i had a scratch on the front door of my 2009 Camry Le, the door was removed and repaired.After that repairs the airbag indicator light has remain on it does not go off. How to turn it off or reset it.
View 1 RepliesLast year an 8pt buck ran in to my driver door and bounced off the fender of my '05 Camry LE. I was able to get it into the shop Jan. 17th and got the car back Jan. 29th (driver door shell was replaced and fender repaired).
Since then my car has been making inconsistent "errr . . . errr" sounds on the highway going 65-70mph from the area where the driver door and fender meet near the base. Best described as metal rubbing metal. From what I can tell:
1) the sound produces the most on long highway curves to the right going 65-70mph
2) the sound produces the most on warmer days (40 degrees was the warmest we've had here in MN) and on days like today where the weather is 8 degrees I can hear it once in a while but very inconsistently.
3)The exterior looks fine from what I can tell.
4) suspensions and engine are all fine
I have taken it back to the shop and they seem very doubtful the noise is due to their repairs but I am positive that this noise did not exist until after it left their shop. One of the reps even sat in the car and heard the noise while we drove on the highway. They initially blamed the car noise on lug nuts that were placed on backwards which I knew was an excuse to get me out of their shop. Sure enough as soon as I took it out on the highway the noise was still there.
I had the airbag recall work done recently. Last week, the passenger airbag status light stayed on, even with the engine turned off, and the key removed. The word, "Passenger" is constantly illuminated. The dealer that did the recall work told me to go home, and read my manual. A week later, a Toyota dealership told me that this is normal. I can't believe him, the word Passenger should not be lit when the car is off, and the key removed. When the passenger seat is occupied, Airbag On, or OFF works fine. It is just the word PASSENGER that is constantly lit.
View 7 Replies2006 durango 4.7 awd checked all recalls, none outstanding. The door ajar light remains on which means the interior light does while driving (along with the warning alarm beeps) and after leaving the vehicle also.
Been around all the doors to make sure they are shut, but cannot turn it off. Where would the switches be located on the doors or is there some other thing I should be looking for.
I have been noticing this problem more frequently. It's been about 2 months that I noticed the car is doing this.
I would typically touch the door handle to lock the car, (hear the beep) and sometimes I use the remote at a distance to make sure I did not forget to lock it. But after I return to the car, I usually go to the trunk, to put away my briefcase, (without pressing any button). After closing the trunk, and going to the driver side passenger door(its unlocked) (no beeping sound or anything)
I have made sure several times (clicking the button several times) that I indeed locked the car. but it's unlocked. I have tested the auto lock feature on my car (locking, then unlocking without opening doors, yes it automatically locks the doors after 60 seconds).
Lately, I've noticed what appears to be water coming from underneath my engine. It is located at the rear-centre of the engine, near the firewall, and quite enough leaks that I can see the puddle draining near to the sidewalk where I park. I have not been using the AC (that is, the green light is not on) but the air is still cool so perhaps the AC is still working though. It appears to be water, has no odour, nor does it appear to have any colour - so I am sure it is water. Could it be the water pump? Or just part of the AC condenser? More accurately, does the AC still work (even minutely) even though the green "AC" light remains unlit?
View 2 RepliesI have a 2007 Toyota Camry LE, and the seat belt light keeps on flashing and the airbag light is solid. We have tried literally everything possible, tried replacing the seat, replaced the seats sensors, tried a airbag module out of another 07 camry with exact same part #. Toyota have diagnosed that all the systems for airbag is fine, except it has something to do with the seat belt of the drivers side/or module but all that's been checked and still no luck. My car is due for Safety inspecting coming month and need this to fixed. How to handle this. Btw light came on because we had a blown fuse for the drivers power seat, and my mechanic thought that it was the motor so we replaced the seat and noticed that it wasn't the motor. Was just the fuse and we put back the original seat and everything is functional except the lights came on. No accidents on it to the extent i know. and the wiring is all plugged back properly without anything like wiring damage.
View 9 RepliesI just did TSB036-07 on my 07 I4 for the sluggish problem. It turns out very good. Now I got another problem right after that fix, the "Passenger Airbag Off" light is always on even with an adult (over 150 lb) sitting there. I suspect they touched some wires during the TSB service. I will certainly take it back to the dealer and report it back to you. Searching the forum, I saw one reported that the ECU has to be replaced to fix it.

View 4 RepliesHave started seeing an issue on my 2012 about few months already and the dealer could not even diagnose it because it is intermittent.
Sometimes when I arm the alarm, I can hear the actuators/solenoids cycle, but there is no single beep and the driver's door invariably remains unlocked. Repeated press of the arm button on the fob would not change, i.e. vehicle remains unarmed and driver's door remains unlocked. All the other doors are unaffected.
I can cycle through by pressing unlock once or twice, then the next relocking press would work. This is worrisome if I didn't pay attention to the beep and thought the vehicle is locked while in fact it was not, this could also happen when the vehicle is at the dealership as the porter would think pressing the button would have locked the vehicle.
My son drives a pristine 2004 Camry XLE. The airbag light came on recently. I have a basic scanner, and I just scanned it. There were no DTCs, and I could not reset the light.
I checked to see if there happened to be something unplugged under the passenger seat, but couldn't find anything.
The Passenger Airbag Off light is always on no matter if the passenger seat is empty or has someone sitting in it. It magically went away for a year and worked perfectly and now it came back to haunt me. I tried pulling all connections to the seat and cleaning them with an electrical cleaner, but the light is still on. What else can cause Airbag Off light to turn on?
View 1 RepliesMy 09 Camry was involved in a frontside impact crash about 2 years ago, I've had the car fixed since then by a body shop. However, my airbag light has been on for several months and will not go off. I've even had someone at a local garage try to turn it off, but it did not work.
Today a friend of mine used a clip to read the airbag code, and we got the code 31. I'm not sure what this means though.
For a long time the red airbag dash light has been on. It's a 2004 Toyota Camry V6 XLE. I've tried taking the battery lead off but that would be to easy to work. I'm not sure what caused it, I do all my own work on this car but I don't really mess with the airbags so I'm not sure how to diagnose this. What would cause this light to come on? I'm a kind of concerned that the airbags won't deploy in an accident and also not sure if it will pass the annual NYS inspection that I need ASAP. I really do not want to go to the dealer is there anyway I can troubleshot this myself?

Odd thing seems to display just after passenger seat has been moved/adjusted or something medium weight placed on it.
Will reposition seat and check belt tensioner but, stays on for awhile.
A couple of weeks ago our 2007 Odyssey started having door issues - driver's side sliding door would get about 85% closed (approx 6 inches from closed) then beep and reverse back open. Wife took it to the dealership and they said the rollers were dead and it would be $400 to repair them. Suggested we wait till it got bad. A week later on the cape, it got bad -- doors were getting really stuck, even in manual.
I replaced the roller assy on the door (the rollers were GONE!) and it now operates manually just fine now. I'm left with the following issues:- Door still won't close during automatic operation. Gets 80% closed then beeps and reverses closed.- Door doesn't open automatically during operation from the key FOB or the driver's control panel on the console. (I hear an actuator running when I press the buttons, just no obvious release). The door auto-opens fine from all other modes (inside lever, outside handle).
I've tried multiple "door reset" routines to no avail -- not sure if I have the correct "routine" for my '07 EX, or if something else is in play.
when I am using the AC or heat and when I turn it off it doesn't want to turn literally turn off. A little ac or heat still comes so what can I do or should I take it to a mechanic?

View 1 RepliesQuick question about the air bag light function for the passenger seat. When no one is sitting in the seat it does not display "on" or "off" by the clock. When I sit in the seat it displays "on" Shouldn't the light always display "off" if no one or someone too light is sitting in the seat? Is this normal, or is there something wrong with the sensors in the seat?

So the Airbag warning light in my Camry has been coming on (and staying on) intermittently, but would turn off if I turned off the car and restarted it. May take a cycle or two, but it would turn off.
Took it to the dealer, they isolated to the passenger side seat. They cleaned contacts, reseated connectors etc.. and the light stayed off for a while. By the way, there appears to be no relationship to anyone sitting in the passenger seat, or not, at the time.
Happened again maybe 3 weeks later. Same thing was done at the dealer.
Took it in today with light on, they pulled the code B1826 (Description: OPEN IN SIDE SQUIB (P SEAT SIDE) CIRCUIT)
This is my wifes car (and kids) so no airbags isn't an option. According to the documentation I got from the tech at the dealer, the Detecting Condition is:
The airbag sensor assy center receives an open circuit signal in the side squib (P seat side) circuit for 2 seconds.
Side squib (P side seat) malfunction
Airbag sensor assy center malfunction
The "Trouble Area" information:
Front RH seat assy (Side squib (P seat side))
Airbag sensor assy center
Floor wire No. 2
When I get near the driver's door on my 2008 Prius in attempt to unlock the door, nothing happens. However, when I get near the passenger door or the rear hatch, they will both open but the car chirps 5 times. The driver's door remains locked. It's not the battery in the key FOB, because if it was, no doors would open unless I remove the key from the FOB and physically open the door the "traditional" way.
