I have heard that there is a way to program the FOB so that when you hold down the UNLOCK key for a few seconds the windows and sunroof opens.
is there a way to program this ourselves? Or is this only available at the dealer, and if so, will there be a cost associated with it?
My IS has the feature where I can open all of the windows and the sunroof by holding the remote unlock button which has come in real handy during this extended heat wave in the Midwest. But, I can't find out whether or not this feature is on my 2012 LS 460.
View 6 RepliesToyota camry SE 2012. The sunroof is stuck on the open position. It is fully open and the motor does not make any noise. The fuse is ok. Nothing seems stuck on the track just from a quick glance. I am hoping to find a way to manually close it if it is possible.
View 2 RepliesA couple weeks ago I went home sick from work, doped up on medication. We ran through the drive through for dinner, and it was really cold out. Woke up in the morning to find ALL my windows down and the sunroof open.......and it snowed about 1/4 inch. My wife went with me and she was sober, and swears that all the windows were up when we went in the house. Now, I am at work and had a customer come in and tell me that my windows were down, and the sunroof was open half way. This time I KNOW FOR A FACT that they were up and the sunroof was closed when I parked it.

View 2 RepliesI get the worst wind buffeting (loud whooshing and terrible pressure) when driving with the sunroof open with all the windows completely up. And just yesterday I realized the roof opens up fully with some additional pressure (surprisingly hard pressure) after the lever is turned and I get the most unbelievable eardrum crushing pressure/ noise until I crack a window or two. I'm not kidding, its unbearable at pretty low speeds.
This seems like a serious design flaw (and should have been tested and corrected) not to mention extremely annoying as I can't use the sunroof without opening the windows.

View 3 RepliesI bought a 2008 Camry SE V6 in June. So far, nice car. I even made a point to find an SE with a sunroof. However, the sunroof rattles when it's open. Of course it does. Full open or halfway open does not change the rattle much.
I've been researching this problem online since June, and I am not finding any definitive answers on how to stop the rattle.
My 2007 Camry has developed a loud popping noise when sliding the sunroof open. It's as though the sunroof is getting caught under the vehicle roof before it moves to slide open. The motor labors pushing the sunroof past vehicle roof. I see no obvious obstruction. The sunroof makes no noise when going to the tilt position. I have tried the initialize process, but the problem persists.

How to get it to close until I can take it to the dealership? The only way it stopped is after I turned the car off and now its halfway open.
View 2 RepliesI was talking to a coworker of mine this morning about the unseasonably cold weather we have been having in Atlanta the last few days, and she said that she left her sunroof open during a storm that we had the other day and now her heated seats aren't working. She has an XLE with leather heated seats. Blew a fuse perhaps? Or possibly destroyed the heating mechanism? Or maybe just the switch itself? Both seats are not working. The clock, radio, nav, etc are all working so its not the fuse. Also, the lights on the switches themselves are working so they seem to be ok.

View 9 RepliesIt seems that many 2012/2013 Camry owner with sunroof has popping sound issue. Based on reading threads that are already out there it either happens right away or after 10,000+ miles of ownership when outdoor temp gets cold or driving over a bump. What is not clear is, too me, if this issue happens to majority of Camry owner with sunroof or minority. I for one own a 2013 Camry with sunroof with almost 3000 miles on it but I do not have this issue. Was wondering if Camry owner with sunroof can chime here whether or you have this issue and how many miles you have on the vehicle. What percentage of Camry with sunroof are having this issue.
View 14 Replies2014 Camry XLE. When you press the close button, sometimes the sunroof will make it about halfway and then go back open. However, if you press the close button quickly several times and sort of shimmy the sunroof closed, it will close. Nothing is obstructing it.

View 14 RepliesI've taken my Camry in several times (service and warranty issues). One of the issues was a squeaking noise coming from the sunroof area. It was driving me crazy especially with the weather changing it was a lot more noticeable. I took it in and they said they fixed the problem by adding insulation to the roof. Well, the noise was still there. I took it again today and the Master Technician came out and wanted me to show him what I was talking about.
We went for a short ride around the dealer parking lot. He heard the noise and told me to drive to the detailing area. He then proceeded to get a paper towel with some cleaner and wiped the metal opening around the sunroof area and the black seal on the sunroof. He then got another paper towel and put some sort of lubricant and voila the squeaking noise is gone! I keep my car very clean and wipe down the sunroof area every time I wash my car. He said to go ahead and put some type of protectant (Meguiars) so it keeps the rubber moist.
I thought it was something serious with my sunroof turned out to be a very simple applying of protectant to a piece of rubber.
It rained really hard yesterday. This evening I got in my car and the windows were all wet on the inside. While I believe some moisture is normal this was ridiculous. Where to check/look or what it could be. I checked the sunroof and under all the floor mats (not under the carpet; just mats)..

View 9 RepliesI first noticed that the sunroof was making scratching noises when I opened and closed it then finally noticed the plastic on one side had just fallen out. I put it back, but it just eventually falls out again.
5 pictures included. Two show the plastic completely out. The other 3 show how it usually is with most of the plastic in the center attached, but the edges hanging out a bit.
