View 5 RepliesI recently had to change the dome light in our 2012 Toyota Camry so I took some pictures and wrote a simple how to guide. The interior light assembly should be the same for 2007-2012. I definitely recommend changing to an LED light while you are at it, they last longer and are brighter. The OEM bulb number is DE3175 but I hear a lot of people like the PUTCO 231125 LED replacement bulb.

How to change the Toyota Logo that appears on the screen when you start the car? I know there is an option for that in the Settings menu toward the bottom. There is a preset Toyota logo and the user may add more or modify the current one. There is an option to extract from USB, but when I do it says failed.
My usb flash drive is formatted properly, and I do have pictures in there that I would like to put. However, it says to refer to the Toyota User Guide for picture information, but I cannot find it anywhere.
Perhaps my pictures are too big for the screen, so that is why?
I'm getting ready to do my first oil change on my 20011 Camry. I've always had trucks and my other vehicle in a 94 Land Cruiser that is 5" higher than stock. What is the best way to get under the Camry to change the oil and filter?
View 14 RepliesIt appears that after you unsnap the three clips you have to loosen the clamp between the air cleaner box and the intake manifold and separate the air box top from the rubber tube before you can access the air filter. However there appears to be hinges on the back of the air filter box that gave the impression that after you unsnap the three clips you can open the lid.
I have not found any step by step instructions to tell me the correct steps to perform to access the air filter
Changing tranny fluid/filter today, all has been going great until I went to take the filter o-ring out that didn't come with the filter. It will not come out! made a hook tool out of an old tooth brush like someone on here did, o-ring wont budge. Tried a hook pick, it wont dudge (actually bent the tip on the pick and started to tear the o-ring). Everything is ready to go back together and get filled, but this stupid o-ring will not come out!

Anyway, I want to change the air filter. I did some research online which instructed me to push back the "accordian hose" connected to the air mass meter (or whatever it is called). Easy enough, however, the accordian hose is solid. It does not have the ability to flex.
My cabin filter is getting pretty dirty. I have been looking around at the different types of filters and was wondering. Is there any advantage in replacing the normal paper pleated filter with one that is lined with charcoal? What do you think of filter that is coated with charcoal and baking soda?

I've researched a bit and it seems like I might have a vacuum leak? I have attached a video on the noise, I recorded on the phone so you might need to turn up the volume a bit higher to hear the noise (vertical recording, the noise starts at about 38 secs)...

I have a 2013 Camry XLE V6, and it now has almost 17,400 miles on it. About a month ago, I replaced the Cabin Air Filter (was definitely dirty) and the Engine Air Filter (was somewhat dirty). I made triply sure that I installed the Cabin Air Filter the correct way (the Air Filter is easier, as there is only one way to put it on).
In any event, after the car sits a while, and I start it up, whether I let air circulate from the outside or not, when I press the fan button for the A/C, initially a "musky" smell is present, but it does go away fairly quickly. (I have not tried this in "heat" (non A/C) mode yet). Why this happens? Seems somewhat strange (by the way, I used the correct STP filters that I previously purchased at AutoZone).
New 2014 SE 2.5L owner here. Gonna Amsoil my rig when it hits 5K. I bought a filter wrench and drain plug gaskets online. What's the torque spec. on the filter housing and drain plug?

when should I get the first oil change done? 5,000 miles per the dealership or after the first 1000?
new 2014.5 Camry SE owner. Had the car about a week now and I've noticed every time I turn on the car, it defaults to recirculated in-cabin air, even when I've last turned off the car with it set to fresh outside air. Is it possible to change this default, either from recirculated to "last setting", or from recirculated to outside?
View 14 Repliesi am used to changing the oil & filter in a new car after 700 miles, the thinking was the bad sand castings and after a couple hundred miles some sand and other noogies would fall out of the engine block, heads and other parts. Then begin a 3,000-3,500 miles cycle of oil & filter changes. The dealer where I bought and will have it serviced at, a large Toyota dealership in Henderson, NV., says the oil and filter in this new Camry SE V6 gets changed every 10,000 miles. I know the tolerances are much tighter in 2013 than the 60's & 70's, and this engine uses synthetic oil but that seems a long time between oil & filter changes.
View 14 Repliesmy wife drives a 2008 toyota camry 4cyl. she has about 86000 miles so i figured i would do a little tune up. change plugs, filters, injector clean, etc. while changing the plugs i seem to have broken 3 of the 4 pressure tabs on the plugs that plug into the coil. for the time being i have the pressure tap electrical taped very tightly onto the plug. What I should do? or is that common to for those to break off. I didn't even really use a lot of pressure either.
View 2 RepliesI have a 2008 Toyota Camry XLE V6 with 110K miles in great condition! I'm at the Toyota dealership for oil change and tire rotation. I know I can get that any where but convenience is more important this morning.
I asked the attendant if they would use high mileage oil. She said "my guys do not believe in using high mileage oil". She did not know why they "believed" this way. They just use what Toyota recommends or synthetic oil she said.
High mileage oil has any value?
I have 2012 Camry 4 cyl. Recently I changed the oil from 5w20 to 0w20 as recommended for this car. But after I put 0w20 oil in my car the engine started knocking as if there is a continuous slap in the engine. I had ordered this car from the USA but I live in Turkey. Some ppl say I if I put 5w30 oil the noise will disappear. Camry is not sold in Turkey so the mechanics do not understand the problem. What should I do?
View 12 RepliesI recently did an oil change on my wife's 4 cylinder 2007 Toyota Camry which has about 126.5k miles so i was suggested at Autozone to use synthetic 10w30 instead of the conventional 5w20 they put at the shop when my wife gets an oil change. So i did a oil flush and did the oil change with the new synthetic 10w30 and now the Camry feels really heavy and has difficulty accelerating at first. It also makes a really loud squealing noise (like when your breaks are bad) when it first accelerates. Should I go back to conventional 5w20 even tho it has so many miles? Is there anything else wrong that i should get checked?

I have to ease off the gas before it changes gears. This also happens when I go from reverse to drive. I experience it more noticeably when I haven't been driving the car for long or on a cold morning. I haven't brought it in yet...
