I just purchased a used 07 Camry. We love it but the headlights look very strange. There is a cloudy film on what seems to be the inside of each headlight, some areas are worse than others.
I would like to replace them (mostly for resale value later on) but wanted to post here before I drop a whole bunch of money on new headlamp mounts.
I just bought a 2014.5 Camry SE. I am really loving this car but I have a question. The black shiny climate control panel (manual climate control) seems a little cloudy. I was wondering if this has a protective film from the factory that needs to be peeled off. I cannot tell by looking at it, and don't want to mess with it until I know.
View 1 RepliesI have noticed that the headlights/protective lenses in my 98 Passat have gotten very cloudy. When i rub my fingers on them you can feel kind of a rough surface.
The performance has obviously diminished and I would like to try to buff them.
A friend told me that it is caused by the ultraviolet rays from the sun and indeed the car has spent a lot of time outdoors. Any good plastic cleaners to do the job without having to replace the headlight assembly??
My head light lens the plastic is starting to get a yellowish colors to them it is not clear anymore.
View 8 RepliesWhen I first got my car I had an issue trying to keep the film off of the inside of the windshield. Even with Windex it would leave streaks. I found out that old newspaper worked best.
A couple of weekends ago I noticed that the dash part closest to the windshield looked like it was beginning to discolor ever so slightly. I grabbed a bottle of the Armor All interior spray, wet a rag and applied a thin film to this part of the dash and then the rest of the dash.
After the first day of sitting in the hot sun in an asphalt parking lot at work I again have a film on the windshield.
I just bought a used car with tinting film on the rear windshield that has gone bad. Is it possible to remove the film without destroying the defroster and antenna wires on the glass? If one damages the wires, is there any way to fix them?

View 11 RepliesI have a 2002 that I recently "bumped" into a wall, requiring replacement of the drivers side headlight assembly (along with a little body work). The body shop said they would buff the passenger side lens to make it look just like the new one, but when I picked up the car the headlights looked like day and night. The foreman told me that they buffed the lens as best as they could, but the discoloration was on the inside and that there was no way to take the lens off the assembly. Is this true, or just trying to sell me another headlight assembly?

View 8 RepliesBoth of the headlights on my 2007 Accent 3-door have blistering of the chrome plastic inside the headlight. This started a year or so ago, I asked about it at the dealership, but I never got a call. At the time my life was pretty hectic and the dealership is about a 45 minute drive from my house. I asked about it at least one other time when I was there for service, someone was going to check on it, and again I heard nothing more.

View 5 RepliesThere's 2 small drips of dried water (and maybe soap) inside the upper half of my headlight on the glass. I first noticed this after I washed my car very thoroughly this weekend (I was spraying water on it for a long time). I suspect water/soap might have seeped through during the wash.
I know this is not supposed to happen, but is it a legitimate cause of concern? I'm thinking of letting this fly by, I can live with it, but perhaps not if it keeps happening every time I wash my car. Is it safe to wait on a trip to the dealership, or should I get it checked out right away?
BTW, I'm @ 30k miles
I just bought a new 2010 Prius IV and noticed after a good rain that the front left headlight assembly was showing some moisture fogging inside the lens. None of the other light assemblies showed any moisture.
View 6 RepliesAbout a year ago our headlights were getting dim . Our dealer referred us to a company that had a process to polish the lights and restore their brightness. Now after a year or so the lights are again cloudy and need attention. I purchased a kit but haven't tried it yet because of winter in Wisconsin.
I've also read that toothpaste can be used to clean and polish the lens on headlights.
I just bought a 2010 Prius V and noticed the energy display is blurry and cloudy. I've read some other thread with others experiencing this issue but didn't find a solution to the problem. It seem to be blurry on the inside part of the display, nothing that can be cleaned off from the outside.
View 2 RepliesMy 2010 Prius Hybrid System Indicator suddenly becoming cloudy one day. Its inside the glass cover and I initially thought it was condensation, but it hasn't gone for several weeks.
I have the Toyota Extra Care Platinum extended warranty, so took my car to a Toyota dealer. They said it was due to some chemical reaction from something I used.
I found that ridiculous because I don't use any chemicals on my car, let alone myself but they didn't budge. I have to call Toyota & see what they have to say.
This last week, I bought a Prius C 4, love everything about it but... the front windshield reflection. The reflection of the dashboard during daytime makes the view somewhat cloudy, at night the reflection at night appears to be like a shroud over most of the windshield. So much so that the peripheral vision is almost nil. I think this can be dangerous as demonstrated by almost hitting 2 deer on my first drive home! I've ordered a dashmat cover and await its delivery. Hopefully this will alleviate the problem, if not my dealer will be getting the car back until this problem is resolved. Dimming the dashboard light has no effect.
