When I accelerate lightly and when the Eco light is on, u can feel a shaking or jerking in the gas pedal? But when I accelerate harder it stops. It seems to happen under light acceleration through most of the gears?

I started having a jerking while accelerating lightly or in between shifting then the overdrive light comes on and then flashes trans fault on dash. I took it to the local tranny shop who fixed the problem however about a year later it started doing it again. What the problem could be before I have to spend another bucks?
View 4 RepliesMy 2009 Camry's gas pedal is really loose for some reason. I can feel the gas pedal shaking as I try to accelerate really fast sometimes. In addition, my engine is louder than most of other Camries out there. I heard that adjusting the throttle cable should work. However, I can seem to find the cables.

View 14 RepliesI got a used 2012 Toyota Camry LE a week back, and I could feel that my Car Pickup speed is very poor and its struggling and jerking to reach 40 miles/hour speed, once reached 40 miles/hour then it runs smoothly.
I don't throttle more after a complete stop , but i could not see a smoothness or easy moving with my car. When I get to service station , they say its normal and they are saying i need to throttle more to get the right gear, as camry is designed like that.
Last weekend I got the first brake job done on my mom's 2012 Camry SE which has a bit over 43K. The car was shaking upon braking at 60+ mph.
To keep it short, the pads on the vehicle were not even half way used. I wanted to re-use the pads, but I had already purchased another set (ceramic). So got those installed and re-surfaced the rotor.
My question is, can I use the original pads when I get new rotors on the next brake job?
I just bought a 2014.5 Camry SE and the day I drive it off the lot I noticed it shaking at around 40mph. I made an appt. fort the following week and they said the found all 4 tires had flat spots so they replaced all with 4 new tires. Well, about a week later the shaking started again. Now it's worse than before, especially at higher speeds. I dropped it off today.
View 14 RepliesI recently bought a camry 2013 and I have a few questions.
-Some mechanical click sounds in the rear when navigating on tight turns at speed of 25 - 30 mph (the trunk is empty and there is nothing in th back seat)
-Transmission jerks when accelerating/decelerating between 25 - 45 mph speeds. If I accelerate from a stop and get up to 30/35 mph and go easy on the gas, then I can feel the transmission jerk (and get into a different gear ?).
-Occassionally the car seems powerless. This happens when the AC is turned on and the car refuses to increase speed on a level road and engine rpm at about 2300
-Mostly on highways, I keep pressing on gas and still the car doesn't pick up on speed.
-Remote doesn't function in the mornings. Every single morning. Have to click unlock a couple of times before it can work. It happens Occassionally during the day at any given hour.
-Occasionally Radio will restart for no reason.
-Can feel engine jerking (turning off with a thud) when turning off ignition
-Assisted braking works only between speeds 35 to 20 post which the braking by the engine will suddenly release.
To describe better this is what exactly happens: The car is travelling at 50 mph. To stop when I am applying little pressure on the brake pedal, say 10 lbs, the car begins to slow down, once it is in the 20 to 35 mph range, the brakes will behave like 15 lbs of pressure is being applied. Once the car is at around 20 mph, then all of a sudden the pressure will disappear and the car will come to a hault whenever it feels like stopping.
OR, from a speed of 35 mph take your foot off the accelerator and wait for the car to come to halt on its own. You can then feel how unstable the speed of the car gets due to this assisted braking not working properly ?
-Car seems unstable (shaking) sometimes while driving at over 70mph
-Never been able to get the advertised 35 mpg on highways.
-Many a times when I flick the indicator stick up (to turn the right blinker) there is a distinctive metallic 'click' sound like a washer/bush out of place. Same with the steering if I keep turning it all the way to left then it stops with a metalic click.
-The pasting of the interior (white colored) is coming off near where the left foot (dummy) pedal is.
I have about 3,000 miles on my 2014 Camry and the tranny just doesn't "feel" right. Seems clunky and the car lurches a bit when you need to accelerate up a hill. I traded in my 2007 Camry for this car and the '07 performed far better.

Is there any issue with the engine ?
Bought the Camry new in May 2006. Besides the oil hose leak (which a recall fixed), it's been a perfect car.
Fast forward to the present. I needed a brake job, so my master mechanic buddy installed front and rear powerslot rotors and akebono performance pads and flushed my brake fluid. No problems with the brakes.
A few weeks later I wanted to treat my car to a 90K full transmission flush (it's first transmission service). I had it flushed at a local toyota independent shop. They used WS fluid. A few hours later, my transmission which shifted perfectly fine before the flush started shifting weird. I thought the computer had to relearn my wife's driving style. When she brakes hard (if she's going 50 and the light turns yellow and she brakes hard, her car slows down normal, but right before it comes to a complete stop is when the car shakes. She said it started right after the transmission flush.
A few days later when she was at a red light, the car check engine lit up with a check battery (she thinks that's what it said on the screen). When the light turned green, it wouldn't accelerate, but it would roll forward when you let go of the brakes. When she got to a safe place to park/stop she turned off the car. A few minutes later she turned the car back on and it was fine.
I told that to one of my buddies who had something similar happen to him in his 06 Mustang GT, the Ford dealer cleaned his throttle bottle and maf sensor and he was on his way. I had my throttle body and maf cleaned. Now with new brakes, new brake fluid, a flushed transmission, a clean throttle body and maf, I thought everything was good.
On the freeway , the car would not shift to 4th gear or higher. So I exited the freeway, drove the surface streets to a independent Toyota shop. Left the car there all day, they could not find anything wrong. So, right now everything is back to normal except the shaking when you are almost at a complete stop, which started AFTER the transmission flush, what that might be?
To describe the shaking problem, imagine I'm driving 45-50, light turns yellow, I slow down, 50-20 is fine, maybe even 50-15 is fine, but the car shakes right before it fully stops.
I have a 2012 Camry SE with about 30k on it. I've always been a huge Toyota fan but I've had some interesting things happen with my first new car that has me questioning quality. I've had a mouse nest in the cabin air filter with the dead mouse laying in the engine bay (not a toyota issue), a loud rattling exhaust/engine rattle when I start the car, and the common interior creaks that I've been reading about.
However I've noticed a noise coming from somewhere behind the dash, maybe the instrument panel area that has been very annoying. It occurs at highway speeds usually above 65mph and it's kind of like a quick tapping. Very faint but definitely noticeable.
Its not the sunroof because, unfortunately I have that issue also lol. It took me a while to narrow it down to behind the dash but that's as far as I can get because I can't search for it while I'm driving. I'm not very picky but I do like to drive in silence sometimes and listen to the sounds of the engine/tranny shifting (weird I know) but that dashboard noise has been ruining it.
2012 2.5l engine pings softly when I accelerate from a stop. I reported this at my last dealer service and the service manager recommended using Top Tier gas. He said it would take a few tanks to clean everything out. I'm happy to report that the car accelerates much more smoothly and my mileage has improved marginally. But the ping still exists. Engine is not throwing any codes (no check engine light).
On another note, the engine makes a growling sound on cold starts. I did some digging and found a TSB that addresses that issue. Could the engine pinging be related? I have about 4k miles before the bumper-to-bumper warranty runs out.
In the last 8 months I'm having a shaking of the car when starting in first gear (manual trans).
I thought it was a loose engine mount - had it checked and one replaced and still the shaking is there.
I notice it is more pronounced when the engine is hot and starting on a decline.
Since I've had this Camry (almost 8 yrs), I've had the clutch changed 2x. First time was just wear and tear. The person who replaced it put the fly wheel on backwards! Drove it for 3 years until it just broke. Replaced by another shop who couldn't believe I got three years out of the bad job.
At any rate, this doesn't feel like a clutch-related issue. No slippage feeling or other issues when moving through the gears at higher speeds. But maybe they did a bad job too?
I have a 2012 SE 4 Cylinder Special Edition and just hit 60,000. Lately, I have been noticing this vibrating/shaking in the front of the car when I'm coasting or accelerating at a slow speed. What it could be? I got my front end alignment done thinking it could be that but it still continued.

View 13 RepliesI bought a new toyota camry L# 2013 a month ago. The gas pedal seems very firm and need to really press hard to accelerate. My initial thought was that it being a new one it might be firm and would loosen up gradually. Its been a month and more than 1000+ miles, but the pedal is still very rigid and I am feeling leg pain because of it (I am driving 52 miles to and from work). Not sure if it is common feature or mine is behaving that way.
BTW - I also own 1999 camry and the gas pedal is very smooth and responsive.
My 2005 Elantra is jerking soon after I accelerate. It does not jerk at any other time. It's not a hard jerk. Sometimes it doesn't jerk at all after acceleration. When it does jerk, the rpm jumps up too, and goes back down after the jerk.
I took it to a transmission shop and they checked the fluid and used a diagnostic thing to check the electrical components, all of which were fine. Is there another possible reason for this jerking?
I've got a 2000 Excursion V10. Love it. I bought it, though, with 170k miles on it and I'm going through it and fixing what needs to be fixed.
Looking at the tranny, I can't tell if it needs attention or not. It drives fine, takes off, cruises, all that. The only thing is, when driving I'm going along in 4th, if I let off the gas and then lightly get back on, it'll kind of hesitate. You hear the engine rev up for a split second, then the transmission grabs and the rpms drop back down to normal. Note, the rpms never rev more than 2 or 3 hundred rpm before it grabs again.
The fluid looks red and doesn't smell burned or anything. I just wanna know if I need to start saving my money for a rebuild or not. Also, when the time comes, need to know about Monster transmissions? I plan to buy a reman'd 4R100 from them when the time comes.
Over the last two weeks I've had a couple instances where I'm moving around 30mph and I gently accelerate, you can tell that the engine/transmission is about to downshift and while pushing the accelerator just slightly you can feel the car shutter (not terribly noticeable) not accelerate as well as a noticeable amount of blue smoke will come out of the exhaust. It's happened twice now. After a few seconds the car will return to normal and the smoke stops.
Camry is a 2012 SE, 4cylinder, 31,000 miles. It's had the torque converter software update. No lights on the dash. I've also stopped after this happened and the engine sounded normal, oil level is normal.
