What is the location of the amp for the JBL head unit? Is it directly behind the unit in the dash or someplace else? Someone said it's underneath the passenger seat, but I don't see anything there.

View 8 Repliesmy 07 Camry has about 80k miles on her. I got fed up with the boring stock head unit and decided to get a new 8" headunit that would match the interior touch screen and all. Anyways I'm a fan of my AC as I normally use it. I took it to the audio shop to get my new headunit installed. I drive a couple hours enjoying it and decide to put on the ac. My problem is The air conditioning is only coming out of the passenger side now very cold and stale warm air is coming from the driver side vents. I can't figure it out. I got upset and went back to the shop to see if maybe they did something wrong and didn't hook something up correctly.
So they did everything they could and showed me that it wasn't any of there doing and that it's extremely "coincidental" that this happened immediately after they installed it. Anyways I'm also noticing that the light pointer above the dial on all 3 dials on the AC unit are not lighting up. And the light I am talking about is the pointer light that points and which measure of heat/cool comes out. The middle buttons still work and are lighting up as well as the off/on ac portions night back lights are working properly.
Also I have only the standard AC unit. Not dual climate. All my vents are set correctly as I never really mess with them. is there a possibility they could have damaged the Blend Door actuator. And know where the blend door actuator is located on a camry?
How to remove the console center right under the radio head unit. I could not find any screws. But it did not pop out if I pull it.
View 2 RepliesI have an 02 f150 xl, I'm taking the stock head unit out and replacing it with a Pioneer 1900. I didn't buy a connector I'm just splicing the wires together, I know I shouldn't do it that way but it's to late now, what my problem is, there are three ground wires coming from the truck and the new head unit only has one ground, I just looked wiring diagrams up for both head units and that got pretty much everything done, just there are two speaker ground wires that are black and green, and then a regular black ground wire, I'm not sure if I should connect them all together or cap them separately, because I connected everything up and the head unit wouldn't turn on...
View 2 RepliesI just installed a new Pioneer head unit in my 2002 Excursion. Everything works great except it doesn't work on accessory power. I used a harness to harness hook up but I basically just connected like colored wires. When done I had three extra wires coming from the truck harness, black with a white line, and two orange wires... one may have had a black stripe. All others were connected. Do I have to get power off of a wire from the ignition switch or did I not connect one I should have?

View 1 Replies2002 F250 diesel ... I found these two plastic pieces yesterday on the floor near the 4X4 shifter. I noticed the other day when i step on the brake the rear view camera in the head unit comes on, so i am thinking they are either a part of the brake switch on the pedal assembly, or something to do with the shift tube.
View 2 RepliesYesterday everything worked. This morning nothing. Screen seems to be functioning but no sound comes through the speakers. No sound from radio, CD, nav, blue tooth, nothing. Mute is not on, checked that. When I got to work, I shut the car off, took out the key and re-started hoping it would reboot or something but no.
View 3 RepliesI am working on a friend's 2002 Camry 4-cylinder on which I recently replaced a leaking head gasket. Since that was competed the car runs fine but it has been throwing the P1346 code indicating VVT/Cam position sensor performance problem. I have a code reader and I have cleared the code a couple times and it re-appears each time after driving the car a while.
I also have a 2005 Camry with same engine, so I switched the cam position sensors between the two cars and the code showed up again on the 2002 while the 2005 still is running OK, so apparently the sensor is not the problem. The 2002 had been worked on before (some head bolt holes were stripped and I had to install inserts for all the head bolts - I used NS300L inserts) and whoever did the previous work was very rough with moving around the wire harnesses, etc, so I suspect it is a bad connection causing the error code.
My question is: can the car be driven in this condition OK, or is there a potential to damage something if the VVT is not operating? I checked the basic valve/crank timing and it is OK, and the engine feels/sounds like it is running very well. Should I be worried about this, or can I wait for a convenient time to try to find the source of the problem?
So yesterday i was installing my new JVC Headunit, after taking ages to take of the dash so i can remove the old radio i plugged in the new one and all the lights and everything worked... Then later after putting the dash back and plugging in the head unit the lights came on for 1 second and then it wwent off. The clock isn't working now, when i plug in the headunit you can hear it starting up but there is no light or anything coming on, and also the side mirror controls don't work... I'm thinking possibly one of the fuses may have blown but i don't have a clue where the fuseboxes are, how to get to them and which one i should be looking at.

View 6 RepliesSo I got some burned cds stuck in the unit just like everyone said would happen. the unit was full with 6 disks at the time. i removed the unit, removed the cds from the unit, and reinstalled it. once reinstalled i disconnected the battery for 20 minutes to clear any memory and when i tried to use the changer once more the error code 3 returned and the unit still reads full. I am guessing I was supposed to manually move the trays back to the empty position prior to reassembly because I dont hear them attempting to move at all. Even after I cleared the memory the car never read the disc trays as empty so that's my best guess.
View 14 RepliesMy 2007 is throwing a CEL code for the radio head unit. The code indicates the CD player is having problems ejecting the CD (there is no CD in the player)
The issue is not affecting the car or engine or MPG. The issue is that I cannot renew my registration without an inspection. I will not pass the inspection with a CEL light on
I have reset the code by disconnecting the battery.
Is there any way to kill the radio or the code.
My JBL head unit keeps dying. My 2011 Prius Three, not III, is currently on its 3rd head unit, and this one is dying also. About once per year, the head unit starts displaying gibberish on the LCD, often with horizontal lines marching upwards. As the problem persists, the display gets worse. Finally, the buttons start malfunctioning. Pressing the power button might eject a CD, pushing a radio preset button might switch to CD, etc.

Specifically iPod integration, Bluetooth hands-free and Sat radio. Is there any way to swap out my stock Mark Levinson head unit with one that would do the above?
So I am pretty sure my factory head unit will stream Via Bluetooth from my iPhone or my android, it's pairing with the car for the phone feature.
However it won't let me stream music, there is an Icon on the stereo but it doesn't do anything.
I'm installing a double DIN head unit in my 2004 Santa Fe. It's a base model. I took out the old unit and noticed this silver metal bar. This plate takes up too much room and I can't install the new unit.
