Camry 2012+ :: XLE Will Not Start - Key Is Not Detected

I have been having a problem where my 2012 XLE will not start. I can get into the car. I can press the start button and all the dash lights will turn on but yet it will not let me press on brake to start the car. It is almost like the theft deterrent system will not turn off. It is not happening all the time but has happened quite a few times.

This last time it happened, it was far from home on vacation late at night. In the end I am still not sure how I was finally able to get the car to start. Also, another thing that has happened is that I will be DRIVING down the road and it will say the key is not detected.

I have taken it to Toyota service center and they cannot find the issue. They say the only way they would be able to find the issue is if they can duplicate it.

Camry :: 2007 TCH Smart Key Is Not Detected

Today I locked my Camry by pressing the button on the outside door handle and it worked perfectly. About an hour later, I tried opening the door and it wouldn't unlock. I took my door key out of the smart key fob and unlocked the doors manually. I then tried to start the car and got the message "Key Is Not Detected". I held the smart key infront of the push button start and waited for it to beep, then started the car. The message center displayed "Key Is Not Detected" the entire time I was driving.

I figured that the battery was dead in the smart key, so I stopped by Radio Shack and bought a new battery, replaced it, and tried to use it to unlock and start the car. Same thing happened again. I drove home, once again, with the message "Key Is Not Detected" the whole way home. When I got home, I went inside and got my second smart key. I tried to use it on the car, and the exact same thing happened. I have done research, and I haven't been able to find any answers as to what could be causing this issue. I can't even lock or unlock the car by pressing the buttons on either of the smart key remotes. It's a 2007 Camry Hybrid with every option available and 114,000 miles on it.

Camry :: 2007 2GR-FE - Small Oil Leak Detected

Took my Camry into the dealership for some preemptive work. Mechanic located a small oil leak under the car. Went through several iterations of cleaning/driving it for a few days to see if the issue would reoccur, unfortunately it seems to been a consistent leak (small).

The mechanic was unable to fully pinpoint where the leak is coming from (something about the oil riding down the power steering line down). We started off with two potential locations:

washers around/near the VVTI line, the housing on the engine. I've been wanting the metal VVTI line for a while, so I went ahead and replaced it. Unfortunately, the leak continued.

I was advised that in order to work on the housing on the engine (describe as possible bad seal) they would have to remove the power steering and the engine. Estimate to be 15-20 hours. They would remove the housing and reapply the seal.

Would like to reach out to the members of TN for advice. As of right now, the leak is very small and there has been no noticeable oil accumulation on the drive way. Still, this issue is somewhat annoying.

I've attached a pic, there's a very small drip of oil. It's located on mid/passenger side of the bottom bay.

My wife's 08 Camry the other day the gauges all went crazy and the a/c stopped working. But then the problem goes away its intermittent issue.

I took it to the shop they said the ABS control module is bad.

Camry :: 2007 V6 - Check VSC System Light On / Misfire Detected

I have a 2007 Camry V6 with 49K miles. Yesterday the Check VSC System lite came on along with the check engine light and picture of a car with tracks behind it. The car runs perfect. The engine is smooth, no misses, and no other signs of any kind of problems. My wife drives this car about 6K miles a year. Took it to AutoZone this morning to check the codes. The first thing that came up was Fuel Injector Pressure Regulator. Then codes P0301,02,03,04,05,06 each saying Misfire Detected. Also code P0352 Ignition Coil B Primary / Secondary Circuit.

Camry :: P0440, P0441, P0442, P0446 Codes Detected

2003 Camry LE, 4 cyl, 165k miles – Got all of the above codes. Obviously checked gas cap and no issues there. Checked both VSV underhood and had clicking. Checked VSV at canister under vehicle and no clicking. Used a Dremel oscillating tool with flat metal blade to cut off rusted Philips head screw. Removed VSV and checked by jumpering to battery. No clicking, but did draw a tiny arc. That told me it was “trying” to actuate. Sprayed PB Blaster into hose fittings of VSV and mowed the lawn. Came back to VSV and it now actuated – but very slowly and delayed. Sprayed electrical contact cleaner in hose fittings with the VSV jumpered and open. Activated VSV several times and sprayed contact cleaner through the hose fittings several times – both directions. VSV began to active quickly. Put VSV back on vehicle. SES light went out by itself after it ran the EVAP test.

I have a 2012 camry se i4 (29k miles). So, when i shift to R the car start vibrates, i can feel it when i hold the steering wheel. Also, something at the stop sign or red light, i can feel the car vibrates. I live in MN, the weather is really cold and a lot of snow now. Is that why?

I just bought a 2012 Camry SE. Came with one master key. Bought a replacement online and I am about to have it cut/programmed. I called an auto locksmith and the guy indicates he can program the key to start the car but not the remote part of the key. How do I program this part?

Camry 2012+ :: Possible To Start 2014.5 SE In 2nd Gear?

I used to drive a manual shift Honda Accord. When I was starting the car on snow, I often put the car in 2nd gear, and it was much less likely for the wheels to spin. I now have a 2014.5 SE. I believe that older generation Camry has a switch that allows the car to be start in the 2nd gear, but it seems that the feature is gone with the 7th generation. Is that true?

Prius (2010-12) :: Key Not Detected Message When Try To Start With Single FOB

After last maintenance at dealer where I got my Prius. I get two or three times of "Key not Detected" message per week when I try to start the car. I have to push start button several times for the car to detect key and start up properly. However, I don't have issue to unlock door by placing hand on the sensor and enter driver's seat. Where to start? I thought it was battery issue, but that wouldn't explain why I don't have any issue unlocking the driver door by placing hand on the sensor, which I always do before I push the start button.

Camry 2012+ :: Dash Lights Come On And Blinks Once But Car Won't Start

My 2014 camry won't start. I put my key in the ignition and the dash lights come on and blinks once and won't start. The brake pedal won't depress and the steering wheel stays stiff.

I was messing with my sound system the day before and now the car won't start. I've check the battery and it's good and has juice. I've checked all the fuses and relays seem to be fine. Everything work on the car it just won't start.

These cars have a main relay or something with the ignition switch?

Camry 2012+ :: Unable To Turn Ignition Key To Start Up The Car

This a second time I am unable to turn the ignition key to start up the car. Eventually I was able to do so by exiting and entering the car, but I did not realize what is causing this type of event. Is this a feature of this car so that it is hard to be stolen? Is there anything in the owner's manual explaining what I did or didn't do to cause this problem? I spent about 15 minutes until I was finally able to start the car (using the key), but I want to avoid this issue again.

Camry 2012+ :: Frequent Knock On Cold Start

I have a 2012 Camry Hybrid 4 cylinder. I like the car but it has a knock on cold start. I have around 12000 mi on the car. I noticed the knock after a few months of ownership. It does not do it every time. Usually happens after sitting overnight and in colder weather. I live in Minnesota so it gets cold. The car is always garaged. It started as a knock for around 15-20 seconds. Now it seems to be more frequent and lasts for a longer duration, but it eventually smooths out and runs fine. The noise does not sound good. Sounds like there is no oil in the motor and it vibrates and shakes some until it finally smooths out. I just think this sound should not be from a Toyota, with its advanced engine design.

Camry 2012+ :: Maintenance Required Light Blinking At Start Up

Maintenance Required Light just started blinking at start up... Blinks 8 times then stops. Looked up in manual. Will start blinking at start up at 4500 miles and then stay on after 5000 miles. Guess it's time to schedule the 1st trip to the service department.

Noticed that when you first start the car it makes a very strange noise? Almost as if the motor was running dry for a few seconds and the rpms fluctuate a little... Is that normal? I've only recently owned my camry and was just curious. 2.5L motor.

Camry 2012+ :: 2015 LE - Bluetooth Music Starts Automatically Whenever Start Car

I have 2015 Camry LE trim. Whenever I start my car and connect Bluetooth, music starts playing automatically. Bad thing is it keeps on playing when I am navigating using Google or Apple map. It will reduce volume momentarily while a navigation instruction is being played and start off again. I can't turn it off completely while navigating. If I hit pause it will stop until the next navigation instruction is played. After an instruction is played music starts again. I just can't turn the damn music off! It's not just the Apple Music app, I have another streaming music app. If I'm listening to that app before entering the car, it somehow starts playing music from that app.

Camry 2012+ :: Car Making Loud Clunking Sound When Cold Start

My car is making almost like a clunking sound when starting. It doesn't do it all the time, mostly it is when its a cold start but its happening more frequent. I have the push button start, would warranty cover this?
