Or am I just missing it? Seems kind of crazy that you have to adjust the volume for the radio and navigation separately, with no option to control both at the same. This is on a 2013 SE with the non-hdd setup.
View 5 RepliesI have a 2012 Camry LE and I always use bluetooth connectivity between my iPhone 6S and the car. I use an online radio app called "Tambura" (similar to pandora but something which caters to Indian Hindi songs). Now I also use my phone as a GPS navigation device on need basis. The problem I am facing is that, whenever I am listening to music using the radio app in my camry's speakers with volume on around 15-20, whenever the Google maps voice says something like "take next exit" or whatever, it is almost inaudible. I expect the sound to be on same level as my music but that does not happen.
View 3 RepliesI have a 2012 toyota camry with the JBL system. i replaced one of my factory door woofers with a aftermarket one. i cranked the volume up to the loudest, and then suddenly all the sounds going to all my speakers went dead.
I tried checking all the fuses that i saw said "Audio system" in both my engine bay and my driver instrument. Nothing was burnt out. even tried disconnecting the battery.
When i try to turn up or turn down the volume, no numbers show up. (showing which volume setting its at) its just blank.
Even tried the steering wheel volume control. I really don't know what else to check.
The other day I used the Navigation system because of a city area with a lot of one way streets. I don't used the navigation system very much. It was then that I notice that when the voice spoke, the radio, running in the background, stayed on causing an overlap.
Is there any setting I can use that would mute the radio when the Navigation voice speaks, then put the radio back on after directions have been spoken?
How to turn off automatic volume control on a 2012 Toyota Avalon with no navigation unit. I just purchased this Avalon and noticed this morning as I drove and listened to music that the volume keeps going up and down as I accelerate and decelerate. I cannot find anything in my owners manual on how to turn off the automatic volume control.
View 2 RepliesI bought, new, a 2012 Camry back in 2012. I got the satellite radio option. The reception with satellite is horrible. On the clearest of days, I lose signal all the time making it useless trying to listen to it.
Yes, I understand vegetation can hinder reception. But, it shouldn't to this extent. Not long after I bought the Camry, I purchased a 2010 Ford Fusion. It, too, had satellite radio.
I think, in the 2 years I had the Fusion, I lost signal 2 times. On the cloudiest, foggiest, snowiest, and raniest of days, the Fusion never lost sat signal.
I had the dealer check out the system and they found nothing wrong. I've let my subscription to Sirius expire since I can't even get a decent signal. Is this typical of the satellite radio with Camry's???
2012 Camry SE w/ XM radio. My radio cuts out every time a spec of dust happens to float by the antenna. In other words, it's range is absolutely atrocious.
I love everything else about the car, and maybe this is picky, but man is it annoying to have constant cutout while listening to satellite. Now granted, some of my ride to and from work is tree covered, but mainly on one side of the street and I've owned other cars where this wasn't a problem. And maybe it's magnified due to the stupid static-like sound that Toyota built into the radio every time the signal is lost.
Issues with your sync/radio that in the lower right corner it says to "connection error-see delear"?
My controls on my steering wheel will no longer change the channel or adjust the volume. When it does change the channel it goes crazy and changes multiple channels.
I have also noticed my GPS arrow seems to drift off the road I'm traveling on and then will jump back to where I'm driving.
My completely un-modified fully-loaded V6 Camry SE is currently in the shop getting the brake actuator assembly changed after almost a YEAR of these lights randomly coming on. There was no rhyme or reason. I'm a tad OCD so if there was a pattern,I'd have found it. Never came on to where they could test it. Said they could do nothing until they saw them. I took photos, but they acted like they'd never seen it before. Finally, as I was just ready to pass the dealership, they came on. I pulled in and they checked and said the lights came on right when I "was going 4mph, on an angled curve with my foot on the brake!"
And after an hour and a half said I needed to leave the car, gave me a warranty rental, and said they'd call me. I called them to learn it was the actuator assembly that was going to be replaced and one would be overnighted in. So I have a 4-cyl rental without all of my perks, like the moonroof, the heated seats, the automatic rear view mirror, back up camera.....what a difference! I'm spoiled after 19 months of my Camry! Oh, and when I first got it, there was a bad musty odor from the a/c vents every time I turned it on. I bought it with 55 miles on it...they said "all Toyotas do that."
I said this is my 3rd Toyota in a row, and I ah do one in the past. Oh, "brand new Toyotas," they said. My corolla was 6months old when I bought it. After 2 years, I traded it in for a brand new FJ Cruiser, then traded that in 6 years later for this brand new Camry. Nothing! Finally, I get a notice in the mail from Toyota re: a/c condenser pan overfills, not draining, and can cause airbag problem! was that stench water in the pan, seeping in through the vents smelling like a dirty rag not enough of an explanation that something was wrong. We had to wait until it could have been an airbag issue? Yikes! Happy that took care of the problem and my new car smell was back in no time. How it goes with the lights!
So I found a guy selling an OEM Part # 86100-06040 navigation for cheap. Is it as simple as plug and play for switching it out on my 2013 Non Navigation Carmy Hybrid? Does all the steering wheel controls are there?
View 13 RepliesI have a 2005 Toyota Matrix. The radio volume control knob does not change the volume. The volume is just constantly stuck at a set volume (luckily a reasonably soft one). I pulled the knob plastic cap off and sprayed some contact cleaner in there but nothing changed. What caused this problem and what I can try? I have taken the radio out and opened it (changed led bulbs) before so I feel comfortable doing that and tinkering around.
View 6 RepliesI have a 2010 Prius and I noticed for the first time today that the volume control knob stopped responding when I twisted it. I turned off the radio off then back on and it appeared to be working again.
My car has about 41,000 miles on it so I'm not sure if the warranty is still applicable.
Is there a possibility of the radio itself overheating causing this issue. I experienced this the other day, was driving around and the volume control on the radio no longer worked. Could turn it off and all other functions worked but the volume could only be changed from the tracer buttons on the steering wheel. Shutting the car off and back on worked but for how long? Seems that this should be a recall since several owners have experienced this issue with the jbl stereo.
View 7 RepliesI noticed since day one that my 2014 PiP radio is more static than my 2006 Prius. I also noticed that when I started moving in ev only, the radio volume level would drop. Well, I never really thought about it why till I got LED headlights. Now, the static is worst due to RF interference from the LED. So, it looks like there were more interference due to the ev electrical system. With the LED headlight, it made it worst. I have put a choke on the leads of the headlight, but it does nothing.
View 12 RepliesNo audio on 2001 Toyota Echo radio. Volume control never stops when rotated. Radio lights up, showing station frequencies as I change stations. My conclusion is Power-Volume switch is shot and needs to be replaced. Sound logical? Is it a big problem to remove radio and change the switch?
View 2 RepliesOk, so I got the car, and had been trying to sync my phone contact (samsung s3) since the first day, everytime i try to sync, they would only upload one contact and that is my phone number. I have been reading around and tried almost everything, turn phone off, restart etc.
The reason for it is, I save my phone contact to sim card and not on the phone itself, so I believed the car only sync with the phone and not the sim, so try to move your contact to the phone and let it sync.
I have an 09 Camry LE. When driving, the volume is consistent until I begin braking. It then lowers the volume itself. When I accelerate, it ramps back up.
Also on the highway, the bass is excessive. I usually turn it down to -1 or -2 depending on the track. The car is completely stock. I've had the car for a few weeks now.
This is the only factor that may lead to me replacing the stock radio. I don't want too, but if this problem can be solved by that, than I will.
Just like the title says, looking to swap in a Nav unit onto my dads 2002 Camry. I've done stereo swaps and all, just looking for some info on how it'd work with the JBL speakers. Do I need to get a JBL compatible stereo?

i am having problem that all the buttons and the touch screen not working at al inspite the car is still new 2015
but the buttons on the steering can still control the colume and the radio !!
So I have noticed that i get a lot of rattle in the back when the volume is cranked up, i never had this issue before when the car was new, now all of a sudden it sounds like a cracking, or somethings loose in the back and if I blast music all I hear in the back is the rattle/loose/metal on metal contact noise.
View 1 RepliesI own a 2012 Camry Hybrid XLE, but I'd imagine this issue could exist w/ any trim. Hear a slight crinkle/rattle from time to time coming from your headliner area? At times it almost sounds like someone padded your headliner with a plastic grocery bag.
I usually heard it on bumpy roads. I went through a nightmare with my dealer where they had my car for about 40 days trying to figure out the cause. They even replaced the headliner! (they did a lousy job too, w/ lots of oil smudges and scratches on my plastics)
Discovered the real cause of rattle. The sound actually comes from where the sun visor meets the headliner. The white plastic socket (pictured) where the sun visor plugs in has some wiggle room. When the car vibrates (be it from a bumpy road or what have you) it can slide against the interior cut out of the headliner. This makes an obnoxious crinkling sound.
At the moment I'm driving around with no sun visor on the passenger side-- and I also have no rattle (occasionally I might hear it from the driver side sun visor, but it's minor). I'll probably add some foam up there to add some more tension to alleviate the issue completely. Even just re-seating the sun visor and ensuring the screws are tight would probably have significant impact...
