Any pics of the Platypus tow hook mount on their car?
Mounting front license plate somewhere other than the "official" mounting location? I don't like the thought of putting holes in my front bumper. I can move it down a bit such that the holes are in the bumper just above the air opening. So, they would be less noticeable. This would block some of the airflow through the lower opening. But, unless I'm driving in 100+ deg temps, it probably won't matter.
I could also offset it to the right or left in the lower opening.
One of my license plate lights doesn't turn on until I tap it..
What could be causing this? I installed LED's in them but a few months later I noticed this happening.
My Ultra white IS350 is 15 months old, and when I took out the screws to my license plate today, I noticed a little bit of rust on the mounts (where the screws would go into).
I believe this is a pretty common issue for all cars - essentially, the mount was sprayed with body paint, but the paint would be stripped when you put a screw in. It's just a matter of time before that happens.
I am just concerned it would rust through my trunk if I continue to leave it.
FYI: I already use stainless steel screws
I have a 2013 Camry SE and I am experiencing the annoying license plate rattle at the back of the car whenever I shut the trunk or drive over bumps. It's really getting to me as of late?

I know this might not seem important but everytime I slam my trunk the license plate is making contact with the rear so it makes that rattle noise everytime I close it. It's annoying because sometimes I just want to close my trunk without being noticed. Toyota should've made two more holes at the bottom of the plate so this wouldn't happen.
View 10 RepliesWas trying to remove the licenses plate screws today. One comes out easily, the other won't budge. I've sprayed a couple of times with WD40 but its still stuck.
View 14 RepliesI am trying to swap out my stock license plate bulbs on a 2012 Prius.
After getting to the bulb socket holding thing, I have read that you're supposed to turn it 1/4 counterclockwise and pull but mine is stuck and won't turn either way.
02 Camry, how to I remove the burnt license plate bulb? Took off the underside trunk carpet and disconnected bulb harness, but I don't know how to remove the plastic piece that holds the bulb in place. Does it pull out, or twist out? I don't want to break it!
View 1 RepliesFor those people who received a holeless grill in a 2 plate state how did you mount your front plate. I am supposed to have the holeless grill installed this Wednesday. I was thinking about using zip ties and mount it underneath it's original location but I am afraid that I will be blocking the radiator. I could do it by the side grill.

View 2 RepliesI'm looking to hook up some led's using a fuse tap to toggle switch. I'm a little confused on the power wire from the fuse tap to the toggle switch. What type of power wire do I need and what gauge should I get? Only power wires i find have positive and negatives but hat doesnt seem right to me. Also what amp fuse should I add on to handle the led's.

View 3 RepliesSo I bought LED license plate lights, the same ones Track5tar has (who sent me the link to get them). I got em off the bay, and I put them in and they don't work! The Heatsink gets hot but the lights don't light up in both of them!
View 24 RepliesSo I was replacing the lights with the new leds change one toke some pics to compare. Everything fine...
Removed the other feston put the new led and they won't turn on anymore..
Change them back. Put them upside down, up, sideways... Nothing
Check all three fuse boxes all ok
Every other light on, inside trunk on, side markers on...
Everything but the license plate lights.
Bulbs are fine, I turned the light switch from off to on (12 o'clock position) and they flicker for a split second. What can be wrong? I checked the harness on the rear hatch and it looks fine. Maybe the switch itself?
View 2 RepliesSo I took my GTI in for my 10k service and to have them fix the wastegate rattle and the subframe shifting. They fixed the wastegate by installing the clip but didn't have the shims in stock for the subframe so I need to go back anyway, but I'd really like to fix my license plate lights before then.
Is there a possibility the tech could have accidentally unplugged a cable for the lights when he was rotating the tires or messing with the wastegate, etc? Maybe a blown fuse? I'm running LEDs and I already tried putting the incandescent bulbs back in but they don't work either.
After going through the car wash several times now in my 2010 RX 350, my front license plate has been bent in all different directions. Car wash guys say it's due to not having a full plate holder, where as 4 screws secure the plate vs. only the top 2 as we have. Any plate holder from another vehicle that I might adapt to overcome this?
View 14 RepliesHow do I change my license plate bulbs in a 2010 ES350? I bought some 194 JDM Astar LEDs. I took off liner and changed backup bulbs but can't figure out how to change license plate bulbs.
View 4 RepliesI plan to remove the front license holder from my car, fill the holes, and paint/clear coat/sand them. Any recommendation as to what to fill the holes with (I'm not going to use a plug.) Exactly what the bumper cover is made of, I can find the right material to bond to it.
