Tinting side mirrors? Does it reduce glare?
View 7 RepliesTinting side mirrors? Does it reduce glare?
View 7 RepliesI did some searching on here, but couldn't find much. I know, obviously, that adding an HID kit to a halogen housing will result in glare. So, I guess I am asking... how bad is it on a 2013 Camry? I know that the glare in some housings can be EXTREMELY bad, while some are tolerable.
View 6 RepliesI have a 14.5 and my fiance drove it today and informed me that she couldn't adjust the mirrors... Thought she might be crazy, but when I went out there, sure enough, they wouldn't move. Seems like there's no power. Neither the left or right move... It was too late (and dark) to check the fuses, but there shouldn't be fuses blowing already on this car. Door locks, BSM, windows all work. Which fuse controls this or is there anything else I should check before I bring it in to Toyota?
View 12 RepliesI have a 2003 Camry LE. A replacement drivers side exterior door handle was installed yesterday. The battery was disconnected. Today neither of the side view mirrors work.
(re: checking fuse. Where located & initials on the cover? I don't see it in the manual ).
PS- My girl has 189,000 miles. She has never stalled, sputtered, hesitated. A testament to regular basic upkeep.
I just bought a used car with tinting film on the rear windshield that has gone bad. Is it possible to remove the film without destroying the defroster and antenna wires on the glass? If one damages the wires, is there any way to fix them?
View 4 RepliesI have an 07 Camry SE V6 with auto dimming rear and side view mirrors that just stopped working. I've checked the fuses and everything is ok - where to look next?
View 14 RepliesI'm wanting to put a set of 20's on my 2007 camry but I don't know what size tire I should buy.
I want the as much side wall as possible.
Im scared of highway damage cause doesn't have the best roads.
I have 235/65/16s on now and its on the verge of rubbing.
I just recently noticed that 3 of my 4 windows will not go up or down. Drivers side OK. Recently had the recall done for the passenger seat sensor, but I can't recall if I exercised the windows after. I am thinking maybe the master switch in the driver's door could have died. 2012 Camry XLE ...

View 14 RepliesI just installed a back up camera - great picture clear day and night but the problem I am having is the guidelines on the camera don't line up with the side of the car, the driver side seems fine but the passenger is around a foot short, I have mounted the pavement twice so far.

I was thinking of adding on Body Side Molding.
How does it look in person? any pictures?
I had cars with it that I've added on after. I like the look of it either way [on or off]
Wash the car today, unfortunately found the driver side doorsill start to have some rust, and luckily the rust only found at he driver side doorsill rest doorsill looks fine.
Don't know what to do now, get it painted? or just grease it will keep rust from spreading?
After I hit about 1k miles on my XLE I developed a creaking noise on the right side of the dash. It can be heard on all but the smoothest roads at any speed over 20-25 MPH. The rougher the road the worse it gets. At first I thought it was something in the glove box because after repositioning stuff the noise went away temporarily. When it came back I removed everything from the glove box. Having the box door open has no affect and the creaking is still present. I would describe the noise as if two pieces of plastic were rubbing on each other. I have tried applying pressure in all directions to all visible surfaces. It seems I can change the noise or temporarily stop it my pushing on the dash about one inch to the right of the NAV system one inch above the wood trim panel. This usually changes or stops the noise but not always.
Now I have been an auto tech for 30+ years and know finding and fixing rattles, wind noise etc. I figure I will attempt to fix it my self. My first thought was to remove the glove box and take a look around. Do to the 10 million air bags this does not look like an easy task. I have Michell 1 at work so I took a look at the procedure to remove the passenger side dash airbags as I could find nothing about removing the glove box. I only spent about 30 minutes today looking in Michell and partially removing some of what looks to be stopping me.
I was hoping it would be easy. If I have to pull too many pieces off I may loose the ability to find the creak. If I need to remove the air bags I will need to disable the system and drive without the system to find the noise. I suppose I could take in to the dealer to have them not fix it and f up who knows what in the process.
I installed a DDM HID Kit for about two weeks week this morning the passenger side didn't come on. I have to turn off the light and turn it back on for the passenger side to come on and went it did it was slowly turning on took like 15 second to fully turn on. I have a relay harness. Do I have a bad bulb or a ballast should i try switching the bulbs?
View 9 RepliesMy 2014 Camry XLE has the drivers side door rattle. What is it inside the door that rattles?
In comparison, my 2012 Corolla LE was built in Japan and was just as quiet as a mouse inside.
This is the only rattle. So small and so persistent. It comes and goes, sometimes lasting an hour, but when it is gone it is definitely gone.
I can tap on the panels, open and shut the door, run the window up and down and yet it continues to rattle. Then, all on its own, it disappears. Sometimes for days without making a peep or a squeak.
It is not the Seat belt, nor is it anything attached to the seat belt. (If anything should be rattling it should be at the seat belt pillar adjustment).
The first time installing my hid without a relay harness was a fail. One side keep coming on and off and I gave up went back to stock after it blew out my fuse. This time I tried using using the same kit with a relay harness and it was good for about 10-15 mins and then it starts flickering then both side went off. Pulled over and realized my fuse blew out again. I am having real bad luck with hid, or is it a bad kit?? I love hid but it's really causing me a headache. Can my 2014 Camry not handle HID or what? New kit?? Car can't handle hid?? Why does my fuse keep blowing?!! My kit is opt7 by the way.
View 14 RepliesMy rear windows, driver's side mostly was stuck...on and off, mostly off...since I bought Kitacamry 2 years ago, and discovered this...(for search engine users the title identifies potential sources for the problem)...
The windows were so snug that they stuck to the rubber if not used much, and here in south Florida they're hardly used, and often would not roll down...sometimes they would but not always...dealers thought it was the motor, or the regulator or the switch...and who could blame them?
I've discovered that it's not the regulator, and that the motor was just not strong enough to "break the seal" of the rubber.
I recently had a regulator repaired (a screw was loose) and noticed that the shop sprayed the rubber with silicone and that made the window glide much more smoothly...soooo....
I sprayed the other windows' rubber seals...and WOW....all open and glide down and up smooth as silk...If your windows are stuck....give silicone spray a shot...
Shortly after driving off the dealer lot last year with the 2014 Camry a persistent rattle would appear at 70 MPH. It sounded like it was coming from inside the passenger door.
The culprit was a loose passenger side rocker panel knocking against the undercarriage at highway speeds. A few plastic push pins securing the panel to the underside of the frame backed out.
After pushing the pins back in a small dab of RTV was applied at a few locations where the rocker panel comes in contact with the undercarriage and dab was applied to each push pin. Now, not even the heartiest of car washes will work anything loose again.
I hope this car isn't going to turn out to be a regret.. I've had it a couple weeks and have nothing but minor issues.. Now the rear drivers side tire is leaking air. I really don't want to bring a car with 500 miles to the dealer, I don't trust them. I could take the tire off and bring it to a tire shop but what could be the cause? I have no vibrations so I wouldn't assume the wheel. From that I can tell it doesn't look like anything is sticking out of it..
View 7 RepliesI put lowering springs on a few months ago and a pop/clunk has developed. There is a tiny lip of pavement just past my garage door and it clunks as I back out at an angle over it. Worse case I can check the torque on all of the bolts.
