Installing plastidipped their 17" stock rims? Looking for pics and just brief info about it? Like how many cans? I have a CGM Camry SE and just wanted to change my rims up a bit.
View 1 RepliesI just got a new set of rims and it seems the rims don't have the tire monitoring gauges on them, is there a way I can install these new rims without messing up the tire monitoring system or I cant install them at all. Also will this void any of the factory warranties on the car.
View 7 RepliesI have a 2012 Camry se v6 lowered with eibach springs and I don't like how the stock rims sink in the fender. I was thinking about putting 20mm spacers on the front and 30mm on the rear that should put my rim lip flush to outside fender.

[URL]... These are the rims I'm looking to install on my 09 Tiguan. What is/are the possible issues going from 17" VW LOS ANGELES rims to these VMR V701 18 or 19" rims might cause? How much they will through off the speedo, and can it be adjusted to compensates for the bigger rims and tires?
View 9 RepliesI don't like how they aren't in the middle of the slots of the front bumper. Where the chrome strips are. I wish they were in the middle of that, instead of towards the outside.
In this video the technician shows that there are holes that you need to drill. This allows you to fasten the DRLs to the bumper.. can I drill the holes in the middle? Would it look stupid up close?

I have a 2013 Camry XLE V6, and it now has almost 17,400 miles on it. About a month ago, I replaced the Cabin Air Filter (was definitely dirty) and the Engine Air Filter (was somewhat dirty). I made triply sure that I installed the Cabin Air Filter the correct way (the Air Filter is easier, as there is only one way to put it on).
In any event, after the car sits a while, and I start it up, whether I let air circulate from the outside or not, when I press the fan button for the A/C, initially a "musky" smell is present, but it does go away fairly quickly. (I have not tried this in "heat" (non A/C) mode yet). Why this happens? Seems somewhat strange (by the way, I used the correct STP filters that I previously purchased at AutoZone).

View 4 RepliesMy friend has an 07 Camry with the factory steel rims and they are always such a pain to get off. They never come off easy at all. I bang & bang & bang on it lightly on the tire & on the rim & after a few mins it will come off. It is always like this on all 4 tires! The first time I worked on his car all 4 tires were stuck on good, and it took me almost 45 mins just to remove the 4 tires. So before I put them back on, I cleaned up the rust and I put some anti-seize around hub snout and still they are pain to get off. I have other cars with steel rims and they all come off easy..Why such a pain with the 07 Camry steel rims?
View 2 RepliesI have a 07 Camry XLE, and recently got a great deal on some almost new 2010 highlander 19in rims, the rims are excellent... they have been balanced 2 times by hunter road-force machine and that seem to lower just a bit the vibration at speeds upward of 50mph, but not significant. 4 new tires are 225/40/19. my mechanic checked for bearings,Axel, etc. everything good, the rims are not warped/bended, no damage. air pressure checked..
I contacted a couple other Camry's with them on at car domain and I'm awaiting a reply. Is there something else that can be done about the rattling, intense vibration at high speed ? or just deal with it?
I have the minimum spacers in front because by the rim installers the rims would rub against the front calipers.on my original XLE rims i had no vibration what so ever.
I have a stock 2012 F250 6.7 Diesel. I was looking at getting new 18 or 20 inch rims for it and was wondering what the largest tire I could fit on those without rubbing on the truck would be. I know there are lots of topics on this but I could not find anything that applied to me. Most topics were on stock wheels.

The question is - snow tires on 15 in rims or snow tires on 14 in rims? I understand that 15 inch rims was an option selected on the original purchase. Without this option, the car would have had 14 inch rims.
View 14 RepliesI purchased 4 new low-resistance Michelin Fuel Savers tires at 68k miles for my 2012 Toyota Prius C. For 3 1/2 years and immediately before I had it new tires, I enjoyed excellent MPG and I admit I'm OCD with watching mpg screen enough to know my daily habits.
With this new tires and all tires are set 41PSI....I still get POOR mpg with no changes! I almost never reach 50mpg on any trips!Before new tires: My AM commute to work....always 53 to 56mpg, my PM commute to home, 52 or so.New tires: My AM commute to work....barely 43 mpg! maybe 45!, my PM almost never reach 40!
What gives! I e-mailed Toyota service dept, they said did I lose wheel cover? (WTF? It's the same cover I still have it!) then he said, they need to check into it for $150. No way I'm paying $150! that's like another tire! Ugh! What may be the cause? I purchased Mechilen Fuel Savers with LRR tires as recommended. I feel sick to my stomach every time I see piss-poor mpg. I've been driving with this new tires little over 1,000 miles already including 1 day trip to southern California (that trip, 37mpg and 41 back, where the same trips I took before always 54 average depending on the weather and wind directions)
My DDM HIDs came in the mail today and fellow vortexer D.Passat00 was kind enough to meet up with me and do the needed vag-com adjustments. So firstly a shout out to him, he's a solid dude and really nice
Now: Is there a DIY for headlight removal? I can't seem to find one, and without removing the headlights I'm afraid there just isn't enough room to install the new HID bulbs without dinging/touching them.

View 14 RepliesI am looking to install HID lights into my headlight. Successfully i have installed the regular hid into the headlamp for regular use lights. Now i have a question on the high beam which is together with the Drl. Do i have to get a bixenon kit for this socket to get the drl running and the high beam when selected? Or can i just install a regular lo/hi hid. And will it send low output for the drl and then when selected for the high beam it will function as it should?
