How to activate the power trunk release on a 2012 Camry L series? My car came with dealer remotes that don't have a button for the rear trunk lock which I saw is in the vehicle when I added the trunk spoiler. It would be nice not to have to open the DS door and pull the trunk release lever to open the trunk all the time....
View 5 RepliesHave this problem? 500 miles out of warranty and my trunk release lever is broken. The button on the remote still works, but the lever on the floor has no tension on it. It feels like the cable either broke or is no longer attached to the lever.

View 9 RepliesBasically, with my phone paired to my entune system via bluetooth, at times, the system doesn't understand how I'm asking to make a call, especially with people I call on a normal basis (like my fiance). for example, I'll say, "Call [Bob Harper]" and then it'll ask me which of the following did I mean to say. One possible name it'll bring for would be "[Joe Smith]" which sounds nothing like the name I told to call. I understand voice dialing isn't perfect, but most of the time, it's not dialing the person I want to call. Maybe it's the way I'm speaking into the mic.
View 8 RepliesI have a 2000 v6 glx passat. CCM recently got fried, brought to dealer and got replaced, they fixed all the leaks. I go to open with trunk with the remote and it doesn't work, so i go to the cabin and use the switch located at the bottom of the drivers door and that doesn't work either. I hear a clicking in the fuse box so i looked around and fuse 38 clicks when ever i hit the trunk release button, fuse is fine, replaced with another one too, trunk opens with key manually. when fuse 38 is removed, trunk still doesn't open remotely or with button but the clicking stops.

View 11 RepliesThe following have stopped working (at the same time if I remember correctly): power door locks, power mirrors, power trunk release and rear defroster. We are also getting a tire pressure fault warning when the tire pressure is ok. As far as other items located on the drivers door, the power seat adjustment and power windows are still working. I checked every fuse in the interior box and the the rely ant fuses unde the hood. I exchanged the big, square, grey fuse for the rear defroster with the one for the starter and still no luck with that issue.
View 5 RepliesI took a curve pretty aggressively with my worn out tires. I was neither braking nor accelerating. The skid control icon flashed a few times, but there was no beeping. I am pretty sure the flashing was from VSC activation. I thought this is accompanied with beeping from the buzzer. Has this been changed for the newer models?

View 9 RepliesI have a 2013 XLE V6 and the trunk no longer sits evenly. Where the lights meet at the back of the car the trunk lights stick out about 1/2 inch further than the quarter panel lights and the gap on the right side is much bigger than the left.
I swear I have not had any accidents or issues hauling anything that would have torqued this out of whack.
Where they've hidden the switch that turns the trunk light on--and the switch that lights up the instrument panel warning light that the trunk is open, and that causes that annoying bleating when you're driving with the trunk unlatched?
I have a 10' kayak that I slide into the trunk for a 1/2 mile drive down my private road to the dock and I'm sick of listening to that warning beep--hoping I can put tape over the switch or something to shut it up.
I just bought a 2012 toyota camry se with smart key. The trunk button on the remote opens the trunk, but the smart key button on the trunk lid does not open the trunk. I found a brown module unplugged the the left of the seat release handles in the trunk, I checked the wiring to the switch on the trunk lid.

To make things a little more confusing is that the car does not auto lock if the trunk is closed, I know this because when I get to work I never lock my doors. The first time the car locked with the trunk open I thought I must have accidentally hit the lock button on the key, but I have tested this with the key left in the house.
View 14 RepliesI was moving something this weekend and could not close the trunk all the way. The trunk / door open alarm was beeping the whole time. I was only driving 10 minutes or I swear I would have ripped the stupid thing out of the car somehow !!!!!!
Can this beep / alarm be disabled or set to turn off after 30 seconds like the seatbelt chime?
When i go over bumps at slow speed (such as speed bumps) i hear a rattle in the trunk like something is loose. Its a deep sound like ceramic plate or a brake rotor kinda flopping around back there (not plastic creaks). Sounds almost exactly like a loose spare tire or something. So i checked it, and it was tight. Sound still there. so then i jsut removed everything, jack/tools and spare tires. Sound still there. So then i ran with both the seats down, and up in the locked positions. Def more noticable with the seats down.
It doent seem to make the noise on small sharp bumps when im on the freeway. Usually only rolling slowly (less then 15mph) over large bumps and when the suspension comes back down in rattles. I plan on bringing the car in when my work weeks over, but im wondering if theres anything else i can check in teh trunk area that might be rattleing around.
I owned my Advanced model PIP for about 4 months now. I recently found out that the AC climate control in my entune app in my iphone doesn't work. Whenever I tried to turn it on, it takes more than 1 min, then finally shows "Climate activation was not successful Please try again". All other apps such as vehicle finder, charger management work well.
View 9 RepliesMost of the sedans I've owned in the last 25 years had a way to prevent the trunk from being unlocked from the inside without the non-Valet key. Sometimes it would be by turning the trunk lock in a particular way, or there might be a way to disconnect the passenger compartment lever with the non Valet key.
On this base model Camry however, it seems the trunk will always unlock with the hand lever, and the valet key is only for keeping the glove box locked. Is this right?
There's this 99 b5 sedan at my local junkyard with wheel locks on and I need to get into the trunk to see if the key is in it. all four doors are unlocked, no key, no battery.
is there a way to get into the trunk from the rear seat and trip a manual trunk release?
2012 SE 4 cylinder. Noticed the other day a humming noise from under the rear trunk area, maybe an evap test, seemed to be running for several minutes, I did key on/off and it shut off. How often does this run, is it a battery drainer?

One thing I've found kind of odd is that I have a bit of a hard time closing the trunk. In most other cars I've had just pressing the trunk down gently will latch it (even if not fully closed) and it doesn't take much force at all to fully close. On my Camry, though, I feel like I have to slam it down pretty hard to get it to latch.
I have a 2013 Camry SE and I am experiencing the annoying license plate rattle at the back of the car whenever I shut the trunk or drive over bumps. It's really getting to me as of late?
