I have a 2007 camry se v6 and I am having a couple problems.
first problem is when i accelerate and hit about 40mph the car kinda stalls when shifting gears, it feels like a .5 second lag. like its trying to catch the next gear.
second problem, my tire pressure sensor is blinking, i've been told it is because one of my sensors is not working, but i don't know how to diagnose which one it is.
I am driving down the road and the TPMS light starts to blink - and then stays on. I looked in the manual and it says that "When the light comes on after blinking for 1 minute: Malfunction in the tire pressure warning system." The resolution is to "Have the system checked by your Toyota dealer."
All my pressures, including the spare are how I have them set. I also made sure to re-set the TPMS button under the steering wheel to the new pressures and everything. I'll let you know what I find out. I'm kinda mad a sensor has failed though on a car that's less than one year old.
2009 Ford Explorer, 6cyl, 4L, 33K miles. When its started up, the message "Tire Sensor Fault" appears along with the low tire icon flashing (steady light after ~30 seconds). I can then press the reset button on my dash to clear the message. However, the tire light icon stays lit. I've checked and re-checked the tire pressure in all the tires (spare included) and I'm right at the recommended 32-34 psi on all the tires. No signs of leaks at all. I'm assuming one (or more) of the tire pressure sensors have gone bad and there's no way for a garage (or myself) to identify which one or repair this. Should I assume a trip to the dreaded dealer for this problem ???
View 10 RepliesMy grand am has a gnarly idle issue. It stalls to turn on and once on it has a very rough idle. When I put the car into drive it stales then just turns off. Drained the heck out of my battery so I was thinking it was an alternator issue but I did a quick test and my alternator seems to be working fine. I did manage to drive my car but once in motion, gears wouldn't shift which has me leading to thinking it can be a transmission issue.

I have 2011 Prius Pck II. Racked up about 22k miles now is socal. Replaced one tire due to flat. From week 3, Ive had blinking tire pressure warning.. then it stays lit then goes away.
Dealer said they will reset and say the sensors are just sensitive. Well.. 22k miles of annoying problems continues to blink then stays lit, then goes away.
I think it is defected.. they don't want to admit it and replace for me.

View 14 RepliesI've had my prius since April and the tire pressure light keeps coming on. It's been in to the dealer 5 times now and they have yet to find out what's causing it. It doesn't come on when I'm driving in town but only when I'm going out of town on a trip. I make almost monthly trips that are approximately 180 miles one way. I don't go over any mountain chains or have any large increase/decrease in temperature. I've been documenting when it comes on and it seems to be about 1 1/2 hrs into our trip but it has come on earlier also. Basically, the light will come on, start blinking for several seconds and then stay on until the car is stopped. Then it'll turn off. However, I've also had it only stay on for a few minutes before it turned off. It's never on when I take it in to be looked at.
View 7 RepliesI bought a 2005 RX330 a couple months ago. It now has 48,500 miles. The following happened 3 times while driving:
The ABS, Brake, and VSC lights come on solid and the Low Tire Pressure light blinks. Things go back to normal after I turn the engine off and start it again.
Dealer wants to see it first before they do anything about it. Problem is that every time it happened the dealer was closed. I live about an hour away and I’m not even sure I want to drive for one hour while these lights are on.
Reading some postings it seems like this was a known issue with the 2004 models (brake light switch). Same problem with a 2005 model?
2008 Prius touring, tire pressure warning light stays on after blinking for 1 minute. This started after changing the wheels for summer (rims and tires). Tried the reset button, no change.
View 2 RepliesI bought a used certified 2012 Toyota Camry LE with 6000 miles on it directly from the main and larger Toyota dealer two weeks ago, I chose to get original tires inflated with nitrogen which is a service provided by dealer.
Right now I'm realizing that the display screen is not showing me the tires at all, just the trip and gas consumption stats.
Before taking the car to dealer and get in line is there a way system may be reset so tires and of course pressure data are properly displayed?
Yesterday, my wife took my car to LA and the CEL came on and stayed on (it's not blinking). It doesn't seem like anything is really wrong with the car other than the light being on. My wife says it seems to be running fine since the CEL came on.
Then this morning, my wife turned on the car and the check tire light came on, but then went off. Last week, I had my new rims (19x.8.5) and tires (235/35-19) installed, so I guess that could have something to do with it. My wife checked the tires and there's nothing wrong with them.
I want to figure out what the heck is going on with my R (sucks that all this started happening the one time my wife took the car out of town....Murphy's law I guess). I have an APR stage 1 tune, and want to avoid potential issues with a punk dealership in LA. Consequently, I'd like to try to figure out what is going on with my VAG-COM before I take it to the dealer.
Here are my questions:
1. Could my new rims and tires have caused the CEL to come on and stay on? Seems unlikely, but since the check tire light started acting up, I though they might be related.
2. Is there a way to scan my car with VAC-COM to figure out what is causing the CEL?
So I put the summer rims on the wife's B6 Wagon. Besides breaking out my VAGCOM and turning off this option. The error/warning light is getting annoying

I've got a 2007 Prius and the tire pressure sensor light came on long ago and won't reset. My tires are properly inflated. Rather than to keep speculating I figured I could use the Mini VCI to see if any codes or information come up.

View 7 RepliesI took my Prius to get one of the air pressure sensors replaced on a front tire. When they returned it to me they told me that the ABS and the VSC lights were on and did I know that. I told them that was not on before. Anyway they told me they could not fix it an I needed to take it to the dealer to get it re-calibrated which i did.. How can I prove that this happened when the tire was being worked on, or can I?
View 4 RepliesEver since it started getting cold here in the Northeast (mid December ish) my tire pressure sensor light is on. I know that it may be necessary to add air during cold weather as the air in the tire can contract in the cold but the pressure is fine - I had my mechanic check it out. Light does go out when it warms up - at least above freezing - but comes back on again when it gets cold. Normally I spend most of the winter in Florida but am usually here (in MA) until mid Jan. and this has never happened in previous years.
View 2 RepliesWe have a 2007 Passat. The tire pressure sensor broke off at the valve stem. In checking with the dealer, I was told the tire pressure sensor and valve stem are all one unit. My question is if you can use a regular valve stem and attach the sensor to it, or do you have to get the entire unit with the valve stem and sensor together.
