View 14 RepliesFrom the past couple of days i've been trying to google but nothing. I want to install an amp and sub in my camry I have never done it before so I can run the power and remote wire . My question is how to connect / run the RCA wires.
View 9 RepliesI had squirrels eat wires to the front 3 Ignition coil connector on my a 2005 ford escape XLT,my question is the new connectors have a white and black wire and the old ones had a red and a colored wire, but comparing both old and new connectors I notice the new connector has the black wire where the old connector has a red, so do I use the black wire to replace the old Red? , it's rather confusing to me when you plug in the new connector you can see the black wire is where the red wire was on the old one, or does it matter which wire goes where?
View 2 RepliesI got my LED DRL kit today, the harness has 3 wires red(+), black(-), and white(for connect to (+) of headlight so when headlight on the drl will go off). So I will connect black wire to negative of battery or ground, red wire to ACC or ign. So my question is how can I find ACC and how can I connect white wire to (+) of headlights? My led drl kit is similar with the kit in the link: [URL] ...
View 1 Repliesi have a 2012 toyota camry with the 10 speaker JBL system, i am trying to find which harness is the one for the speaker wires. i saw on youtube it says there are two sockets for the speaker wires (one for rear and one for the front) i think this is for the regular radio.
I don't see that on my camry. There is one long socket though, but there's TWO wires of red, and two of purple, so I don't know which one to go with.
While I was installing my side mirror turn signals I noticed there were two plugs tucked away in plastic not connected to anything. One is towards the outside of the door. As if it was to be connected to the door handle sensor that comes with the push button start package. The other one was towards the inside of the door, as if it is used with the lane assist or even side mirror turn signals. I never really messed with them as I was following the DYI. I should've checked to see if they were wired to the turn signals so I wouldn't have had to run the wires all the way to the fuse block. Below are the pictures of what I'm talking about.

THE PROBLEM: Our Prius 12V aux battery died after my wife left the light on inside the car and instead of buying a new battery, we decided to try jump starting it. My wife tried jump starting our Prius with the neighbors pickup truck and even though I wasn't physically there to witness it, I'm pretty sure that the polarity got swapped during the process. It wouldn't start afterwards, so we went out and bought a brand new 12V aux battery. The prius still will not start. No electric components seem to work (door locks, back brake lights, windows, radio don't work). The dash only shows the orange exclamation mark and the check engine light, nothing else. The power button blinks orange, never goes green.
TROUBLESHOOTING that I've tried:
1. Checked the big 120A fuse right on the positive + terminal. Visibly looked good.
2. Checked all the fuses by the drivers left knee. All tested good with resistance + visible checks.
3. Checked all the fuses in the fusebox under the hood. All tested good EXCEPT the big relay integration fuse under the white plastic cover. It was definitely blown.
4. Replaced the relay integration, still no luck, same exact symptoms.
5. Tried force starting the car in emergency mode by holding the brake and power button down for 15+ secs. The engine starts, but the dash is still dead showing just the check engine light and orange exclamation mark. Can not shift gears or drive.
6. Tried slow charging the NEW battery to get the voltage higher, still no luck. It's testing about 13V with everything off.
I have 99 F250 V10 2wd Extended cab with factory CD and Tape deck. I am replacing it with ebay DVD 2din deck with GPS and looking where are the wires for Reverse and Parking are located.
Is it possible to connect/send false reading to parking brake wire to be able to watch DVD's while driving.
My newly purchased DVD/MP3?GPS Player
For our new pontoon with surge brakes I need to add reverse lights to the wiring harness to deactivate the surge brakes while backing up. What is the proper way of doing this? BTW this is on an 06 F150 XLT with factory 7 pin harness.

i got my otocam3 from adc mobile and will be adding a backup camera to but need to connect the (+) reverse wire from the radio.
Whats the right way to shift the car, when I reverse the car and want to change it drive D, should car be at complete stop OR we can still change it from R to P with with car slowly moving back. I usually apply brake, and let it complete stop, then change the gear shifter. But yesterday I was in hurry and didn't wait for the stop, car was very slow, but I didn't notice any jerks or anything wrong with it.
View 5 RepliesI changed a fuel pump that a service shop said was bad. It would start and run for a few minutes and then stop. If it started at all. I dropped the tank and put a new pump in. The car did not start at all, not once. Not even fire. I had to install a new electrical connector inside the tank on the pump. The connector was different than the one in there. I connected black wire to black and grey to grey, thinking that made sense. Took off inline fuel filter next to tank. Had someone turn on key to see if fuel would come out. Nothing. But I did hear fuel running loudly through the return line. Which confused me at the time.
Thinking of it over night, could it be not likely, very likely those lines are in reverse, causing the pump to pump backwards. Which is why I heard fuel going through the return line? If this is the case I am going to try tomorrow to reverse the lines going into the tank. Instead of the fun of removing tank again. Why would pumps have black and grey wires that hook up differently?
I have a 2014 Camry LE with 21,000 miles. I am hearing a clicking sound when I brake while in reverse. What this sound might be? I tried to replicate the sound at the dealer but I couldn't. Now it just started again today.
View 5 RepliesA coworker has asked me to take a look at their 2013 Camry LE, 48,000 miles. It has a quite annoying vibration at idle and only when in reverse or drive. AC is not running this time of year, but does get worse if the compressor is turned on.
I'd like to think the trans and engine mounts are fine. It does not have any noticeable torque converter shudder. I have cleaned the throttle body, not that dirty, but not much improvement.
I suggested that he try different brands and grades of gas to see if matters improved at all - Shell 89 seems to be a slight improvement over what is normally used (just 87 from Costco, Sunoco, or Hess), but nothing substantial.
Spark plug change, decarbonizing top end?
Spark plugs look about like I'd expect an iridium plug to at these miles - no signs of oil burning, not tons of carbon, etc. I didn't get a real good look at the piston tops.
I have a 2012 camry hybrid that had the stock push button radio and I wanted to add a backup camera. So I picked up a 2013 camry entune display head unit to replace the stock one without a display.
The backup camera does not work when the car is in reverse and I see that the mpg and other data does not update on the radio display, although all of the same data is displayed on the instrument cluster.
I am planning to buy this 2012 Camry LE (38k), automatic, I am on the test run and realized that the car's shifting from park to reverse is harder than shifting from reverse to drive. What I mean is, it is really hard to move the selector from Park to Reverse.
View 6 RepliesI've noticed something weird with my 14.5. Over the last two days it's making a clunking noise and the car shudders going from neutral to reverse. I never noticed it before on this car and certainly not on my 2012. I'm not on a hill, revving it, or anything, foot is firmly on the brake. I first noticed it going from drive to park, felt it, and was able to repeat it sitting there by going from neutral to reverse.
The other oddity I noticed is the car sometimes rocks forward once I put it in park and took my foot off the brake, even with the parking brake on, but it doesn't do that all the time either, grade doesn't matter. The parking brake works fine, it holds the car in place in neutral on a slight incline, and I felt it when I backed the car up with the brake on a month ago.
Didn't think to mention this at my appointment the other day but now that it's acting odd going from N to R I'm wondering if I should have. This transmission seems to shift better though overall then my last one (little smoother, quicker) so I'm hesitant to have them start messing with fluid levels or anything.
Sometimes when I go into reverse it feels like it pops into reverse and it doesn't go into reverse smoothly but sometimes it does go into reverse smoothly.
View 10 RepliesMy reverse lights are out on my GLI 2004, i bought a new reverse light switch thinking that would fix it but no.......
I then checked for power in line and by jumping it and the light go on
So Switch is goodLine as power
But as soon as it's intalled no go, light out.... it seem's like the lever inside doesn't reach the connector from the switch.
My 2012 Toyota Camry SE V6. 37,500 miles. Occasionally when I'm parked shifting down to reverse it's so tight/put effort to shift & it literally thumps the entire car.. I heard to put the E-BRAKE/PARKING BRAKE down BEFORE shifting it to park & it worked but occasionally even with the E-BRAKE/PARKING BRAKE it still jerks the entire car going from PARK to REVERSE.
Also going from REVERSE to NEUTRAL it gives off a little vibration underneath me ALL THE TIME going from REVERSE to NEUTRAL.. I know these are so many questions that are probably a no-brainer answer but I'm looking to see if any one here had/has or heard of a similar or exact problem. Is the trans fluid low or dirty? I saw the CARFAX I didn't see the services he's done it's only been 1 owner on this car I'm the second. Previous owner leased it brand new.
I noticed recently that my car started this popping noise when braking in reverse gear. I never ran over anything and babied it for all the 6000 miles it has on the ODO. 2015 Camry
