Camry :: 5th Gen 2004 LE And ES300 Part Compatibility?
Aug 27, 2013
I own a 2004 LE with the I4. How to convert our dull camry automatic shifter to the cooler es300 gated shifter? I know it takes some re wiring, and the shift linkage might be differant because of the I4 to v6 difference. I have a couple es300 at my local junk yard with gated shifters. I think in other markets outside the U.S. you could get the ES in a four cylinder with the gates shifter.

I have a second generation ipod and it will play when plugged in the car but nothing comes up on the screen. What type of interface comes up on the nav screen when a compatible 3rd, 4th, or 5th generation ipod is used. Also, am I correct that all new ipods are 6th generation and they're not compatible.

I am looking at purchasing a Mini VCI, and am a little unclear as to what the requirements are.
I have a netbook running Windows 7 Starter version, 32-bit. I also have a work laptop with Windows 7 Professional, 64-bit. Will either of these be compatible with the current version of Mini VCI? Are there different brands and versions of Mini VCI around- if so what is recommended?

Since my Prius must be possessed I need to collect data for dealer to resolve the issue. But the reputable OBDII Bluetooth adapters I have reviewed say they are not compatible with hybrid vehicles.

I just bought a 2012 Camry SE. Came with one master key. Bought a replacement online and I am about to have it cut/programmed. I called an auto locksmith and the guy indicates he can program the key to start the car but not the remote part of the key. How do I program this part?

My recently installed Monroe Quick Struts are not dropping to the stock height, I thought I'd retrofit OEM springs.
I find that it's not easy to figure out what is the correct part. Various sites show differences in Japan vs US build, some show different parts for left and right and there's no particular consistency.
So, what are exact part numbers? This is a US built 2005 LE AT. The build date is 04/05.

I have a 2007 camry xle and I just noticed that part of the shifter panel, you know where it says P, R, D, etc, gets hot warm to the touch whenever I turn on my headlights instrument lights. Its the back left corner of the shifter panel where the wood trim and the brush aluminum cover meets. I don't drive to much at night so I didn't notice this before.
After about 20 minutes of having the lights on, it start feeling warm. There must be some kind of transistor there that powers the illuminated light of the P, R, D, etc.. Does your panel feel warm after your headlights instrument lights have been on.

Will interior door panels from a '91 Aerostar fit a '96? No power windows or locks. The panels in our '96 are busted and I found a good set in the salvage yard in a '91. Lady at salvage yard says they're different, but I'm not so sure. Also, will the windshields swap?

I took apart my front bumper for my 2012 Camry SE a while back and swapped it when I hit a cone on the freeway.
I accidentally lost one of those metal nuts that goes underneath the bumper - its like a hexagon if I remember correctly. - I had to use a torque wrench to open them and there was like 8 or 10 total.

Any resource that I can use to find the part number of the O2 sensor on my wife's 03 v6 Camry.
I have a check engine light, scanned by code scanner to reveal P2195. This OBD code is supposedly sensor 1, bank 1 "stuck lean" which is the upper O2 sensor on the left side of the engine (closest to radiator with transverse mounting).
So it should be easy to change if this is the issue but I'm having a hell of a time finding the right part number. Too many choices.

I have a 2006 Camry 4 cylinder. The bigger rubber hose coming out from the power steering fluid reservoir has been leaking for quite some time now. I've tried putting a second clamp on it which has worked but hasn't stopped the leak completely. As far as I understand, the big hose has a certain bend to it so I can't just get any rubber hose from an auto parts store and chug it in.
It is leaking all over the nearby surface:
I need to identify the part number for that power steering rubber hose so that I can replace it once and for all. Once the power steering fluid leaks out, my steering starts groaning whenever I turn it.

My 2005 Camry makes a bumping/rattling noise that seems to originate from the right-rear part of the vehicle. The noise sounds whenever I drive over even a small (mild) rough patch or over a dip. I have pulled the tire and checked suspension parts to ensure they are tight and that the muffler is well secured. The tire is fine. Nothing seems to be loose. What might be causing it?

I just bought a used 2010 Camry 2.5 (31K miles) couples of weeks before. After weeks driving, I found some problems about the car.
1. when i start it in the morning (cold start), there is a electric currant noise coming from the steering part, when i press the break pedal, the noise disappear, but then it comes back when I release the brake pedal. It just last like half minute, the noise total gone when I drive or the car warms up. I cannot figure it out.
2. the steering is too..... light. I do not know whether the camry is this style or I just doubt whether the tie rod ends have problem. the steering always move with the tyres even just a little disperfection of the road.

I have 2003 Lexus ES-300 with 79000 miles and recently we tried to jump start car with another car battery, car did start but noticed ABS light came on we even replaced new battery from dealer but can not get rid of ABS light. Dealer was asking for $ just to diagnose the problem, therefore decided to diagnose on my own. I noticed that ABS #2 fuse was blown out in fuse relay box, purchase same type 40a fuse from Auto Zone but as soon as installed it blew up again, did disconnect battery negative terminal and installed another same fuse but as soon as connected battery it blows up again. Where the short might be?

I have a 2000 lexus es 300, last winter I put a new battery in it because it had been going dead. During the summer and fall it was fine but now this winter it's dying again. I don't drive it too often (once every week or two) but every time I go to drive it it's dead again. It doesn't seem to just be a cold thing (it will start within hours and typically days of last being jumped). It has also been known to die from idle, the most recent time I was waiting for my girlfriend at the airport and I was idling in the queue, I eventually got out to see if I could see her waiting somewhere else, so I turned the car off. When I got back in my car it was dead. Is energy leaking somewhere?

This is a new phenomenon for me and from what I have read it could be the emissions system, gas cap or Catalytic. Clearing the codes only brings the lights back on when I put the car in drive or reverse. I know I can replace the gas cap (cheap) Replace the catalytic ( more expensive - since the exhaust has a rupture in the braid) and have the emissions sensor replaced (marginal cost)....

1999 Lexus ES 300. 120k miles.Check engine light. Gives code 0420. Mechanic says it's ethanol gas combined with narrow tolerances of these models. Thing is, I think I recall this on my 03 Avalon happening and eventually turning out to be an oxygen sensor. However, my memory could easily have this mixed up.

I recently bought a used 05' prius, and discovered a flutter sound (sounds like uneven tire) while on a smooth road. It comes from the engine compartment. I has no clue what IT can be.
