Camry 2012+ :: Maintenance Light Started Flashing At 4500 Miles Mark
Dec 17, 2014
My maintenance light started flashing @ the 4500 mile mark so I checked the oil and was half a qt low. I was a bit surprised. I was not at any type of incline and I drive pretty light. Def don't drive hard. Normal or no?

The maintenance required light just started flashing on our Camry last night.
It just went to the dealer at 4,200 mi for an "early" oil change (I had wanted an early oil change done, and the the dealer said it wasn't required til 10,000 miles). So no new oil.
It's about 7 months old, and mostly driven on short trips - our other car is used for the long trips. Tires were rotated @ last service.
Does it actually want an oil change? I'd take it to the dealer, but their next appointment is 2 weeks out.

Set up the free oil change for next week (10,600 on the odometer) and was wondering if this is an automatic light just based on mileage. Prior owner got a free 5,000 mile oil change and selling dealer changed the oil at 5,800 when we bought it.
But I guess if there's a reset somewhere that neither prior dealer took the time to do the car thinks it's time for it's first change. This is a 2014.5 SE Sport put in service July of 2014.

My bride's 2013 v5 is flashing "Maintenance Required" at a little over 4600 miles. Way too early for the recommended 10K oil change (though we will probably do the first change at 5K)...

After starting my 09 Camry, the Maintenance light flashes a good 15 times before it turns off. I just started noticing this. I understand all the lights on the dash will flash upon starting the car, a few times, but this is longer than it has done it in the past.

2011 Camry LE .... My car has some 85,000 miles and generally runs very good. Recently the maintenance light flashes. The flashing does not occur when the car is started but some times 30 sec later.
If it were the standard "change your oil" reminder, it would come on and stay on--I'm very familiar with that.
This situation it comes on after the car is running (even driving) and flashes for 5-10 times and disappears.

Bought my Camry with 25k miles on it, and had the dealer change the oil and reset the light first thing. Now I'm at 30k miles and the light has come on. I am following the 10k mile OCI.
So is this Maintenance required light going to come on every 5k miles to remind me of tire rotations and whatnot in between my 10k mile oil change intervals?
Should just turn it off now and wait until 35k miles (when it comes on again im suspecting) to get the oil changed?

Maintenance Required Light just started blinking at start up... Blinks 8 times then stops. Looked up in manual. Will start blinking at start up at 4500 miles and then stay on after 5000 miles. Guess it's time to schedule the 1st trip to the service department.
Not much on the 5K check
- Fluid Levels
- check brakes
- Rotate tires
- etc

So for the past week or so when I start my car the maintenance light would come on, flash a few times then go off. Now it's on constantly. What's this mean? I looked in the manual but couldn't find anything about it. I read on line it means I need an oil change. Is this correct? I'm just about to hit 47k miles. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't for low fluids or like that. It's a 2013 camry se

This is for our '05 Toyota Camry with 125K miles on the ODO, has ABS but no TPMS.
Around a few weeks ago the ABS light started flashing on start-up. Turned engine off and it went away. This has happened 3 times to far. The light stays off otherwise. Before this we had new tires installed and the car aligned and they said the rear was a bit off (had uneven tire wear), not sure if related or not.
I was able to read the code with shorting two pins and I get 33 & 34 which is both the rear wheel sensors. The part that I am suspicious about is both sensors going out together that not make sense. So I am thinking it is the wiring somewhere. Hopefully not the module ...
For now I have cleared the codes and want to see if they return. The sensors are expensive and seems like I have to take the rear bearing off to change them, so not keen on just throwing parts at it. How to approach the troubleshooting?

HID's in your fog lights, any burn marks or anything of that sort. I have had HID's in my fogs for 7months or so and last week I stared noticing a burn mark on both fog lights. Now I do have film on the housing so I first thought that maybe it was the film burning up and not the fog lens. I'm asking because I can have my film replaced for free, I just have to send in some photos to prove it. But before I do that I wanted to make sure that it was the film that got burned 100% and not the fog light lens in case I needed that replaced also. I kinda don't want to take off the film just to see if its the lens or film.

Got my oil change done 2,000 miles ago and already have the oil maintenance light come on after 2,000 miles. I still have over 3,000 miles before I am due for an oil change. And also have noticed a drop in fuel economy of 4-5 mpg. What's going on?

is there a way to have the reminder set at 10k its getting annoying...

Maintenance light is Flashing on and off after initial startup, could it be that its trying to tell me its time to change oil or could it be something else. It is time to change my oil based on the mileage that it was last changed.

I have an 02 Forester that has 413,000 miles. It needs appox 2 qts of oil @ 4500 mile intervals. Is that too much? Is it going to start needing more oil sooner? I guess I am asking if the end is near?

I am about 40 miles shy of hitting the big 10,000 miles. The red exclamation mark just came on, and the prompt says Oil Maint Req. This light is now on, and no way to ignore it. My question is: how many miles can I drive with this prompt on without damaging my car? I mean, I don't have time to go to service until the weekend, and I got at least 60 miles more of driving this week.
For some reason, when the light came on, the car shifted. I feel the car drives a bit differently since the light came on. Does the car go into protective mode in case you don't get the oil change? I really don't want to mess up my car.

So I had a random issue today. I went to start my car this evening, and it wouldn't start. The lights on the dashboard (warning, maintenance, etc.) lit up, and the headlights and interior lights were extremely dim. Figured it was an issue with the battery. Used my husband's car to run errands and came back about an hour later. We decided to try starting the car again, and it turned on, headlights and interior lights were normal brightness, but the gas gauge is at one bar, which I know isn't possible because I have only put 166 miles on this tank of gas. I reset the gauge at each fill-up so I can track how my mileage changes. The maintenance light is also still flashing. None of these were issues I had last night, so what could be causing all these problems? Can I fix it myself, or do I need to take it into my Toyota dealership?

Was trying to change my reverse light on my 12 camry. I wanted to make sure the bulbs were working before I put everything back together. I put on the emergency brake put the car in the on position and put the car in reverse. Went to check the bulbs and nothing. Put the old bulbs in, nothing. Started the ignition and noticed that the the check engine light was on and also the P, R, N or D was not showing in the display. Let the car sit for a while and still the the same thing. What happened. All other lights work fine.

I just got an oil change, and my maintenance light is flashing when I start up. It has about 36 thousand miles on it. I don't know when the previous oil change was before the one I got two weeks ago.I have read about resetting the maintenance light, but this is my first car and I have only had it for about 8 months, so I don't want to ignore a potential issue here.

I have a 2002 Honda accord SE. It has about 194,850ish miles on her. The maintenance required light starts to flash when I turn on the car and then the light stops flashing after a bit. What it means?
I checked for any codes and there's nothing. My oil is a bit low, but not at the marker. My next due for an oil change says 195,300ish. I've never seen it flash before.
