Camry :: How To Modify Driver Seat To Sit Lower

Mar 13, 2012

I've already raised up the front of the seat with thick nylon washers, but the back needs to go down more now. I'm 6'3" with a horrid back and long legs, and there simply isn't enough thigh support. (down near the knees) I need the seat to be dipped low in the back and high in the front to be comfortable. Most cars allow for my preferred position in their normal range of adjustment, however the Camry does not. My head grazes the ceiling as it sits now.

How to get that bracket chopped down about an inch? Should I flatten it out, then drill a new hole?

I'm really open to anything, even unorthodox methods, as my comfort in this seat is more important to me than how the finished product looks to a rear passenger...as long as it's still a strong mounting point.

Corolla / Matrix 2009-13 :: Clicking Noise Coming From Lower Right Side Of Driver Seat

If your experiencing a clicking noise coming from the lower right side of your driver seat, more noticeable over rough roads with pressure applied to the backrest, read on. After much trial and error troubleshooting, here's what worked for me.

I removed the tension on a small clock like spring located on the driver seat back right side pivot point. Since having done so, no more annoying clicking sound and I haven't noticed any difference or adverse side-effect in seat operation /adjustment. I've got photos....

Camry 2012+ :: Modify LE To Have Steering Ratio Of SE?

I really liked the steering response of the SE (i.e. the wheels turn further for given turn of the steering wheel.) But we found the SEs ride/comfort, especially for the passenger seat to be a deal-breaker.So, is there a way to modify an LE to give it the steering ratio of the SE? (Im wondering whether the dealer could change an option setting in the computer, or maybe chip, board, or other part could be swapped for the SEs version.)

Camry :: Modify Turn-signal Flasher To Work With LED Bulbs

I want to install some LED turn signal bulbs and lights but the flasher will flash twice as quick because of the burnt-bulb detector.

I have taken the flasher apart and tried all the tricks on the book to isolate each pin on the IC and changed the timing resistor without avail. I do not want to put in load resistor on the bulb end to fool the detection circuit.

I want to modify/cut off the detection circuit?

Camry 2012+ :: Hard And Uncomfortable Driver Seat

I have the I4 SE Limited Edition in Blizzard Pearl. I bought the car in November 2012.

Now that I have been driving the car for about 3 months, the driver seat is taking a toll on my back.....

I have tried adjusting the seat repeatedly and constantly. Feels like every day. Seat feels hard as if I am sitting directly on the metal plates beneath the cushion. I have tried sitting in the passenger side to compare and I don't feel the same. Then again the passenger side does not have any adjustment controls or metal plates to tilt the seat cushion and it also feels as if it has a thicker cushion padding.

The cushion on my driver seat feels thin - I feel as if i am sitting right on the metal plates that tilt the seat. My wife thinks all of the seats are 'Too Hard'. I think that is more of a 'New' issue. But feeling like I am sitting on a metal plate.

I have an open complaint to the Toyota Care and they reached out my dealer. I will be bringing the car in to see what they say. I am guessing, they will say there is nothing wrong with the car. My next steps will be to look at other trims like the LE and the XLE to see what the driver seat feels like and maybe look to switch out the seat(s) somehow if there is no resolve.

Camry :: Gen 5 V6 - Red Airbag Light On / Loose Connector Under Driver Seat

I recently bought a used '06 Camry V6.

After driving it for several days, the red airbag light went on on the instrument panel. Certainly, I do not want to go to the dealer, not only because of costs, but also cause of the distance of the dealership from my home.

I did a bit of a research and so far have tried disconnecting the ground wire on the batter for half an hour, in order to reset the computer. Although, as soon as I plugged in the wire back and turned the car on, the light did not disappear.

After looking online, I found a similar problem and a solution regarding Toyota Sienna in this link: [URL] ....

-Following the advise, I remember that right before the light went on, I have tried to reach for the plastic water bottle that ended up deep under the driver's seat.

Is it possible that the airbag problem stems from the loose connector under the driver's seat? If yes, how should I approach this.

Also I recently had my intermediate steering shaft replaced [URL] .... Are there chances that such replacement caused the airbag to fail. This manual does not tell any steps to disconnect any yellow wires (or wires at all).

Camry 2012+ :: Driver Seat Collapsing / Grooves Towards Edges

Bought a brand new Camry about five months ago. The driver's seat is already showing signs of wear. There are considerable grooves forming towards the edges of the bottom part of the seat. There seems to be a gap in the cushioning now.

I can't believe the seat is already having problems. Is this normal? Are these seats just not designed for heavy people?BTW these are cloth seats not leather, it's the LE model.

Camry :: 05 Driver Power Seat - Left Side Doesn't Move Up

I have read other people having problems with their power seats. Mine is kind of weird, the right side moves, the left doesn't. So when I try to move forward, it moves forward and pivots to toward the left, since only the right side is moving forward on the rail. There is only one motor moving the seat forward and backward right? I am hoping it's just an obstruction on the left railing or something....unless there are two motors moving the seat forward. The lumbar motors are fine, I can move up and down, it's just the seat itself that can't slide forward and backward.

Camry :: 2011 Toyota Rattling From Driver And Passenger Seat Belt Columns

I purchased a 2011 Toyota Camry LE (2.5L I-4, Automatic) about a month ago (August 2010 in Houston, TX.) Right from the day one, I noticed numerous intolerable rattles. The most prominent ones are, a clicking noise from steering wheel, especially when turning in a parking lot with vehicle not in motion, and on and off rattling from driver and passenger seat belt columns in the B pillar. Mechanically the car is average (good engine, uncertain transmission) but interior fit and finish is plain disaster.

I took the car twice to the dealer. While they refused to notice any noise from the seat belt columns, they did acknowledge the ticking noise every time the steering wheel is turned on either side. Initially they tried to identify it as the turn signal correction mechanism noise, which turns the turn signal off automatically after making a turn. I insisted for the shop foreman to take a look at it. After further inspection they said it wasn't the turn signal correction mechanism but some "normal harmless rattling" from the steering column . Is there any other Camry owner with similar problems??

IS F (2008-2014) :: Driver Seat Squeak And Creaking Noise Not From Loose Seat Bolts

I have noticed new drivers seat squeak. It only happens with weight transfer side to side at lower speeds ( hard right and hard left below 30 mph, or entering a driveway). I have looked at several posts and it seems like people have had luck with simply tightening the bolts for the seat.

Well I did that and it still making the noise. I have isolated the noise to the lower part of the seat right behind the molding. Behind the molding and behind the seat control switches there is a white box for the switches. It seems like the noise is coming from there. I noticed that if I pop off the control switches and I loosen the screws for the control switches the noise gets a touch better.

I took it to the dealership and they told me they tried to add some oil between the leather and the molding but it did nothing since the source seems to be behind the molding.

What is the part # for this bottom for an 05' F250 supercab?

I swapped these seats into my OBS truck, but the driver's seat bottom has the typical wear/tear on it and its getting worse.

I have been searching for three days for a replacement bottom cover. I have found them for F150s and the pattern is close but not right. I cannot find them for F250s or F350s as I cannot find the proper part # for the gray DS cover.

This is the tan one: 4c3z-2562900-eaa

How can I pull this up?
