Getting a squeak when they open the trunk of their camry? it is really annoying. I have sprayed on a lot of armor all and the dealer said they could not replicate, which I find difficult to believe. When you release the trunk from the inside, you walk back and you hear the squeaking on the driver side as you walk back.
View 1 RepliesI can open all the doors if I press the unlock button on the driver's side. However, suddenly, the remote (both remotes) will unlock only the driver's door & the trunk, but not the passenger & rear doors.
Locking the door manually with the key did nothing. We just replaced the car's battery (it's been 5 years), but that didn't solve the problem with the keyless entry remote. One of the remotes is rarely used (1x/week), so I'd be astonished if both keyless entry remotes needed batteries at the same second.
Have had the '13 SE 2.0 for a week. Wife said there was a squeak ?? I drove it today. Seems to be from front passenger side..
View 14 RepliesOn the passenger side where the door opens up the paint seems to be scraping off... It's pretty noticeable on my black car. It's only this one side.. The door doesn't touch that piece so I'm not sure what caused it.
View 8 RepliesI have a 2013 Hyundai Elenatra 7 months old. the trunk opens by itself very often. I asked at the service department at the dealership and they say never heard of this problem. Also I came out yesterday the battery was dead even thought nothing was left on. I fell there must be some electrical or switching problem with this car.
View 4 RepliesI've had the car since the end of April. About 8 or 9 times I've had people come into my office and tell me that my truck is open.
If you own one of these you know that the word "hair trigger" does not come to mind with opening the truck remotely. You have to purposely work the trunk button. I really don't thinks it's because I sat on the key fob or bumped it so it accidentally opened the trunk.
As you can imagine I keep valuable things in my trunk so this is not good.
I have a 2013 XLE V6 and the trunk no longer sits evenly. Where the lights meet at the back of the car the trunk lights stick out about 1/2 inch further than the quarter panel lights and the gap on the right side is much bigger than the left.
I swear I have not had any accidents or issues hauling anything that would have torqued this out of whack.
The trunk of my 2013 Elantra GLS pops open randomly when the car is parked, unoccupied, and I am well away from it. This happens about once every week or ten days. Last night it popped open during a heavy rain and the trunk was soaked. I can not trust the trunk as a safe place for anything of value. I suspected at first that the remote was doing this by somehow getting squeezed in my pants pocket, but I can not cause it to replicate this by pressing on the pants pocket or squeezing the remote against the key or a pocket comb or such. I have considered abandoning the remote but with no trunk key that is very inconvenient.

View 10 RepliesI'm trying to remove the trunk liner on my new 2013 Camry SE to get to the brake wiring so I can install a 4-pin trailer connector for my bike rack. My bike totally block the taillights when loaded, so I need some repeaters on the rack.
I removed a half-dozen push pins. There appears to be two plastic anchor hooks, one on each side of the trunk for a cargo net or something.
In addition, I removed some push-pins from the plastic trunk threshold, but it is still attached underneath. Are there pins molded into the panel on the back side or some sort of captivating device?
My wife owns a 2013 Camry XLE Hybrid. The map lights do not come on when the remote is activated or either front door is opened or closed. the owners manual says it is an option that can be programmed at the dealership. when I took her car in for its first 5,000 mile check up the service advisor said both he and the technician tried to do it and looked it up to see where it would show them how but they were not successful. Is this something the dealer can program in?

The remote works fine because I can hear the noise of when it's suppose to open and it locks the doors fine but it just doesn't open the trunk.
View 6 RepliesI have a 2002 civic. The key fob only opens or locks the passenger side doors but not the driver side doors. Worse still, the key does not work in the lock so I have to use the fob to open the passenger side and climb in to open my drivers door. Having said that the key won't open the door lock, it will do only occasionally. I might try it 20 times with no luck and on the next attempt it opens it as if there was never a problem in the first place... My priority is to get the fob to operate all of the doors. I have tried the simple things like changing the battery of the fob and resetting the key.
View 3 RepliesI have a 2013 ES350 with 56k miles. Key fob opens and locks all doors except the driver door. I called the Lexus dealer in town and they said its probably the door lock acuator that needs to be replaced. It's out of warranty since it's over 50k miles. Is it possible to replace this yourself or is there some kind of recall for this. The car is only two years old and it seems ridiculous that something like this would already go out on a Lexus.
View 9 RepliesI recently had battery go dead from just setting, not being used. Battery now charged and working fine, however as a result, when I push the Keyfob the drivers side door opens. When I push the second time to open remaining doors, I hear a click, but the doors do not open.
View 5 RepliesI can't find in the owners manual where It explains about the bells with exiting our 2013 SE V6. Sometimes I hold the brake pedal and hit the start/stop button to shut off the engine, sometimes I don't hold the brake pedal and hit the start/stop button to shut off the engine. Sometimes I do either of those methods and the Wife opens the passenger door, sometimes she isn't with me and just the driver door opens. What happens is sometimes when I open the driver door a bell chimes.........ding, ding, ding. Sometimes it doesn't chime. I'm just trying to figure out what this intermittent chiming is all about?????? Is it a warning, a notification and if a notification what is it notifying us about?

Recently had the recall done for the passenger seat sensor, but I can't recall if I exercised the windows after. Anyhow, today my 97 F150 XLT became possessed and the DS window started coming down by itself at random. Make for an exciting ride when the weather is in the teens!
My first thought was the wires at the door but it's been too cold to dig into it today. Will look when it warms up a bit. I need to pull out the manuals but don't think the PW should go through the GEM?
Wash the car today, unfortunately found the driver side doorsill start to have some rust, and luckily the rust only found at he driver side doorsill rest doorsill looks fine.
Don't know what to do now, get it painted? or just grease it will keep rust from spreading?
I opened the door yesterday, got out of the car, then when I got back in the door wouldn't close. I did end up getting it closed but it took a lot of force and there was major resistance. When I got out, there was no resistance top open about a foot opening, just enough to squeeze out. Any more than that and I would have needed a lot of force to get it open.

In comparison, my 2012 Corolla LE was built in Japan and was just as quiet as a mouse inside.
This is the only rattle. So small and so persistent. It comes and goes, sometimes lasting an hour, but when it is gone it is definitely gone.
I can tap on the panels, open and shut the door, run the window up and down and yet it continues to rattle. Then, all on its own, it disappears. Sometimes for days without making a peep or a squeak.
It is not the Seat belt, nor is it anything attached to the seat belt. (If anything should be rattling it should be at the seat belt pillar adjustment).
