Camry 2012+ :: What Does Water Resistant Rely Mean
Mar 30, 2013
I'm looking to add some led's to the exterior of my camry and they all seem to say water resistant. Will they last in the rain or snow in the winter?

View 2 RepliesJust got home from grabbing a bite to eat and notice that there was a puddle of water sitting in the garage. I had it parked there for about 2 hours after coming from a three hour trip, but not once did I used the ac. The day before the car was outside in the rain. Is this normal for the Camry?
View 12 RepliesI have a v6 se 2013, and I just happen to see that there is some water drops inside my right fog light, I change my bulbs like a month ago, is that the reason? And if it is and I take it to the dealer would they avoid my warranty.
View 3 RepliesI just purchased my camry 3 weeks ago and I noticed that water (from rain and car wash) is going into my tail light and head lights. Not a lot of water, just a little bit. Went to the dealership today and they said it's normal for all toyotas and it'll dry out by itself. Is this true?
View 14 RepliesI have a brand new Camry SE 2014.5 and since day one, when ever I park the car and come back after a short while or when ever I start the car and keep it on for a while, it looses water under the front passenger side. Initially I thought it is the air condition but now I am afraid that there is something wrong with the coolant system. BTW: The temperature of the engine is always in the normal zone. The car is about 2 month and 1500 miles old. What it could be?
View 7 RepliesI recently had my Subaru Impreza (2011) brought in for repairs to replace the brake pads and rotors. Upon driving home from the repair shop, I noticed that it was a lot harder to pull up on my parking brake than before when I parked.
My question is: is this a sign of something I should go back to the mechanic about? Is there such thing as the parking brakes being on TOO tight? I just wanted to be sure.
There is water sound under dash. I read about clogged drain so I tried sticking up a thin rod from drain line and gets stopped after some length. Should I force it up (push, hit harder) or will that break something? Is there a angle bend?
I did not get a water leak on carpet yet but the sound is getting more so more water collecting? What should I do next?
I have an Elantra SE 08 and suddenly have an Airbag code: b1361: driver seat belt pretensioner resistant high. How can I check this, I went to scanner, deleted it, but is on again !!
View 8 RepliesAs it just began to warm up, I decided to take a look under the hood to see how the oil's doing. I changed it 3k miles ago in Sept. I was shocked to find that water has found its way into the Oil system - I see sludge (getting that when water mixes with oil) -- What do I do? I've always had the oil changed at the VW dealer. What would cause this?
View 8 RepliesSo, i have a 2012 Golf R 2 DR. at 2,415 miles, driving normal on the way to work at about 42 MPH in 5th gear, i heard a "POP" then "THUNK THUNK THUNK" and the car died. Tow to the dealer, and apparently, "the water pump came apart and exploded sending a gear through the casing and into (and shredding) my timing belt..." new motor on order, should have the car back by the end of next week.
just letting everyone know, it seemed that the VW dealer here hasn't seen this yet. the car was built in march. thinking just a faulty water pump....
I had a 2012 Camry but has not found the TPM display on it. It has fuel info and trip history when push the CAR button. I thought it should be there. How do I locate or set it up? Or it is not standard on LE?
View 4 RepliesWe have water leak issues for close to a year now, very frustrating. Not heard much of B7s leaking so I thought I'd stop in here and check it out. Great car to drive, only other issue we've had was the cold weather inactive drivers door lock as seen by many others.
View 3 RepliesThis is what my ticket reads, vehicle operating at manufacture standards. Tech road tested vehicle at highway speeds. Tech compared vehicle to demo vehicle. Demo vehicle was road tested at highway speeds. Both vehicles have exact same wind noise. I have also had water leak into the car from same area, for this they said the door seal is deformed & ordered a new one. The carpet in the back where the spare is located is also separating from the material it is glued to.
View 3 RepliesYesterday I took test drive of Toyota Camry SE 2012 (New). It was really good, except: When I came out of the car, I felt some change in vision and a bit of headache. The feeling was something similar to when you wear glasses which has significant number for a minute and then you take them off.I figured out this was because of the windshield having some distortions. So, are all new Camrys like this only or there was something wrong with that particular windshield?
View 8 RepliesI have had my Camry for 9 months and unfortunately didnt know that water was going inside my trunk every time it rained, the car was washed, or snow melted! I took it to the dealer to have it looked at only to find out the trunk body seal needed to be replaced. I have had cars over 10 years and water in the trunk was never an issue.
This is my first Camry and I must admit I am not satisfied with the purchase. I hope my experience gets better.
I am concerned about a water puddle that forms under my Camry, I drive it then I park it the garage , and the next day there is a puddle of water, under the passenger side. I use the air condition. And was thinking that maybe it was the condensation from the air condensation. I keep check the antifreeze level , so its not that. I don't know of anything else it could be.
View 5 RepliesI have a 08 camry 4 cyl LE (51,000 Miles). I went to oil change last week but dealer told me that water pump is seeping and recommend to replace.
I talked to local mechanic about this, he told me that 08 camry comes with bad water pump parts. My sister drive 08 tc her water pump was also leak, she replaced under powertrain warranty last year. But my warranty was over last year by age.
my 2007 Camry LE I4 and I got an oil change at the dealer today. He tried to tell me my water pump was leaking and needed replacement.
Offered me a deal of "%50 off the price for $500" which I think is ridiculous. Took it to a family friend that is a mechanic and he said $266 to replace the whole thing.
Dealer said they would do a price match but I'm not sure what to do.
They said it would make it to Tennessee and back because it's in its infant stage.
My question is, when I refilled my low antifreeze, I accidentally overfilled a lot past the line. Would this have anything to do with this issue?
I have a 2007 Camry with V6, automatic. My wife drives it daily and she said that a light came on saying water temp and it started to run hot. When I looked at it I could not see fluid anywhere and the reservoir along with the radiator was very low, almost a gallon of fluid to fill it up. I took the shroud from over the top of the radiator and along the top of the radiator and where it meets the fins the pink dried fluid was along it. I could also see where it looks like it's getting onto the electric fan. At first I thought the water pump was going (147K) but now I think it might be the radiator is bad....
View 8 RepliesThe twin bottle holder sump in the trunk of my 2003 Camry takes on a few inches of water after driving through heavy rains. All other parts of the trunk, carpet, spare tire well, etc., always remain bone dry and I cannot figure out where the water is coming in. There is no sign of water coming in through the lid seal and the seal itself is unbroken and pliable. There is the seal mark uniformly minted across the sealing surface of the trunk lid.
There is something of a gap in the body right in front of the sump if you peel back the floor covering, but I can't see light through it. The sump itself, when it's dry, shows no signs of cracks or leakage. I do not actually store water or any other liquids in the sump. Actually, because it takes on water, I don't store anything in the sump. It seems easy enough to replace the bottle sump, but I'm a little reluctant to do so until I can figure out exactly where it's coming from.
I was hearing some sounds from my engine and opened up the timing covers to determine where the sound was coming from. It sounds exactly like the Sienna with the same 3MZ engine in this video: YouTube ....
While I didn't find the source of the noise, I did find that my water-pump is leaking. My question is, is this water-pump leaking bad enough to be replaced? I do not notice any coolant loss and never had the need to top up.
It appears from this last photo that the pump is leaking through its pulley shaft and not at the interface with the engine:
The timing belt and water-pump were changed 3 years ago with the Gates timing belt kit from RockAuto. The pump at the time didn't look that great quality in its casting compared to an Aisin pump.
I could not feel any play or hear any abnormal sounds from the pump while it was running with the timing covers off.
This is on my 2005 Lexus ES330 with the 3MZ-FE 3.3L V6 engine, same motor as the Gen 5 Camry SE V6.
