What is the tire pressure that will trigger the TPMS to activate the warning light on the dash? I had 31psi in my left front and got no warning?

I checked all tires and the pressure is 35 PSI but the warning light is still on, how to turn it of or reset it?
So tonight I'm driving on I-80 and all of a sudden I hear a thud, the TPMS light comes on and a warning of low tire pressure. I get out to take a lot and the rear left tire is practically flat. Changing the tire was pretty easy once I figured out where everything was in the tray.
So now I'm in the market for a replacement tire as there was a huge hole in tread. I have a about 3000 miles on the car. Would you get a replacement tire that is the same make/model as the rest of the tires, or would you simply get a cheaper replacement? Once I am ready to replace the rest of the tires, I'm not sure if I would replace them with the OEM make/model anyway. At the same time I'm not sure how long the OEM's will last.
The Tire Pressure Warning System display on my XLE hybrid shows icons for four tires in a horizontal row with the pressure readings beneath each icon. The icons are not arranged in the logical layout of two by two. There is no indication to which tire an icon corresponds. In other words, if the display indicates low pressure beneath one of the four icons in the horizontal row, you do not know to which tire the icon corresponds.
View 14 RepliesEver since I bought my 04 V8, the TPMS warning light has been on due to dead sensors and a disconnected controller (G model controller), and I had just learned to live with the alert and the icon on the display for the time being. Last weekend I installed a 6 button cruise control switch and recoded per Michael's instructions. The switch works fine and everything was good. After a couple of drives with the new switch I noticed that the TPMS was not giving me the usual failure message or the fault icon anymore. If I hit the Vehicle button I still get the same fault message in the J523 screen but no warning in the cluster, and no warning upon startup. Ran a VCDS scan and the errors for the TPMS module not being there are still present as they always were.
View 4 RepliesI just purchased a 2014.5 Camry and winter is around the corner. I was going to buy a set of oem 17in SE rims and put snow tires on with out the tpms sensors. The question I have to ask is once the light comes on can you disable the traction control. Reason I ask is because on my 2011 accord it forces the traction control on and is sucks. Snow tires without the sensors.
View 5 RepliesI own a 2012 Camry and i just upgraded from the 17 inch to the 18 inch sport wheels. Do the tmps sensors have to be recalibrated because i get no readings. I thought the car should pick up on its own and show me tire pressure. The wheels came from a 2013 Camry.
View 6 RepliesAbout four days ago my TPMS warning light started blinking. Same tires and sensors have been on there for quite some time. The service book says to take it to the dealer, but I instead stopped by Discount Tire (where I purchased the tires) to see if they could look and figure out which sensor was acting up.
When he ran his sensor, none of my four sensors showed up as broadcasting at all! Now I know that all four of my sensors did not just randomly go out at the same time.
I recently installed takeoff 2017 factory 18" wheel/tire combo on my 2008 F250 to replace the 17" steelies. Didn't even know it had a TPMS system. Light never came on in 10 years of driving. After installing and airing up to 70psi, the TPMS warning light came on. Checked pressures, all good. I'm guessing that the new 18's have different sensors than the 2008 17's. 08 has the rim mounted green rectangular style. Don't know what the 2017's are as the tires were never taken off the rims. What do I have to do to get the new sensors to work?

View 8 RepliesI just got st coils and apr stg1 software put in my car and love it. the question i have is the other day my tpms light came on, so when the guys installed my software (today) the tried to set the pressures and clear the light and it wont go off i want to take it to the dealer but I don't want them to give me a hard time about the mods.
View 3 RepliesFirst cold day of the year today and naturally my TPMS light came on. Checked the pressures with my own gauge, all at 34 psi. Inflated them all to 38psi and the TPMS light is still on. Drove a little ways - still on. Checked pressures again - still 38psi. I had this happen once before in mid-winter two years ago and I can't remember what I had to do to reset the TPMS light. Mine isn't one of the ABS/ESP systems so I don't have a reset button - I need to do something with the VAGCOM but I don't recall what.
What's weird is that the TPMS threshold should be 7psi per wheel shouldn't it? And my light came on when it was only 4psi down. Is there somewhere I can check and find out what the ECU thinks the threshold is - again with my VAGCOM?

I can't find the button to reset the TPMS light on my dash. It's not even in the glove compartment.
View 7 RepliesThis will be my first winter using a dedicated set of winter tires and wheels on my 09 Camry. The set doesn't have TPMS sensors. Will the TPMS light constantly flash or just stay lit when the system doesn't detect the sensors? I could live with the light always lit but if it flashes it will be annoying.
View 14 RepliesI bought a used certified 2012 Toyota Camry LE with 6000 miles on it directly from the main and larger Toyota dealer two weeks ago, I chose to get original tires inflated with nitrogen which is a service provided by dealer.
Right now I'm realizing that the display screen is not showing me the tires at all, just the trip and gas consumption stats.
Before taking the car to dealer and get in line is there a way system may be reset so tires and of course pressure data are properly displayed?
My 2010 Premier Mountaineer apparently has pressure sensors, because i am getting a warning on the dash. They were down about 4 lbs all the way around, so I topped em off. But, the warning still comes back.
View 9 RepliesI had the low tire pressure message and light come on back when i was visiting california, about 3 weeks ago..i checked the tire pressure, and a couple tires were maybe 5 psi low at the most.. i aired them back up to the right pressure (as stated on the door pillar sticker) and the damned light/message is still coming on.. how do I reset the TPMS? it says in the manual to just drive the truck 20mph+ for about 2 mins after getting the tire pressure correct, and the light/message should turn off. i have done that...

The dashboard computer says that the tire pressure in the front right tire is 17 psi, but when I use the pressure gauge, the reading is almost 40 psi. Is this something I should be concerned about? What could be causing this problem?
