I was told the speed sensor for my 2007 Camry LE was dirty. My ABS light goes off every now and then and also my check engine light as well. It's starting to not have power going up hills and the acceleration is a little funny (speed will decrease randomly then shoot back up after a bit of time). I read there is more than one speed sensor, which one should I be replacing? Will cleaning it fix it?
View 1 RepliesMy wife started her 2010 Camry (4 cylinder) this morning and the Oil Pressure, Check Engine, and Check Battery lights were all on.
She turned the car off, waited and started it back on and the same thing.
I rushed our kid to day care and her to work before coming to work myself, I haven't had a chance to check anything.
I replaced the air filter and cabin air filter over the weekend and the oil was changed at the dealer 2 weeks ago.
I have a 2007 Toyota Camry LS that says check vsc system. The check engine light, vsc and trac lights are all three are on. That is a concern but another big concern is that is sometimes runs sluggish and acts likes it wants to stall. ?
View 7 RepliesI had the 2010 Camry I-4 in the dealer last week for the 40K service. They told me I needed fuel injector cleaning and a throttle body housing cleaning which I had done. This afternoon the check engine light came on and at the same time the Slip Indicator light came on.
I ran by Auto-Zone to have them pull the code for the check engine light and it was P0101 which AZ says is Mass or Volume Airflow circuit range and listed probable causes as:Open or short circuit condition, MAF/VAF sensor failure, or Faulty ECM. I called the dealer for an appointment Thursday morning and told him the story and asked if the throttle body or injector cleaning could cause the mass air flow problem. He said "probably not". He also told me that when the Check Engine light comes on the Slip indicator light automatically comes on to show that the VSC is not working while the check engine light is on.
My question is, could the cleaning cause the P0101 and if so what info do I need to argue the case with the dealer? Or, are they unrelated systems?
Smokes comes out of hood, check engine light is on, ABS light is on, the rpm needle jumps When I stop it jumps to #2, when it does that also the car shakes like vibrating.....
View 7 RepliesThis morning, I found out that my Camry 2012's backup light did not turn on. When I changed the tranmission shift, there no any letters like D, P, or R appear on the meter panel. Moreover, on the panel, the check engine and slip indicator icon lights turned on. How to fix this problem. I already installed the aftermarket backup camera, and it doesn't work also

Told me it was bank 1 position 1 oxygen sensor.....$455 to replace. I want to do it myself but am having trouble finding the part. Where exactly the location on vehicle this is? Will I run into trouble getting at this? Its a 2.5 L.
View 1 RepliesI recently bought a 2007 toyota Camry le v6 with less than 38,000 miles it currently has 39,300 miles and my check engine light is on along with the VSC and a skid control light (car with squiggle lines behind it) we have a had lots of rain here where I live and I had to drive through a couple deep water puddles. I looked up online and it said The engine light may turn on if the VSC and skid control lights are on. Could this be that the sensors maybe got wet? I don't think anything should be wrong with this car considering it's a toyota with less than 40k miles
View 14 RepliesIt all started after I refueled at Mobil after a rainstorm a month ago. Could be coincidence, but right after that the car started jerking wildly and making a howling wind noise from the front. Thought it was the transmission. Brought to Lexus dealership, they told me nothing was wrong as I had low mileage on the car. There are NO Check Engine lights on the dashboard. Car "quieted down" after that, but the noise remains EXCEPT at high speed when it's quiet.
In addition to that, the jerking / misfiring continues at stops, reversing, and slower speeds on occasion only.
I tried Techron FI cleaner, but it has not made a difference. Filled up several times since then.
What's wrong?
I have some check engine lights. And there is one light on my monitor screen in the top left. That one is a hybrid system warning light I think. I'm sure I need to connect it to something to read the codes.
It is running fine, but the engine doesn't seem to shut off and mpg in city is kind a like a normal car, and I think the battery drains too fast. No matter how slow I take off it won't use the electric motor alone. I wonder if that is the battery causing engine to have to stay on.
It keeps cycling off and on charging the battery, but engine never shuts off.
I replaced my seven year old original battery on my 2008 Camry V6 SE. The car started ok, but the check engine came on and showed the P300 misc engine misfire. The car ran fine. The original battery failed the load test at the local auto parts store. I replaced the battery and the check engine light went out. I have noticed better engine performance and better transmission shifting too.
View 3 RepliesMy volvo is running fine but the ETS Light, OIL light and Check Engine LIght are constantly coming on and off intermittently. In March of 2011 the independent volvo specialist cleaned the throttle body and a cracking turbo hose. In September 2011 the dealership recommended to replace the dipstick tube and to reseal angle gear. In October 2011 the dealership tech notes possible internal failure to the transmission shift solenois, oil pump seals and an internal failure to the electronic throttle module. Recently I had the oil and filter changed and the check engine light reset but days later the lights all are back on. I am unable to smog the car until these light issues are resolved.
View 1 RepliesI have an 05 silverado 1500 crew cab z71 and i have a little bit of an issue with my Check Engine Light being on. The problem is when I tried to pull the code from the computer it wouldn't even read that it was plugged in at all. I talked to a buddy of mine and he said that could possibly be the reason its on.
What I am trying to figure out is what i have to do to remedy the situation so that i can actually be able to pull codes in the future. My truck inspection is out and need this light fixed.
Also every once in a while my battery light comes on and it says i need to service my charging system also because I have never seen it before.
My gas cap warning light came on this morning, I thought I would fill the car in case the cap is loose. After the car was refulled to the max, the car just started, spluttered for a few seconds as if it was going to stall, then after a quick rev it ran fine to the office. The gas cap light went out, but just before I got to work the check engine light has come on.
Is this a sensor breaking down or something serious?? I only have 16k miles

The Check Engine light came on days ago. I have tried to re-close the gas cap, it's not it. This morning, I am on my way to bring my daughter to school and maybe 500 feet out of my driveway onto the main road, my car loose it's acceleration power. I pulled over and noticed the ESC light was on. I turned off the engine. Turned it back on. Both lights still on. Rinse...repeat with turning it off and turning it on....this time it worked, ESC light was now off but the Check Engine light was still on. I proceeded back onto the road with no more acceleration problems.
Vsc and check engine lights are on. Took it to the dealer. He indicated that there is corrosion in electrical harness underneath car and suggested to replace the harness !! It is a 2004 with over 100 k miles ...
View 5 RepliesOne day my VSC, Traction and check engine lights came on. Nothing seems wrong with the car. Took it to a mechanic, they said many things popped up on their computer (emissions, etc, including replacing computer). The car has 48k on it, the warranty ran out at 39k.

I don't know why given the cats are still there? Have I upset the lambda sensors somehow? How to clear it? Can the fault codes be cleared a certain way?
2014 es350 with a bit over 5000 miles, today suddenly my malfunction indicator lamp and TRAC OFF lights both came on at once... What the causes may be since I can't get to the dealer until Monday. And is it still safe to drive the car???
View 11 RepliesI am driving a 2007 Avalon XLS with about 71,000 miles. These lights came on together yesterday. After consulting this forum, I checked the gas cap and found it was indeed loose (or at least had not been engaged with any of the "required" three clicks.) I closed the gas cap tightly and restarted the car. The lights promptly came back on.
I drove to AutoZone where someone pulled the codes: P0306 and P0356. They gave me a printout suggesting the number 6 cylinder was misfiring (P0306) and an ignition coil circuit fault (P0356).
Our '09 generally gets short trips, though last weekend it had a long one. Last night it was fine my wife drove home from work, but when we tried to head out for the evening the check engine, VSC, ABS and brake lights all came on. Nothing funky on the MFD.
I ran the battery check procedure and the low value was 12.0 volts. The instructions here say it should be above 12, replace if below. Here we are on the edge?
My wife drove it to the dealer and complained that the brakes felt like they weren't working properly. Sounds like she had only hydraulic braking, no regen.
