On the passenger side where the door opens up the paint seems to be scraping off... It's pretty noticeable on my black car. It's only this one side.. The door doesn't touch that piece so I'm not sure what caused it.
View 8 RepliesAfter getting my car washed on Friday I noticed that the key fob no longer opens the passenger door. It used to be that pressing the unlock button twice would open both doors. Is it possible that some combination of buttons or something caused this to stop working? The button in the door unlocks the passenger door just fine.
View 17 RepliesI made an appointment with the stealership on Monday morning to take a look at my passenger side door. I took a long trip (600 miles roundtrip) and noticed a buzzing/rattling noise when I was going faster than 65-70 miles an hour on the interstate. And on top of that, when I play songs with a heavy, flat bass, the door gets a very noticeable rattle. When the bass punches, it's fine, but not so much otherwise.
View 3 RepliesI have been noticing this problem more frequently. It's been about 2 months that I noticed the car is doing this.
I would typically touch the door handle to lock the car, (hear the beep) and sometimes I use the remote at a distance to make sure I did not forget to lock it. But after I return to the car, I usually go to the trunk, to put away my briefcase, (without pressing any button). After closing the trunk, and going to the driver side passenger door(its unlocked) (no beeping sound or anything)
I have made sure several times (clicking the button several times) that I indeed locked the car. but it's unlocked. I have tested the auto lock feature on my car (locking, then unlocking without opening doors, yes it automatically locks the doors after 60 seconds).
Getting a squeak when they open the trunk of their camry? it is really annoying. I have sprayed on a lot of armor all and the dealer said they could not replicate, which I find difficult to believe. When you release the trunk from the inside, you walk back and you hear the squeaking on the driver side as you walk back.
View 1 RepliesLess than a week ago I bought a 2002 Subaru impreza outback sport. Fun little car. However two days after I bought it I started to notice a noise coming from the back passenger side of the car. It sounds sort of like scrapping a plastic fork against metal. I have looked everywhere for anything that could be making the noise, as it seems to be coming from inside the car. IT also seems to get worse the longer I drive. I commute to work, and so for the first 10 minutes it's silent, then gets louder and louder, by the time I get to work its noticeably loud.
View 2 RepliesI have a 2002 civic. The key fob only opens or locks the passenger side doors but not the driver side doors. Worse still, the key does not work in the lock so I have to use the fob to open the passenger side and climb in to open my drivers door. Having said that the key won't open the door lock, it will do only occasionally. I might try it 20 times with no luck and on the next attempt it opens it as if there was never a problem in the first place... My priority is to get the fob to operate all of the doors. I have tried the simple things like changing the battery of the fob and resetting the key.
View 3 RepliesPassenger door on my 93. I took some pix to try to figure out what was going on and what I'm dealing with because I'm basically having to go in blind. The door opens from the inside but won't from the outside. Awhile back it was becoming difficult to open from the outside, like you really had to give it a solid tug to get the door to open. Now it won't open from the outside at all. I noticed today that the handle is a little loose and I found out why once I looked in there: there is only 1 bolt holding the handle on instead of 2 (not sure how that could possibly be causing my problem???) For now I pushed the door panel back on and shut the door (minus screws/bolts/plates) because I'd like to figure this out soon!

First day that is below freezing and my rear passenger driver side door is hard to open more than half way. I really have to push it to open all the way. How to fix this?
View 11 RepliesI never seen this before. Today I was driving on the freeway. I then heard a loud "pluck" noise as if a rock hit my car. When I got home, I saw this bulge popping out on my right passenger rear door. It looks like it's swollen.
It doesn't look like a rock hit the car though. Otherwise, it would have been a dent inwards with paint chipped. It's really close to the rear passenger door speaker too. I wonder if something in the speaker popped and made a bulge like that outwards.
The wizards that painted the entire passenger side of my 2003 Passat have left me with a rear door that takes a few handle pumps to open, particularly when it has been a few minutes between tries. What is the cause of this? Is this a hinge issue or something else?

View 15 RepliesI have a 2012 Forester. When I open the passenger side door first thing in the morning to put my stuff in the car and then close the door - there is a loud metallic noise. It is not repeatable at that time.When I open the driver's side door after work (or about 8 hrs after the first time in the morning) and sit in the car, I get the same noise. Again, it is not repeatable at that time.The dealer says, they cannot recreate the noise but I am getting it regularly every day.I live in Central Texas, the Forester is in the garage at my house and in the garage at work.I am currently at 27,500 miles.
View 19 RepliesI am new to Toyotas and recently inherited a 94 Camry. When the door opens a chime starts and does not go off until the door is shut. Looking at a wiring diagram it appears that only the courtesy light operates off the door switch.
View 4 RepliesMy wife and I noticed that our passenger side wheels, both of them, are flaking paint... We've got an early VIN '04 Touareg. We're fixing to take it in for 10K maintenance. We are not avid off-roaders, however we HAVE gone off-roading twice with it and I'm sure hoping that isn't why the paint is flaking.
View 12 RepliesI thought I was out of the woods on this. It looked like water was coming from the HVAC, and I haven't seen any moisture up front for a while. I did find a problem leading to the wet rear cargo area; there was a small crack in the paint on the passenger side gutter, almost back by the hatch hinge area. I noticed a pinhole sized area that appeared discolored, as though water had been involved. Sealed that with some 3M Crystal Clear sealant about a month ago, and it's been dry ever since.
Last weekend, it rained heavily, and I went out the morning after it rained and checked the passenger footwell again. Bone dry, so yippee, right? Nope. I start up and when I move, I heard water sloshing, then saw a small flood run down the carpet next to the passenger kick plate. I mopped up, but what could be holding so much water that I could hear it? Is there a tray that might be clogged under the cowl on the passenger side?
I installed a DDM HID Kit for about two weeks week this morning the passenger side didn't come on. I have to turn off the light and turn it back on for the passenger side to come on and went it did it was slowly turning on took like 15 second to fully turn on. I have a relay harness. Do I have a bad bulb or a ballast should i try switching the bulbs?
View 9 RepliesBlack paint flaking off the mufflers. I was hosing the car off I hosed the black part of the mufflers and paint started coming off. Looks like hell now. I plan on cleaning them up and putting a few coats of flat black grill or high temp paint on them.
View 5 RepliesI was out and about yesterday running errands and I had to parallel park my car. Well, I got in my spot fine and I was sitting in my car getting some packages ready to be dropped off at the post office. About a minute, after I parked, I saw someone attempting to park in the spot in front of me and she couldn't do it. She attempted it 5 times, all while I'm sitting in my car, worried that she's going to hit my car.
So on what was her last attempt, she backed up dangerously close to my car causing me to reverse further, forgetting that there was a high curb next to me. I gave it a little too much gas and I scratched the crap (4 inch x 1 inch) out of my bumper/side. How to fix this without breaking the bank unnecessarily? .
On my Phaeton, I've got some paint chipping right below one of the rear tail lights. It is strange since this is not an area that would get any type of abuse, and I don't think the tail lights have been removed before. I am wondering if this is something that I could touch up myself. If not, should I get a dealer to look at it?
View 4 RepliesI can open all the doors if I press the unlock button on the driver's side. However, suddenly, the remote (both remotes) will unlock only the driver's door & the trunk, but not the passenger & rear doors.
Locking the door manually with the key did nothing. We just replaced the car's battery (it's been 5 years), but that didn't solve the problem with the keyless entry remote. One of the remotes is rarely used (1x/week), so I'd be astonished if both keyless entry remotes needed batteries at the same second.
