I want to remove the rear seat bottom cushion of a 2012 Camry L, to put on some seat covers. Do I just grasp the front center of the cushion and pull up, or will that break something?
View 7 RepliesLately I've really been noticing these bars and sharp points being able to be felt through the seat cushion on the driver's seat. I had the dealership replace the seat cushion recently cos it was already deformed (< 2 years), and now I feel several bars through the cushion (along the seams in the seat cover). The bars were able to be felt before they replaced the cushion; I thought maybe replacing the cushion would fix this problem somehow. No luck.
To be specific, I feel these bars when sitting on the seat normally. It's getting annoying.
Passenger seat feels fine. I would be surprised if this is normal for the driver's seat, if so, *bad* seat design.
I feel an entire seat replacement is warranted perhaps. Car is still under warranty (3 years / 36K).
Is there any trick to removing the rear seat bottom, or do I just need to pull each side up with enough force until it pops out? If I get my hand under the edge of the seat there seems to be a decent amount of give to it, but I don't want to break anything...
View 8 RepliesElantra GT ... Most of the time I leave the right side rear seat folded down. Every once in a while I need to return it to the normal upright configuration. That goes fine, but then later when I try to fold the seat down again the cushion (the one that you sit on) gets stuck and I have a hard time folding the seat back down again. I yank on the strap, pulling forward, upward etc. and it doesn't do anything.
Eventually, and seemingly at random, the cushion pops loose and I can fold the seat down. I can't figure out where it is getting stuck. Can I lubricate the metal parts with silicone spray or Lemon Pledge or something (I wouldn't want to use anything greasy that would get on the seat cushions)? Yes, I read the owners manual and I am following the proper procedure for folding/unfolding the seat.
Yesterday, after lifting back my rear seat backrest (40% section) I found out that the seat cushion moved forward and now I just can't find a way to put it back into place.

After having two owners (first one '99-09, then me '09-present) climbing in and out over 11 years and 95,000 miles, the driver's seat has broken down on the left side near the reclining lever. View 3 RepliesHow to remove (fully remove) the rear seat headrests from a Golf 7? I never have passengers in the rear seat, and I find that the headrests obstruct my vision (via the interior mirror) out the rear window.
I know that VW configures these headrests so they cannot easily be removed (this to prevent them from unintentionally popping out when someone is adjusting them upwards). I am sure that there must be a 'trick' to getting them out completely, though.

ok normally im very good at this stuff, but i just dont want to break anything (already broke 3 of those little "push" pin things that hold the plastic cover/trim pieces over the front bolts)

Have a Camry sleep 04 since new. Seems like my daughter spilled something on the back seat and got under the seat...smell like hell! How do I remove the back seat? Tried pulling it up but won't come up or anything. Can't see any screws...they are leather seats, afraid of pulling it harder and breaking something.
View 4 RepliesI have a 2014 Camry and the other day i went over a 15Mph speed bump while going a little over 20, after the front end went over the bottom of the car BANGED on the bump.. Now I don't know if it was the frame that hit or something on the bottom Like the gas tank and its stressing me out. I checked to see if there are any leaks but didn't see anything.. Is the gas tank vulnerable to things like this or is it high up and protected?

View 17 RepliesI just got my clazzio seat cover yesterday, spent the whole day installing it. I'm up to the last seat (rear passenger side) where i need to remove the seat belt.
I'm having problem removing the seat belt. Tried with several different tools, including variable speed tool, and even tried turning it to the right in case it has different direction to unbolt, but it just wouldn't turn at all.
I called the dealership, but no luck. So i'm now stucked with all but 1 seat being covered. I went to some shops today, most wouldn't touch it because it's liability issue.
I need to pull my front overhead console to make some changes, gonna try to mount my sirius cradle up there to get it out of the way. Can't figure out how it is fastened up there. Also, I need to pull the cover off the rear seat DVD player as I want to solder in some RCA's onto the aux in. Can't figure this one out either, and I'm afraid to break the cover.

I believe the are held in by clamps from middle to top but not sure what needs done at the bottome. And I can also feel two straps at the bottom.
