I bought a pair of LED strips that I would like to run instead of the DRLs. I want them to be on whenever the car is on. I don't have a wiring diagram, and I'm not sure where I can tap some power or wire up a relay to have them come on only when the car is on.
View 8 RepliesI have a 1997 F250 that I am fixing up. The issue is this... The dash lights now flicker off when I place the transmission in Drive position. I can slightly move the slack in the gear selector and the lights come back on. When the transmission is in Park, the dash lights work correctly. Not sure why there is some type of switch to control the dash lights buried within the steering column?

View 2 RepliesSo here is a fun one for you. Somewhere in my wiring I have a short that is causing my lights, blinkers and ignition to all activate. Example, I lock the car, the dash lights, brights, everything flash on and off with the horn... Should be a fun one, car runs and drives fun, however when I turn on the lights both blinkers and the bright come on the dash, weirdness.
View 5 RepliesI have a 2012 SE v6 with 1600 miles on it. About a week ago, I noticed my bumper cover pulled away from the corner of the headlight and there was a noticeable gap. I pushed on it, and heard a click. The bumper stayed in place. After a couple days driving, it came loose again. I didnt touch it so the Service Writer would see it first hand. Of course, his first instinct was to puch on it, but I got loud quickly, so he kept his hands to himself, and heard me out. I knew if he clicked it back into place I would be SOL. He admitted something needed to be done, not just click it back.
When I picked it up, he said it was a known issue, and there is a TSB on it. He claimed they replaced a bracket. The invoice reads, "ADDED FELT TO TIGHTEN FIT". Yeah, Im sure that will hold just long enough for them to wash their hands of it.
I have a 2012 Camry and was wondering how to remove the rear bumper cover? Someone backed into me so I have a shallow dent I want to pop out of the plastic.

For example I have been told that on the sixth generation Camry you have to remove the bumper to change the turn signal bulb. I have never had to deal with this, just what I have been told.

I accidentally lost one of those metal nuts that goes underneath the bumper - its like a hexagon if I remember correctly. - I had to use a torque wrench to open them and there was like 8 or 10 total.

View 2 RepliesI have a rental 2012 Avalon for two weeks. Yesterday I noticed extensive scratches at the front/right corner of the front bumper. The scratches could be covered with two hands. Some scratches are as deep as the primer, but not on the plastic.
I am pretty sure that they are not there until last one or two days ( it has been raining, they would not be very visible when wet). The scratches looks kind of old, could it be that they were fixed in a substandard way so that they are washed off in the rain and became visible?
I see some wires dangling in the front bumper which looks like fog lights plugs but I don't get it so is it just plug and play buy a new bumper with fog lights or something? My car doesn't have fog lights but it looks like there is wires for fog lights.
View 10 RepliesBlower, seats, locks, blinkers stopped simultaneously, abs and airbag light came on. The internet suggested it was the ignition switch, I changed it to no avail. The horn, wipers, 4-way flashers, headlights, taillights, and brake lights all work. Is my wife correct in suggesting we replace this 140,000 mile pile of rust?
View 5 RepliesWe have a lovely 1998 Buick Riviera with less than 140,000 miles. Normally, it runs great but in the last year, it has developed a neurosis. When we try to start it, 98% of the time, it starts immediately. Once in awhile, you can place the key in the ignition, "click" and nothing. It's as if the car were dead. Trying over and over is a waste of time. You have to wait about 5 minutes or so and WHAM! ... it starts right away. Then it will continue to start fine for days and have a relapse. I can usually tell that it is about to happen because there will be a tiny (fraction of a second) gap between the moment we turn the key and the response. It will do this 4-5 times and then "play dead". Wait 5 minutes and no problem. Then it will continue to run fine for days - even weeks.
View 3 RepliesI plan on moving the engine/drivetrain from my 1986 F350 460 to my 1996 F250. I also want to move over the 1986's ignition system with a Duraspark 2 setup.
Although I could just cut in the easiest places to remove the wiring for later reuse I am looking for where to make the cuts, what to take and what to scrap. Alternatively I am also asking if there are aftermarket or OEM replacement sets out there are aren't a ton of money. The current harness in the 1986 has been sprayed with engine oil and cooked for 27 years so I am looking at alternative options if there are any.
How would I go about wiring the turn signals to be DRL instead of the high beams?
View 8 RepliesWhat I am trying to do it put in 2 led spot light for added backing up light. What i want to do is have them turn on when put into reverse but also have a switch i can use to turn them on when not in reverse. Just need to know what relay I need and if it even can be done.
I was also thinking of just taping into the wiring harness and adding a wire that goes to the spot lights and another wire that goes to a switch that I could turn on and supply power to the light when not in reverse (I know it will light the revers light also) but is it ok to do that?
My 2000 f350 has wires that dont match anything I've seen. I need to mate this to an 08 harness so I need to be accurate. I have
(2) yellow. I know this is 12v constant
(2) green/purple I know this is 12v constant

here its is i have a 1986 ford f350 6.9 aftermarket turbo set up i was driving it then i went over rail road tracks lost all power to fuse box no headlights no interior lights no ignition power batteries are good so now when i turn key nothing lights up it just killed my whole truck....

View 4 RepliesThis a second time I am unable to turn the ignition key to start up the car. Eventually I was able to do so by exiting and entering the car, but I did not realize what is causing this type of event. Is this a feature of this car so that it is hard to be stolen? Is there anything in the owner's manual explaining what I did or didn't do to cause this problem? I spent about 15 minutes until I was finally able to start the car (using the key), but I want to avoid this issue again.
