says they found the issue, I disabled the DRLs via VCDS and now he states that disables the rear door dome lights. He even went so far to say that I had installed an "aftermarket" part in order to disable the DRLs.
Any example for disabled their DRLs and lost the rear door dome lights?
Wife's picking up the Tig now. I'm sure the DRLs are now working. I'll VAG it again to remove the DRLs and see if I lose the rear door dome lights.
I have a problem with my 2014 camry. Yesterday out of nowhere, my dome lights wouldnt shut off.. I checked all the doors, made sure they are all shut.. but no luck.

View 4 RepliesWhile trying to connect my dome light to my map lights I touched the power wire to the dome light to metal, which blew my fuse. After replacing the fuse none of these lights work, nor does the light around where I put my key in the ignition, a voltmeter test of the dome light power wire shows no power to the dome light. I've read that I may have fried my integration relay, but the dealer doesn't know what this is, and I've also read that it may be behind the fuse box.
View 3 RepliesI have done some vag com mods, and noticed that the front dome lights and one of rear lights in the roof, are dimming very low, is it some kind of convenience stuff or something is messed up?
Done all the coding through long coding so it should be fine, however I think it might be the case (of wrong voltage, I am using leds in interior lighting, or it is due to some comfort options....)
Just purchased this car. Dome lights will not turn on until key is in ignition and key is turned to on position. Is it some thing i can program myself?
View 2 RepliesI have a 2003 Camry V6 LE.
Yesterday the headlights did not turn off automatically when the car was locked up after being driven for about 30 minutes. Unfortunately, this was not detected until about 8 hours later.
The door locks would not function with the remote and the doors were manually unlocked.
When I got in the car and tried to start the car the dash and dome lights began blinking/flickering, the CD player ejected the CD, and the security light was blinking as it would if the doors were still locked.
The battery was too low to start the car so I jumped the car to start it and got home.
Battery showed 12.7 volts cold the next morning before the car was started. While running there was about 14.3 volts across the battery terminals which would seem to say the charging system is OK. Battery is just under 3 years old.
Doing some testing, I found that the headlights would turn on with the multifunction switch without the car running. In this case they would not turn off through locking the doors even after double clicking the lock button on the remote. The only way to turn them off in this case was through the multifunction switch.
Other testing shows that if the lights were turned on with the car running, they would turn off automatically within about 30 seconds or so when the car was shut off and the doors locked. In another similar test with the engine running and then shut down I also tried the double click lock using the remote and this also turned the lights off immediately.
Based on research on TN site, one recommendation for a similar, but not identical, problem was to replace the multifunction switch. No one suggests replacing the headlight relay or any of the 4 DRL relays.
I want to replace the front and rear dome lights with LED's. I removed the rear plastic cover but can not remove the bulb. The only thing I can grab is the glass bulb and pulled but it will not release. I see a very small black tab at the base of the bulb and tried pushing it in, to the left and right but won't budge.
View 9 RepliesI have a 2007 Ford F-150 SuperCrew Lariat (with Sunroof) that the Front Interior Dome Lights are not working in. I mention the Sunroof because there is a switch to operate the sunroof in the same panel as the front dome lights. The Sunroof switch works just fine though.
However, the back dome light does work. I would've thought these were on the same line but my thinking is probably wrong. So far I've pulled the front panel where the dome lights are located and checked the bulbs. The filaments are not broken at all and the bulbs seem to be good. I then went hunting for the Fuse box and looked through the user manual to see which fuse corresponds to those front lights. However, I've been unable to determine which fuse it is.
So I guess the questions I have are:
1.) Why the front dome lights would NOT be working and the rear dome lights are? Are these not on the same line?
2.) Which fuse corresponds to the front dome lights?
3.) What relay corresponds to the front dome lights?
4.) Do I need to disconnect the battery before messing with any of these fuses or relays?
Troubleshooting steps at this point?
I have a 95 4-door Explorer XLT. When either front door is opened, the front courtesy door lights and the front dome lights on the overhead console don't come on. (I have tested and/or replaced the bulbs.) However, the rear and cargo dome lights do come on. The LED display on the overhead console does correctly display temperature and direction. The lamp buttons on the overhead console, also, don't turn on the map lights. The interior dimmer switch will turn on just the rear and cargo dome lights. The fuse is good and the vanity lights in each sun visor work fine.
View 6 RepliesMy 2015 camry front dome light switch is broken. This is the push type light. I am not sure how but today i was trying to turn the light on and noticed it wasn't turning on. When i opened the lens cover to switch the bulb i noticed the button was missing and the other side has a button. I don't understand why the light will not turn on when i open the door either. I tried sticking some thing small in to the broken part where the button used to be and it turns on if i do that, but i would have to hold it in place which is pretty inconvenient. What can i do to fix this? it seems like i have to replace the whole overhead assembly. Is there a cheap fix? i would be happy if the light comes on when i at least open the door.

View 2 RepliesI have a 2012 SE v6 with 1600 miles on it. About a week ago, I noticed my bumper cover pulled away from the corner of the headlight and there was a noticeable gap. I pushed on it, and heard a click. The bumper stayed in place. After a couple days driving, it came loose again. I didnt touch it so the Service Writer would see it first hand. Of course, his first instinct was to puch on it, but I got loud quickly, so he kept his hands to himself, and heard me out. I knew if he clicked it back into place I would be SOL. He admitted something needed to be done, not just click it back.
When I picked it up, he said it was a known issue, and there is a TSB on it. He claimed they replaced a bracket. The invoice reads, "ADDED FELT TO TIGHTEN FIT". Yeah, Im sure that will hold just long enough for them to wash their hands of it.
Having front speaker cover rattle in new Camry? I have a 2012 SE 4 Cylinder. The rattle was driving me nuts for a while and I've located it in a loose left front speaker cover.
Not sure if I want to take it to the dealer or fix it myself. Thinking of maybe just jamming something that's small in there to tighten it or taking it off and having a look...
Need to know if the little icons on your interior 'dome' lights illuminate red when your instrument cluster lights are on? (Just like the power window and dash vent icons..) Audis do, but I've never seen a W8 Passat at night to be able to tell.
Looking for a pic of your interior roof lighting? (Not the center console one near the sunroof control...that of course lights up and shows icons.) I'm looking for the ones towards the rear of the car.
I have 2006 Mercery Mariner and the dome lights come on while im driving, they will stay on for about 10 mins or longer. sometimes they will come on when i hit a bump in the road. They also flicker on and off, even when i hit the brakes. took it to a shop and they replaced the hatch switch and they checked all the other door switches but stiil didn't find the problem.

If you open the door, no lights. If the key is in the ignition and you open the door it buzzes. If you have the light on, the light around the door locks and window controls stay on after you turn off the truck until you open the door. The dome light never comes on unless you use the switch on the light. What's up with the darkness! This truck is like a cave! No under dash lights, no door lights no dome light! As for those red lenses on the door, no wiring, no lights no nada! Do the lights com on when you open the door? Any light?
